Sam sat at her lab bench. Her eyes were transfixed on the words, "Transfer Order" typed on a nondescript piece of paper on her desk. The world around Sam no longer existed. If Apothis himself came up to Sam, she would not notice.

It made little difference that they rest of SG1 was now standing on her lab trying to get her attention. "Sam! Hey Sam!" Daniel said. He watched Jack move beside her. The three were now worried.

Jack put his hand on her shoulder and jiggled it a bit. "Carter, what's gotten into you?" Jack then turned to Daniel, "Get Doc Fraiser."

Just as Daniel was about to leave he said, "Maybe you should kiss her. This is always the solution in fairytales." Then Daniel disappeared through the door. Jack glanced at the doorway Daniel just exited.

Despite the glare he gave Daniel, Jack thought that it could not hurt. He moved in close hoping that she would snap out of it and quote regs on the subject. His eyes then glanced at what Sam's was transfixed on. "Transfer order?" Jack said to himself. He then turned to Teal'c. "Change of plans. Go tell Daniel and Dr. Fraiser to meet us at my house. Also tell Danny to cancel the reservation." Teal'c nodded then left. Jack turned back to Sam. He took the letter and moved it toward him. Sam followed the letter until she was looking at Jack. Jack looked into her eyes and noticed that the life that was once there was gone.

"Sam, lets go." Jack said and ushered her out of the base and into his car. Sam was basically catatonic. When the car turned into the drive, Jack sat there for a moment, and looked at Sam. Her eyes were focused on Jack. He touched her cheek. He then released her seatbelt and exited the car. Moving to the opposite side of the car, he took Sam and guided her into the house.

As soon as the door was closed to the empty house, Sam seemed to snap out of her state, "How did I..." She started to question then she turned to see Jack, "Sorry, sir. I..."

"Sam, it's ok. I guess of I were to receive transfer orders to Iceland, then I would act the same way. When did they come?" Jack asked.

"I received them when I came in this morning. I feel so lost. I had been staring at the words, next thing I know, I am here at your house, Sir." Sam then took a deep breath. "You know the funny part?" Sam asked rhetorically. Jack glanced at her, "We no longer in the same chain of command and still I cannot have you in my life."

Jack moved over to Sam. He felt the same. Funny how fate took away the obstacle of regulations only to throw in the obstacle of distance. And how coincidental was it that this occurred while General Hammond took a two-month leave to explore Europe with his daughter and granddaughters. "Sam," Jack took Sam into his arms, "You will not leave my life. We will fight this. I love you and I will not have Iceland, or the Atlantic Ocean, or anything else keeping us apart, in our minds..., in our bodies..., and in our souls anymore." Then Jack took Sam and shifted her slightly so that he could easily kiss her. Sam wrapped herself around Jack and encouraged the kiss to go on.

The mental stress from the day caused Sam to break the kiss and yawn. "Well, I never have gotten that as a review for a kiss before." Jack joked.

Sam smiled, "Sorry, I guess I am very exhausted. Maybe we should try it again." Jack gave Sam a smile after her comment.

"You better believe we will. For now though, you are to come with me." With no arguments, Sam followed Jack to his bedroom. He pulled out a plain brown T-shirt and handed it to Sam. "I want you to put this on, crawl into bed and get some sleep. I am going to make you some tea." Jack ushered her into the bathroom.

"Jack..." Sam started to protest.

"Sam, no argument." He kissed her again. Thought to the unknowing person it may seem that things are going fast between them, truth was, it took them years to get to this point.

"Jack," Sam called after him. "I love you too." Sam knew that with Jack, there was nothing they could not handle. Sam then proceeded to change into the brown T-shirt and crawl into Jack's unmade bed. She curled herself up in his pillows and took in his scent.

Downstairs, Jack put the kettle on. Just as he turned the stove on, there was a knock at the door. In an effort to not disturb Sam, Jack rushed to open it. He allowed entry into the living room but indicated that they should be quiet. "Jack, what is going on here?" Daniel asked, then he asked, "Where is Sam?" He did not give Jack any time to answer the question.

