Storyline: SG-1 travel to this new planet where they meet an old man called Ma'chello. The old man tricks Daniel into touching a machine he designed. As a result, the machine transfers Ma'chello's conscience into Daniel's body and transfers Daniel's conscience into Ma'chello's body. So, it is up to SG-1 to find a way to reverse this switch. The problem is that Ma'chello is not eager to cooperate.
Shippy moments:
Most of the shippy moments in this episode come from Janet and her reactions to the switch between Daniel and Ma'chello.
#1: (Something feels wrong)
At this point in the episode, Janet ignores everything about the switch. She examines the man she believes to be Daniel. All the medical tests may say that 'Daniel' is fine. However, she feels that something is definitely wrong with 'Daniel.'
Janet: "You just, you seem a little out of it Daniel, is something bothering you?"
#2 (The good doctor)
Daniel, inside Ma'chello's body, is at the infirmary. Daniel is trying to convince everyone that he is not Ma'chello, but rather that he switched bodies with the old man.
Daniel: "As I've trying to tell the General and the good Doctor here, I am not Ma'chello. I am Daniel Jackson"
It is not in every episode that Daniel gets to call Janet "the good doctor."
It means that Daniel appreciates all that Janet does for him. Which could explain why Daniel ends up in the infirmary so often…
#3. (Knowing Daniel)
Janet: "He, er, knows a lot about Daniel."
Ok, sure Janet. The man knows a lot about Daniel. But, explain this. How come that YOU know so much about Daniel? If you can confirm that the man knows a lot about Daniel, it means that you know a lot about him ;)
#4 (and what if he isn't Daniel?)
SG-1, Hammond and Janet are discussing the situation.
Janet seems very shocked when she realizes that getting Daniel back to normal may be harder than she expected.
#5 (coma)
Janet is very concerned when Daniel in Ma'chello's body goes into a coma.
#6 (Doctor Jackson/ Daniel)
Janet returns to the infirmary and she finds out that Daniel came back from his coma.
She is relieved, and obviously happy to see that he is better now.
Janet: "Well, it is good to have you back, Doctor Jackson."
She tries to keep that distance with him. Yet, notice how this changes when Daniel almost dies of a heart attack.
Janet: "Come on, Daniel."
She calls him by his first name rather that by his last name when trying to save his life.
#7 (do it fast)
Sam comes up with a solution for this whole mess. However, Daniel is very weak at this point and may die any moment.
Janet to Sam: "Well, whatever you're gonna do, do it fast"
It is obvious that Janet worries that Daniel will die soon. She cares too much about Daniel to let that happen.
