Venus Fly Trap
by Kat
RATING: R, maybe higher later.
SPOILERS: None
PAIRING: Janet/Other, Janet/Daniel eventually
DISCLAIMER: Not mine, if they were things would be very different. Like Janet would be in more than a handful of eps a season. That would be a good start.
SUMMARY: Janet has an interesting couple weeks.
AUTHOR'S NOTES: This is the first stargate story that I have ever posted. I have written dozen but haven't had the courage to post them till now. Feedback is much appreciated. Right now this is Janet/other. As I mentioned above it will eventually be Dan/Jan, but not for a good while. Janet gets to have a little fun first. I have been a lurker long enough and decided to stop. Here it is then...
Sg1 stepped down the ramp to be greeted by General George Hammond.
"Welcome back people. Debriefing in one hour. Go get yourselves checked out by doctor Warner."
"Warner! Where is Janet," Sam asked
Hammond hesitated before answering, "The brig."
"The brig," Sam, Daniel, and Jack said in shocked unison. Tealc merely raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"Why is she in the brig?"
"That's a long complicated, slightly embarrassing...strange story
Major."
*****
A couple of hours later Sam was let into the cell holding the CMO of Cheyenne Mountain and Sam's best friend in all the world. As she entered she saw Janet pacing back in forth in her small cell.
"Jan?"
Janet turned at the sound of someone's voice. She smiled when she saw it was Sam. Sam in turn was a little startled by her friend's appearance. Janet was in civvies. A pair of battered jeans that was snug in all the right places, a black t-shirt and no shoes. Her hair was plastered to her head and neck from the fine sheen of sweat she was covered in. She had a slightly wild look in her eyes.
"Sam good to see you. Can you get me out of here?"
"Not yet. What happened while we were gone?"
"Didn't sour puss tell you?"
"Who?"
"General Hammond."
"Uh...no he said he's leave the explanations up to you."
Janet snorted, "Coward."
Sam's eyebrows went up at that, "That's our boss you're insulting."
Janet held her arms out indicating her cell, "Locked me up!"
"There had to have been a reason for him to have locked you up."
"You zat a few people and you're labeled "dangerous" all of a sudden."
"You zat-ed people?"
"I had to get to Michael Sam. It was king of hard to do always being in the presence of armed guards."
"Michael," Sam asked curiously
"James," Janet answered
"Huh?"
"Michael James," Janet clarified
"Lieutenant James of Sg19 you mean?"
"Right."
"Why'd you have to get to him?"
"Sex," she said in a tone clearly meaning `duh.'
Sam was getting more and more confused by this conversation.
"Sex?"
"Yes."
"With lieutenant James?"
"Exactly."
"Why?"
Janet sighed, "The drug Sam. The drug," she explained grabbing on to the bars and staring at her friend.
"Uh-huh. I think you should start at the beginning of this story."
Janet sighed again, "Fine," she said sitting down on the cot, "It all started when General Hammond called me into his office a week ago. After you guys left."
One week earlier
"What can I do for your sir," Janet asked taking a seat
"I'm initiating a new program where a medic and/or doctor accompanies the more…accident prone teams on their missions. Since you are CMO you get to decide if you want to be one of the one's to go, and if so which team. You also would decide who else goes and what team they'll be on."
Janet grinned, "This wouldn't have anything to do with every member of Sg15 coming back with a broken bone of some kind would it?"
Hammond grinned back, "Something like that? Which team would you choose doctor?"
Janet gave it some though then said, "Sg19."
Hammond was nodding, "Ah yes Sg19."
"They've only been active for a year and a half and already they've had almost as many injuries as Sg1. That's pretty hard to do."
"That it is. Sg19 it is then. They leave for P9Z-2X9 tomorrow at 0800. Can you give me the list of what medics go and what teams by the end of the day?"
"Certainly sir."
"Do you need to make any arrangements for Cassandra?"
"No sir, she's away at a summer camp."
