Trivia: * "Shanks" is Scottish (but has a Welsh origin) * When he was a kid, he loved Star Wars, Star Trek, Space: 1999 and Battlestar Galactica. * While enrolled at University, Michael observed a production shoot for MacGyver (starring Richard Dean Anderson). Little did he know that he would be co-starring with RDA years later! * The fact he looks like James Spader (who played Daniel Jackson in the movie, Stargate) helped get him the part. * Michael does his own stunts if he can. * Michael's favourite tv/movie genre is action-adventure. * Michael drinks a lot of coffee. * The cast of SG-1 socialise off-set as well. eg. How MS got the part: How he got the part of Daniel Jackson: "I was living in Toronto and finishing my second year at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival when the opportunity to audition for Stargate SG-1 came up. I did it, and I guess they saw something on my audition tape that they liked. They flew me down to LA for a series of screen tests." He obviously impressed the producers for he got the part! :) What MS likes most about Daniel: His honesty, optimism and forward moving positive energy. What MS likes least about Daniel: His allergies. MS's favourite SG-1 episode: Torment of Tantalus. |