When Daniel was about to ask another question, Jack glared at him and started to answer the first two. "Sam is asleep upstairs in my bed. Do not disturb her. This morning she received transfer orders to Iceland. She leaves at the end of the week. She had been in the state, in which we found her, all day." Jack looked at the stairs as he commented.

"Maybe I should check her out." Janet suggested.

"Must you Janet?" Jack asked. "Let her sleep." Suddenly the teakettle whistled. "Sam's tea. I'll be right back." Jack left the three dumbstruck guests in the living room.

Taking a cup of tea up to Sam, he noticed that she was asleep. It looked so natural to see her sleeping in his bed. Putting the cup down, he went downstairs to retrieve a cup warmer from the kitchen. From there he set up the tea and the warmer so that the tea would be warm when she wanted it. He then placed a light kiss on her forehead, and tucked the blankets around her.

Teal'c stood at the door and watched Jack. He then quietly made his way down the stairs to the awaiting group in the living room. He did not reveal his finding to the others.

Jack emerged moments later, "She is asleep. Look, you might as well know that I intend on asking Sam to marry me. And with any hope, before she leaves. No more regs. We are going to fight this, however, we cannot do much without Hammond, and he is incommunicado." Jack was rambling.

"Jack..." Daniel started.

Janet continued. "Don't worry. We will fight it. Sam will be fine and we will get her back where she belongs. There has probably been a mistake in paperwork. It is just going to take longer to clear up. One question though, MARRIED?" Janet looked at him.

"Yeah, I have not asked her yet so please do not say a word. Also I do need your support." Jack said.

"I do believe, O'Neill, that no one here will refuse their support." Teal'c spoke up.

"Thanks, now let's cook dinner." The group went into the kitchen where the men began to decide on the menu for the meal.

Sam awoke to see a waiting warm cup of tea for her. To her surprise, Jack had prepared it perfectly to her taste. Scavenging through his drawers, Sam found a pair of black spandex shorts. "Jack in spandex?" Sam questioned to her self and the thought brought a smile to her face, she put on the shorts and found a pair of socks to put on as well. She headed out of the room and followed the smell and the sound of voices to the kitchen. Standing at the door, she noticed Janet sitting at the kitchen table. She gestured for her not to say a word that she was there. Janet acknowledged then the both turned to see Daniel teaching Teal'c about chopping an onion. The sight of Daniel and Teal'c in tears was amazing. Jack turned to see Sam standing there. He moved over to her and took her into his arms and kissed her. Sam stiffened a bit when she realized that they had an audience. Then she realized that she did not care. "I see you all have been busy. What's for dinner?" Sam eyed the stove.

"Oh well for your dining pleasure, we have Chicken Ameretto, with portabello mushrooms. A side dish of fettuccini Alfredo," Jack said with his Italian accent, "and for desert, Dr. Jackson has obtained a chocolate mouse cheesecake." Jack smiled back at Sam.

"Sounds great. When do we eat?" Sam asked.

"Soon, about another thirty minutes." Jack said. He then turned to Daniel to indicate that he was going to take Sam for a bit. Of course without words he understood. "Sam, my part is done here, so why don'' you say you come with me a bit."

"But Janet and..." Jack silenced her by putting a finger on her lips.

"They will be here when we get back." Jack said, then took her hand and guided her to his bedroom. He sat Sam down on the bed and knelt down on the floor in front of her, "Sam, I have been doing some thinking." Sam was about to come back with a comment when he stopped her, "Sam, for a long time I hoped that we would no longer have regs to hold us back, though, I never thought that this would be the way. One of the first things I planned when that day comes was to ask you a question. I even came prepared. Before you answer the question, hear me out." Jack paused, "Sam, since the first word you said to me, and that would be, 'She,' I knew then that you are the one that I am to spend the rest of my life with. Normally, 'Love at first sight,' is a cliché, but with you, it takes on a whole new meaning. Sam, I know that it is going to be difficult but we will get through this and everything that comes about. What I am saying is, Sam, I love you and I want you to be my wife. Will you marry me?"