"Very good. Dismissed."
Present Time
"Okay so you chose to go with Sg19 because of the General's new program?"
"Yes, those guys are so accident prone it's a wonder they're still alive."
"Right. You went with them on their mission. How'd you end up here," Sam said gesturing around the cell.
"I'm getting to that."
Past
Janet entered the gate room in her full gear. She had all of her medical supplies in her pack along with some MRE's. This was only supposed to be a one-day mission so she needed nothing else.
"Hey doc," Major Stephen Bronson said cheerily
"Hey."
"You ready for this mission," Lieutenant Michael James asked.
"As ready as I ever am to travel to another world."
"Yeah, it is a little strange sometimes. I go through a lot now, but it still gets to me," Michael said softly
"I've only been through a couple dozen times. Mostly for medical reasons. It's nice when I can go to explore."
"I bet that is," lieutenant Clarence Perry said
While they were all talking the gate had been dialing up. It sprang to life with the customary whoosh.
"You have a go people. Be safe."
The five members of the SGC stepped into the wormhole and came out into a beautiful garden.
Present
"It was a beautiful planet?"
"It was glorious Sam. The planet was supposed to be uninhabited."
"But it wasn't?"
"Oh it was. Of people."
"An animal made you…nutty?"
"No a plant made me nutty. As you may or may not know Michael is also a botanist. Going to new worlds and thusly seeing never before seen plants is such a kick for him. Plants cure a majority of our diseases here on Earth so that's why I was so excited. We looked at the plants while the other scouted around."
Past
Janet and Michael were exploring the gardens in wonder. Rounding a corner the stopped dead in their tracks. Ahead of them was the most beautiful and strange looking plant they'd ever seen. It stood about four feet tall, had every color imaginable on it's clipboard sized leaves. What was most strange about it was that it looked like an oversized Venus Fly Trap. Michael hesitantly reached out to touch a leaf. The `fly trap' opened, both leaned forward to peer inside. Crying out in surprise when the plant sprayed them both with a clear iquid they jumped back.
"The plant threw up on you," Sam asked clearly grossed out
"For a lack of some other way to describe it, yes."
"What did you do?"
"This is so gross," Michael commented holding his arms out
"I feel like the guys in the movie Ghostbuster when they got slimed by slimer."
"You like Ghostbusters?"
"Yeah."
"Me too. That's as good analogy as ever. What do you think this stuff is," he asked attempting to wipe it off
"I don't know. I'm trying real hard not think of it as barf."
"Ooh good idea."
The others came running up to them upon hearing the cries of alarm. They saw Janet and Michael dripping with some king of goo that smelled really bad.
"What happened," Clarence asked covering his nose
"This plant here," Michael indicated the plant, "Sprayed this...stuff at us."
Looking to the plant they saw it closing up.
"What is that," Stephen asked
Janet and Michael shrugged.
"What have I told you about touching plants that look like they can eat you," Stephen asked Michael with mock severity
"Look but don't touch."
"Exactly."
"We barely even touched it Stephen," Janet defended
"Do you feel anything," Harrison asked
"About what," Michael asked wiping the slime off his neck
"The slime. Is it doing anything?"
"Besides severely grossing me out. Not that I'm aware of. We'll be fine," Janet finished and looked up to see the guys staring at her, "But maybe we should take precautions just in case it will do something."
Clarence clapped his hands together, "This is going to be interesting."
"How's that," Janet asked as they all headed toward the gate
"We've only been gone for two hours. The General is probably going to think the curse of Sg19 has struck again!"
"The curse of Sg19," Janet repeated
"Yes, the curse of Sg19. We get injured and/or something totally strange happening on almost every mission we go on."
"Isn't that why you chose to go with us doc," Stephen asked with a grin
"I chose to go with you because you are all very nice gentleman."
The guys looked at her as they all burst into laughter.
