Vanilla Kisses and Red Wine

STATUS: Complete
CATEGORY: D/J, uh...maybe another, but no-one's online for
me to ask so you'll have to make do :)
RATING: PG-13 for a few bad words I think
SEASON/SEQUEL: Cassie's mentioned so after the ep she
appears in, but other then that you can make up whatever
season/ep you want :)
There probably won't be a sequel unless I get really
inspired, but there may :)
SPOILERS: uh...not unless you count the ep Cassie turns up in
SUMMARY: Daniel being a total idiot, and Janet with red
wine and vanilla essential oil burning.
DISCLAIMER: They aren't mine, I'm only playing and I'll
give them back soon, k? Please don't sue me...
I light the tea light candle and carefully blow out the
match. I’m feeling in a melancholy mood and the gentle
scent of vanilla will be just what I need.
I settle down on my couch with my glass of wine and stare
into space, letting my mind wander wherever it wants.
Guys are stupid. End of story.
I nod my head slightly, in agreement to what my mind has
just told me.
Have you any idea what that asshole did today? That asshole
that I’ve somehow fallen in love with.
I asked him if he wanted to come see Cassie tonight since
it’s her birthday soon…and what does he say?
“Oh uh…I’m sorry…I have a lot of work to do…”
I smack the glass down hard, spilling a little of the warm,
red colored liquid onto the glass coffee table in the
center of the room. I glare at the rapidly-spreading red
stain in anger. But I can’t hold my anger for long. How can
I stay mad for long at such an adorable, huggable man?
Trust me…from long experience, it’s impossible.
I sigh and the soft vanilla scent drifts over to me, softly
caressing my nose and I smile at the familiar scent. Most
people say that chocolate makes them feel better about guy
problems. But I’m pretty sure
vanilla does a better job at making you forget.
Guys may be stupid…but this one is possibly the nicest one
I’ve ever met, even if he does get so absorbed in work all
the time. Just once…I’d love for him to get that absorbed
in me. But it’ll never happen.
He’s so cute and adorable. Totally huggable and most
definitely kissable.
My ex-husband…now he was a totally different type of
person. He treated woman like possessions to be used and
thrown aside like an old rag. I knew it from the start of
course, but I was young, and foolishly thought that
marriage would change that.
For a while, I lived in a blissful state, thinking that he
had really changed and that I now had everything I needed
and could possibly ever want. A husband, a career, children
hopefully on the way…but then I caught him in bed, cheating
on me with my best friend.
I walked out, filed for divorce and I haven’t seen him
since.
I also never fell in love again, until now that is.
I notice that my wine has mysteriously disappeared, and
that the tea light candle has burnt out, long ago. Time to
go to bed, and sink into dreams where I’m with him, and
everything is the way it should be.
Hey, a girl can dream, right?