Sam was shocked and surprised. "What will happen when I return to the SGC?" Sam asked.

"Is that a 'yes' then?" Jack did not care about the Airforce or the SGC right now.

"Yes." Sam said with a smile. Then Jack produces a ring and slipped it on her finger.

"Alright then, here is my next question." Sam looked at Jack, "Will you marry me tonight?"

"Tonight?" Sam questioned.

"Sam..." Sam stopped him.

"Let's go." Sam said. Sam took Jack's hand and headed out to the kitchen, "Look, Guys, Jack and I need to go out for a bit. Go ahead and eat without us."

Sam and Jack jumped in Jack's SUV and headed out. It was still early, so their first stop was a custom jewelry shop. With the jeweler in shop, they managed to buy their rings and have them sized. As soon as they were done, Sam and Jack left.

Sam had a friend in her apartment complex that was an ordained minister. Katherine was at home, so am and Jack took it as a good sign. There was another couple there wanting to get married. "Sam, I am glad you are here. These Kids need a witness to get married. Have a few minutes?"

Sam smiled, "Sure, if they will witness ours." Sam replied indication to Jack.

"Sure, Cool." The kids said.

After the young couple was wedded, Sam and Jack got up for their turn. Jack took Sam's face into his hands and turned her, "Are you ready?" He asked in a whisper.

"Yes," Sam replied. They then headed up to Katherine.

"Alright, Samantha and Jonathan. Tonight you are about to take the ultimate step in your love for each other. You are going to commit your eternal devotion to each other. Are you both ready for this commitment?" Katherine asked.

"Yes," They both replied.

"Jonathan, do you take Samantha as your wife. To spend all of your life devoted to her and your love for her?"

"I do." Jack said and gave Sam a smile.

"Samantha, do you take Jonathan as your husband. To spend all of your life devoted to him and your love for him?"

"I do," Sam replied looking deep into Jack's eyes.

Then they exchanged rings and finally they heard, "Man and Wife." Jack then grabbed Sam and pulled her into a passionate kiss.

Sam and Jack walked down the walk to her apartment. As soon as the door closed, Jack pulled Sam into his arms. The kissed the kiss of a thousand years. "I should call my place and tell them that we are not coming back." Jack said.

"Actually, I prefer you bed. This apartment is a bit depressing." Sam said.

"Well then Mrs. O'Neill, what are we waiting for?" Jack asked.

"For you to open the door, and that is Major O'Neill to you." Sam grinned.

The two entered Jack's house finding the group cleaning the kitchen aster dinner. Daniel noticed their entrance, "Hey, guys. We ate but we left you some."

"Thanks," Sam replied, "Everyone please sit down. I want to say something." Everyone sat at the clean table. "Look, this morning I got transferred to Iceland. With Hammond gone, it is impossible to fight. Even if we did, it would be harder for Hammond to get me back, so I have to go. In light of these events, something a long time in coming has happened. Jack and I decided to get married." This of course did not shock the group.

"When?" Janet asked.

"Oh I would say about 20 minutes ago." Jack answered.

"Wow, Congratulations!" Daniel said.

"This calls for cake." Janet thought about the dessert they had for a wedding cake.

"Congratulations," Teal'c said, as enthusiastically as his character allows.

"Look, guys, we are going to keep this between us for now, so not gossiping." Jack said.

"When are you going to tell people?" Janet asked.

"Right before Sam leaves." Jack said, "Look, guys, I hate to be a stick in the mud, but we have to be at work early and this is my wedding night."

"Daniel, Teal'c, that is our cue. Goodnight Sam and Jack. Congrats." Janet said.

As soon as everyone left, Sam and Jack skipped dinner and headed up stairs. Days passed all too quickly for everyone. SG1 did not go on any missions, they were too busy trying to track down Hammond but failed.

Everyone at the SGC helped clearing out Sam's place and on the last day, they met at Reds Bar and Grill for the mega going away bash. The place was decked out. SG1 rented the place solely for the SGC and you had to have a special pass to get in. That is unless you worked at Reds.