General George Hammond drank his tea contentedly. All the teams were out and no one had come back early. His phone rang. Hammond didn't know whether or not to pick it up. Sighing, "Hammond."
"General sir uh we're being contacted back Sg19."
"What? They just left."
"Yes sir. They've contacted us through the malp."
"I'm on my way."
Hammond put down the phone and headed toward the control room. All the while thinking of what could this team have possibly gotten themselves into in only two hours. Going into the control room he saw Major Stephen Bronson on a video monitor. He had his head turned toward someone off camera.
"Stay like fifteen or twenty...yards that way," he yelled pointing off into the distance.A distant 'Hey!' could be heard.
"Major?"
Stephen jumped and turned towards the camera, "Sorry sir wasn't expecting you so soon."
"Quite alright major."
"Before you jump to any conclusions on us, as I'm sure you've already done, I just want to say we're all...uninjured."
"Uninjured?"
"Yes sir."
"Why are you calling then Major?"
Stephen hesitated, "We're safe sir. Relatively that is. It seems Michael broke a guideline I set forth for him."
"I did not," Could be heard from afar
"What kind of guideline?"
"To not touch a plant that looks like it could make you part of the food chain."
"So you ran into a man eating plant? I thought you said you were okay?"
"We are. It wasn't man eating, that we're aware of anyway. It's just huge!"
"What did it do?"
"Well Michael and the doc were looking at said plant. It looks like a giant Venus fly trap.
Anyway Michael touched a leaf and it opened up spraying the both of them with slime."
"Slime?"
"Yes sir. Disgusting slime that looks like snot and smells like...that time we were 'skunked' by that creature a couple months back. Only ten times worse."
Hammond wrinkled his nose just thinking about that incident and of just how bad he thought the doctor and lieutenant smelled. "The 'stay twenty yards away' comment makes sense now. It really smells that bad?"
"Worse sir."
'How do you think we feel," Janet yelled
Stephen smiled, "We don't know what this slime does so we figured we should be put under quarantine. Just to be safe.
"Good idea Major. Are they okay?"
Stephen looked to the side and shut off the radio so the other's couldn't hear and leaned forward,
"For the most part they are fine, but they do seem a little...off."
"Off?"
"Kind of disoriented."
"We're on our way."
Present
"So what happened when you got back?"
"We were tested up the wazu for anything and everything. When out tests came back clear we were let go. Quarantine was only two days."
"They didn't find anything wrong with you?"
"Nope."
"Okay. So how'd you get from being fine to the sex?"
"Very quickly. First, was the visit we had to the Tokra."
"Whose we?"
"Myself and Sg19. I was still assigned to them."
"You two touch nothing," Stephen ordered as they walked up the ramp. It was said with a smile.
"Yes sir," Michael and Janet said with a grin and a salute.
On the other side of the wormhole they were met by Jacob, Seval and Gal.
"Doctor we weren't expecting for you to join us," Jacob said with a smile upon seeing her.
"I'm the brand new member of Sg19."
"We're glad to have her," Michael said with a grin.
"Why were you seeing the Tokra," Sam asked interrupting
Janet looked over at her friend, "What?"
"Why the Tokra?"
"I don't remember now," Janet said with a wave of her hand, "Something to do with a new addendum to the treaty or something."
"Okay. I got."
Past
Everyone sat in a meeting room.
"Where did Seval go," Harrison asked non-chalantly
The other teammates grinned. They all knew of the huge crush Harrison had on the dark beauty.
"She went to find Anise," Jacob answered
A few minutes later Seval returned sans Anise.
"Where is Anise," Selmac asked
"I couldn't find her," came the response
"You looked everywhere?"
"Yes."
Janet snorted, "Yeah sure."
Everyone turned to her.
"I'm sorry was that out loud?"
"Yes."
"Did you check her quarters," Janet asked ignoring the others
"Quarters?"
"You know the place where she sleeps?"
"Yes, she has quarters."
"Did you check them," Janet asked.
The others looked to her in surprise. Janet was speaking like Seval was a three year old not hundreds of years instead.
Seval didn't seem to be bothered by Janet's tone, "No."
"Don't you think you should?"
Seval nodded and left.
"What," Janet asked as she found the other's staring at her
"You actually spoke to her like that?"
Janet rolled her eyes, "On a drug that's controlling my brain," she said evenly
"Fair enough."
Janet and Michael were sitting on the surface of the planet. It was a beautiful day. They were looking at over a crystalline lake.
"It's so beautiful here."
"It is at that. Doc?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you feel anything different?"
Janet turned to him, "Different how?"
"I don't know. Strange?"
She sighed, "Yeah, I think the scene earlier proves something is wrong. I'd never talk to someone the way I did to Seval."
"That was actually kind of cool," Michael said with a grin.
"Something is definitely wrong with us."
"We should go back home and get checked out again."
"Yes we should."
Neither made a move to get up. Michael took Janet's hand into his. Silently they stared out over the water.
"It really is beautiful here," Janet commented
"It really is," Michael said staring at Janet.
She smiled and squeezed his hand.
Inside the rest or Sg19 and Jacob were talking. They were waiting for Gal to return with the final copy of the treaty.
"Is Janet all right," Jacob asked.
"I guess. She does seem to be a little more...feisty than usual," Clarence commented.
"Did something happen?"
"She and Michael got slimed by this plant yesterday. Tests showed they were perfectly healthy."
Jacobs eyes widened slightly, /A plant you say?/ The reverberating tones of Selmac asked.
"Yeah it was a huge plant with these beautiful leaves. They probably had to take like fourteen showers to get the stench off," Harrison remarked unaware of Jacob and Selmac's increasing worry.
/A large plant that opens up/ Selmac asked
The three men were paying attention now.
"You know something of this plant," Stephen asked.
/Definitely. It is called a Rasteyneeyeh./
"What does this Rast thingy do?"
/It's different for each person. Something I can say is that it's never good. The slime effectively cuts off ones conscious./
"That doesn't sound so bad."
/You will do anything you want to. Anything! You lose all your inhibitions."
"That sounds bad."
"You must always watch them," Jacob said evenly.
"What is in this slime that makes people act the way they do?"
Sighing Jacob leaned back, "It is parasitic in nature. You wouldn't have found anything. The parasite is absorbed into the skin leaving the slime and the stench behind. It mixes with blood and cells. It's so not good."
"How can we stop it," Stephen asked
"You can't."
"We can't? There has to be an antidote or something."
Jacob shook his head, "There's not. they must ride this thing through to the end."
All were silent while contemplating this.
"How long," Clarence asked.
Jacob raised his eyebrows in question.
"How long will the 'ride' take?"
"That I don't know. It varies for each person affected."
Harrison leaned forward, "Just a ballpark figure here. Weeks, months, never?"
"I would go with a few weeks."
This was sinking in when Gal entered the room with the treaty. He handed it to Stephen.
"I was told to tell you that doctor Fraiser and Lieutenant James went home."
Stephen jumped to his feet, "Home! How could they go home?"
"They used our signaling device. They said they did not feel well and were going to go get checked out."
Stephen blinked. Quickly he began rounding up his things. Throwing on their packs the guys were out of there in minutes.
"Let us know how it goes," Jacob said before the guys stepped through the wormhole.
"Will do. Thanks."
Stepping down the ramp they saw General Hammond standing at the bottom.
"Did you get the treaty?"
"Yes sir. Where are Michael and Janet?"
"I would think they're getting checked out. Why?"
"Jacob just enlightened us on just what the plant was, and the effects it has on the people were slimed."
"What does it do?"
"I think we should find them first," Clarence remarked.
"Good idea. I'll be in my office. You find them and bring them to my office."
"Will do sir."
Twenty minutes later the three men entered the General's office without Janet or Michael.
"Where are they," Hammond asked
"It appears that they left the base sir."