By this time, it was evident that there was something going on. Jack's speech however tipped everyone off. "Well everyone it is time that we have to temporarily send the Major here off. I say 'temporarily' because we will get her back as soon as we get in touch with Hammond. Sam, you are much loved and will be equally missed." Jack said, "Alright enough sentiment from the guy with few words. Everyone, have a good evening and remember, you are not excused from work tomorrow. Now I think it is time I take my wife home and give her a private send off." Jack then took Sam's hand and guided her to the door, "Oops, did I forget to mention that Sam and I got married a few days ago." With that Sam and Jack bolted to the car laughing.

Most of the night was spent with Sam and Jack making love and tearful sorrow.

"Hey, hey, Love, "Jack said wiping away Sam's tears, "As soon as Hammond is back, I will come and stay with you until you are back at the SGC." Sam still had tears, "Just think how great this transfer is."

"I don't follow. How is it great that I am being transferred to the other side of the world?" Sam asked.

"Because we are married, there are no regulations and when you get back, the regulations will be gone." Jack said simply.

"Since you put it that way..." Sam said and then the two were caught up in passion once again.

The next day, Jack took Sam to the airport. Due to no room on military transport, she had to take a commercial flight. As an added surprise, Jack paid the extra money and bumped her up to first class.

On the way back to the mountain, Jack was paged. He was about to pull over and call when he realized that Sam's cell phone rested in the passenger seat. He picked up the phone and made the call. "Dr. Fraiser." Janet said as she answered.

"Janet, it's Jack. What's going on?" Jack asked.

"Sam OK?" Janet asked.

"Yeah, plane took off without a hitch." Jack replied.

"Look Colonel," Janet started. She meant business when she used rank, "Jacob is here with some Tok'ra. There is a problem. " Janet said.

"Great. Get Teal'c, Daniel, and yourself to the conference room along with Jacob. I will meet you there soon. I am about 15 minutes away." Jack said then ended the call.

Jack walked into the briefing room with everyone waiting. There was that empty seat, a missing element. Sam being gone just did not feel right. "Talk to me, Folks." Jack said.

The Tok'ra filled him in and Jack made the decision that SG1 and Dr. Fraiser would accompany the Tok'ra. Then Jack dismissed the meeting.

Jacob before leaving specifically set out to talk to Jack, "So, Jack, want to tell me about my daughter." Jacob calmly ordered.

"What about Sam?" Jack replied innocently.

"First off, Where is she?" Jacob said almost in a spelling-it-out tone.

Jack looked at his watch, "Oh, I would venture to guess that she is right now over Missouri."

Jacob looked at him confused, "What?"

"She was transferred to Iceland." Jack added.

"What?" Jacob said not trying to be repetitive.

"Yeah, that was pretty much all our reactions. Odd timing too seeing that
Hammond is away for a while." Jack relayed.

"So, no more regs." Jacob said as if he just breathed it out.

"Yeah." Jack then looked at Jacob.

"Please do not tell me that you were too dumb to take advantage and marry her." Jacob smiled.

"Dad?" Jack was shocked and confused.

"Son, I am not fool and I can tell that neither are you. I am happy. Sam is happy."

Two weeks later, knocking at the door at 3:30 in the morning awoke Sam. "Who is it?" Sam asked.

"Umm Major Car... I mean O'Neill, It's Feretti." Sam trembled she was scared.
It had been two weeks since she heard from Jack and Feretti being there made her fears a million times worse.

Sam immediately whipped open the door. "What is going on. I know Jack had to be on a mission." Sam said in a panic tone.

"He along with Dr. Jackson, Teal'c and Dr. Fraiser went on a mission with your father. It was a highly dangerous mission. I am sorry, Sam. The Tok'ra lost contact with them. They are assumed dead." Feretti walked in hugging her.

"Your Wrong." Sam yelled, "YOUR WRONG!" Sam sank down to the floor. Suddenly a second set of arms surrounded her. Cassandra fell into Sam's arms crying just as hard. Feretti brought in bags from the hall and closed the door to cut off the spectators that were now standing in their bathrobes.