"What!" Hammond yelled jumping to his feet.
"No one knew anything was wrong with them and so no one stopped them."
"Find them," Hammond said through clenched teeth
"Yes sir," Stephen said softly
They soluted the General and quickly left.
"Where do you think they'd go," Harrison asked
"I have no idea. We know lots of places that Michael hangs out at, but we have no idea where the doc hangs out."
"Sg1 isn't here to help us. Who would know where Janet goes?"
"Cassie would, but the doc mentioned something about camp."
The three men were walking towards the elevator.
"Would the nurses know," Clarence asked
"They just might."
The quickly rerouted themselves and went to the infirmary. They spotted a nurse.
"Anna," Stephen said walking over to her with the guys following.
Anna Cooper looked up as Major Bronson called her name, "Sir?"
"Can we talk to you a second?"
"Sure," she said putting down the file she'd been writing in.
"If you couldn't find doctor Fraiser where would you look?"
"What?"
"Say, hypothetically that she'd left the base because she was under the influence of an alien drug that controls her mind."
"Okay," Anna responded clearly not knowing where these guys were going with this.
"Where would you look to find her?"
"I would try calling her on her cell phone first, to see where she was at."
Stephen, Clarence and Harrison glanced at each other. That was a simple solution.
"Why didn't we think of that," Clarence asked
"Are you saying your hypothetical situation is real?"
"No."
Anna narrowed her eyes at them.
"Yes, but we need to keep this quiet for now. Do you where she'd go Anna?"
"No, if she wasn't at home she was usually here and visa versa."
"Hmmm."
Present
"Where'd you go," Sam asked interupting the story again.
Janet raised an eyebrow and smiled enigmatically, "We went for a little swim."
"A swim?"
"Yes, so while the guys were looking for us Michael and I were having a nice relaxing swim.
Past
Janet came up from beneath the water and shook her hair out. She turned to see Michael pop out of the water. She smiled at him.
"This place is amazing Michael. When did you find it?"
"I found it a couple of years ago. I don't think very many people know this lake exists. It's all mine pretty much."
"How many woman have you brought here?"
"You're the first one."
Janet swam over and wrapped herself around him, "I feel so flattered."
"I would think you felt something else," Michael said with a leer.
"Oh I do and it's very nice."
Both had stripped off their clothes upon coming to the shore of the gorgeous lake. They were both naked as the day they were born. Michael swam them so his feet were touching the shore. With one swift motion he entered her. They cried out in pleasure as the water wripped out in waves around them.**
Present
"I see what you mean by you and Michael going from fine to sex very quickly," Sam muttered after a few minutes of silence.
After getting no response from Janet, Sam looked over to her friend. Janet was slumped down on the bed with her eyes closed.
"Janet?"
Sam walked over to the bars, "Janet!"
She still got no response and went over to the door and knocked. The guard opened the door. "Ma'am."
"Get Warner down here."
"Why?"
"Janet is unconscious. I think something is happening."
The guard grabbed the phone and dialed the infirmary.
A few minutes later Warner entered the room and had the guard open the cell door. Another guard into the room and together the two security officers pointed zat guns at Janet's head. This surprised Sam.
"Uh are the guns pointed at her head necessary?"
"Most definetly Major," Warner said softy. He turned his back to Sam and carefully lowered Janet so she was lying flat on the floor.
Sam noticed for the first time that Warner had a thick bandage one the back of his neck. She hadn't noticed that before when he examined her. Warner ran a smelling salt under Janet's nose. She woke with a start. She looked up to see Warner, two armed guards and Sam standing over her.
"Warner," Janet said softly
"Janet what have I told you about getting overheated?"
"Don't do it."
"Yes."
Janet's eyes flickered to the zat's pointed at her.
"I really am sorry for attacking you."
"Are you?"
"Yes, you were just in my way."
"That was bad for me."
He held out his hand and helped Janet to her feet. Warner and the guards retreated to outside the cell and closed the door.
"What happened," Sam asked.
"With me or her," Warner asked while putting stuff away.
"Her."
"She got overheated and passed out. What were you talking about?"
"She was telling me about what happened while we were gone."
Warner was nodding, "I see. Don't do that."
Sam raised her eyebrows, "Don't do that?"
"If you need to know at least have a cold cloth or something to keep her cool."
"Will do."
Warner glanced to Janet who smiled sweetly at him. Rubbing the back of his neck he left with the guards, leaving the two woman alone.
"What did you do to him?"
Janet sat on her bed, "I attacked him with a scalpel."
"Really?"
"He was trying to keep me here."
"Okay. I think that I should let you cool down for a little while."
"Sam?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you do me a favor?"
"I am not breaking you out of here!"
Janet rolled her eyes, "That's not what I want."
"What then?"
"Can you go see how Michael's doing?"
"Sure, I'll see you later Jan."
Sam left the cell and walked down the corridor and was let into Michael's room. He was currently doing push-ups.
"Lieutenant?"
Michael looked up at Sam and grinned. He stood up and Sam had to try real hard not to drool. Michael was only wearing a pair of shorts. Sweat dripped down his smooth, toned six pack abs. He was HOT!! "Can I help you with something Major Carter?"
"I just came from visiting Janet and she asked me to come see how you were."
Michael smiled, "That is so sweet of my beloved to want to know how I am."
Sam raised her eyebrows of his use of the word 'beloved'.
Michael rolled his eyes, "I know that I don't truly love her, and it is just because of this drug, and that it'll where off and I won't feel the same. For right now I love her. Do you have a problem with that? Major."
Sam put up her hands in surrender and smiled slightly. Michael still had the presence of mind to know he was talking to someone of higher authority than him.
"How is Janet?"
"She's good. She passed out briefly but she's okay now."
"Why'd she pass out," he asked with great concern
"She got a little overheated telling me about some of the things that happened while I was gone."
"Did she tell you about the lake?"
"Yes, that's what we were talking about before she passed out. She didn't get any further than that. Warner came in an roused her. I then left her to cool down."
"Is he still wary around her?"
"He had two armed guards point guns at her head while he treated her."
Michael grinned, "I don't blame the man really, considering how Janet hurt him so much."
"You don't seem at all bothered by the fact that she attacked someone."
"Who would I be to judge. I attacked Stephen."
"Major Bronson?"
"Yeah, I knocked him out with a vase."
"Ow."
"Yeah."
*****
While the two of them talked Janet sat in the full lotus position on the floor of her cell attempting to meditate. She had been told by Mackenzie to try some aversion therapy to try and control how hot she got. She'd been told to think of somewhere cold. After a few minutes Janet heard the door open then close. She knew who it was without openeing her eyes.
"Hello Daniel," she spoke without opening her eyes
"Uh hi."
"To what do I owe this visit," Janet asked opening her eyes and looking at him.
Daniel was fidgeting, "I just came to see how you were doing."
"That's so sweet Daniel."
"Huh yeah. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine."
"Good. That's good."
"You're in love with me aren't you," she asked without and preamble
Daniel stared at her with his mouth agape, "Wh-where would you get that idea?"
Janet grinned, "You're not denying it I see. Where would I get that idea? I've known for quite some time doctor Jackson. I've seen the way you stare at me when you think I'm not looking."
Daniel was changing several shades of red. Quite becoming on him actually.
"It's nothing to be embrassed about Daniel. I feel the same."
"You do?"
"Not at the moment. Right now I'm all hot and bothered for Michael. When this wears off I will once again be madly in love with you."Daniel really didn't know what to say to this, "You...love me?"
Janet sighed, "I have for quite some time actually. You were too...Daniel to notice."
"Why are you telling me this?"
"So you would know that I reciprocate your feelings silly. Also, when this drug wears off I won't have the courage to tell you how I feel about you. I'm telling you now so you'll know. What you do with this information is up to you Daniel."
He opened and closed his mouth several times, "I love you," he said in wonder, "I love YOU!"
"I'm aware of that and I will love you with all my heart and soul once this drug wears off."
*****
Sam sat down in a chair in front of the cell. Michael sat down and was doing sit-ups.
"What happened after the lake?"
"Did Jan tell you how we were almost arrested?"
"No. You were almost arrested?"
Michael smiled, "We sure were."
Past
Janet and Michael were kissing passionately when they were interupted by a flashlight beam pointed directly at them. Both turned to see two uniformed police officers standing on the shore.
"Can you come out of the water please?"
Jan and Michael were about to do just that when they saw that their clothes were no longer where they had left them.
"Where are our clothes," Michael asked
"What," the female officer asked
"Our clothes. They were right where the two of you were standing," he clarified.
The officers looked around with their flashlights and all they found were footsteps leading away from the lake.
"It would seem like a prank was played on the two of you. We got a call that two people were doing some illegal things at the lake and here we are."
"So someone stole our clothes and called the cops on us? How rude."
"I'll go get some blankets," the male officer whose nametag read 'Hutchins' commented.
He went to the squad car and came back with a few blankets. He dropped them near the water. Him and his partner whose nametag read 'Lions' looked at them expectantly.
"Can we have a little privacy here," Janet said in tone of voice meaning 'turn around pervs.' The two officers turned around. Janet and Michael got out of the water and wrapped the blankets around their bodies.
"Okay."
Hutchins and Lions turned back around.
"Are we under arrest," Michael asked
"I don't think that we'll be arresting you at this time. Since it was a prank played on you we'll just leave you with a warning."
"How generous of you to do that," Janet said
"Uh is my car still here," Michael asked
"We didn't see a car."
"Damn punks stole my baby," Michael said crossly
Janet rolled her eyes, "Don't worry we'll find her Michael. I don't imagine that the two of you could give us a ride home?"
"Sure. You'll have to come down to the police station to fill out a report."
"Right now?"
"Uh you can do it tomorrow I guess. Just come down first thing in the morning."
"Sure thing."
"Where do you want to go," Lions asked
Janet and Michael looked at each other. That was a good question.
"Where could we go where our well meaning friends wouldn't find us," Janet asked
Michael smiled, "I think that I know just the place for us to go."
"Do tell."
"You'll just have to wait and see."
They all got into the police car. Michael gave them an address and off they went. In about twenty minutes they pulled up to a very large house.
"Who lives here?"
"My parents do. They're on vacation for a couple months in Europe."
"Nice. Thanks for the ride officers and not arresting us and all,"
Janet said with a grin, "We'll be in the station firstt thing in the morning to report Michaels baby is missing, and our clothes, wallets and id's."
"Okay."
Janet and Michael got out of the car and went up to the front door and went inside. The house was amazing.
Present
"So you were just let off with a warning when you probably broke a couple laws at the lake?"
"Yeah. It was so cool."
Michael had finished his sit-ups and was now sitting placidly on the floor.
"This is all just too surreal."
"You're telling me. I'm the one that's living it."
They were interupted by the klaxons going off warning of an incoming wormhole.
"I am going to go see who that is. I'll check on you later 'kay."
"Sure."
*****
Sam ran to the gate room in time to see her father, Gal and Seval coming down the ramp.
"Dad!"
"Sammy!"
The two embraced.
"What are you dong here Jacob," Hammond asked coming into the gateroom followed by Jack.
"We found out some knew information on the Rask plant."
"Let's go to the briefing room shall we."
They all adjourned to the briefing room.
"What have you got?"
"It's worse then we first thought possible."
"How can it be worse dad. Janet and lieutenant James are locked up," Sam commented
"The drug or parasite from the plant will not just wear off like we first thought," Seval explained
"Okay so how will it wear off?"
"By their one true love."