Cassie and Sam sat in the floor in her entry hall until Cassie fell asleep in her arms. Feretti took Cassie and Sam showed him to her room so that he could put Cassie down. After Cassie was tucked into bed, Sam and Feretti went into the kitchen. Feretti started a pot of coffee.

"Talk to me." Sam said.

"What?" Feretti asked.

"Tell me what you know." Sam looked at him with watery bloodshot eyes.

"Oh, Sam, I already have. I brought Cassie because I know that the Doc would want you to take care of her if anything happened. Cassie had more time to deal with this. She is quite resilient."

"I'm not." Sam said crying in Feretti's arms.

The next morning, (well basically a few hours later) Sam was dressed in her uniform. "Where are you going?" Feretti asked.

"I need to report to my CO." Sam replied.

"I will go with you." Feretti offered.

"No, Cassie needs someone when she wakes. I'll be fine." Sam said, then she stumbled a bit.

"Sam?" Feretti questioned.

"No, Don't!" Sam snapped. "I will be ok." Sam said then left.

A couple weeks passed. Sam was given time to help Cassie settle in, but that was all. Feretti took charge of up keeping both Jack and Janet's houses incase either Sam or Cassie want to move back into then. (Well Cassie wanting to move into Janet's house) He also took charge of packing up Daniel's apartment.

Sam had not been the same since the day Feretti came. She had been sick and could not keep anything down. She refused to see anyone about it. She chalked it up to eternal grief.

Sam and Cassie let their grief run their lives. They lived only for each other. That was the way of it until one day Cassie and Sam decided to go shopping.

"Sam, Sam, Sam," came the call of two little girls. Sam turned and squatted down where she was able to hug them.

"Kayla, Tessa. How are you doing? You remember Cassie," Sam asked.

The girls nodded, "What are you doing here?" Kayla asked.

"That is a good question, Major Carter." General Hammond asked. "I cannot believe Colonel O'Neill would approve downtime for you to come here with Cassie. I take it that Dr. Fraiser is here as well."

Cassie was not sure what to do. She ran into Sam's arms crying. Cassie had made it quite clear that they were not to talk about Janet or SG1. Sam reluctantly agreed, but because of this demand, Sam could not get past her grief.

Hammond took note of this reaction and had a look of horror in his face, "Major?"

"Hey, Dad," General Hammond's daughter said, "The girls and I are ditching you for the day. How are we suppose to meet boys with you walking with us." She motioned to the girls to come with her. "Call the hotel later." They started to walk off when Sam reached intro her pocket and pulled out her card (had to think of something that was convenient and quick.) and handed it to the woman.

Sam, looked down at Cassie, "I want to go back now." The girl demanded. Cassie had become something that Sam hated. (I cannot really find the words but a defiant pushy know it all teenager comes to mind.)

Sam caved to the girl, "Sure," then she turned to General Hammond, "Sir, we need to talk. Will you come with us?" Sam asked.

Hammond could not say much. He let Sam lead the way.

When they got to the apartment, Cassie headed to her room, Sam went to the kitchen to put on some coffee. General Hammond walked in on Sam crying. "Major?" He said as he pulled her into a hug. "Please talk to me."

The two sat down with a cup of coffee. General Hammond leaned up against something. That something turned out to be Sam's Jacket with an O'Neill nametag. "Major?"

"I guess I have a lot of explaining." Sam said. At this point, General Hammond focused on the rings on Sam's left hand.

Sam started with the transfer orders going through the wedding and concluding with the night that Feretti came and brought Cassie to her. The conversation lasted through two post of Coffee. After Sam finished, she turned to the sounds of grunting, "YOU PROMISED!" Cassie yelled. Sam got up to go to her but Cassie backed away, "YOU PROMISED THAT YOU WOULD NEVER TALK ABOUT THEM AGAIN! YOU PROMISED! I HATE YOU!" Cassie yelled and then ran back to her room slamming the door.

Sam fell onto the floor crying. General Hammond enveloped Sam in a hug. He got her up and put her in a chair. He decided to call and make time to go see Colonel Tims. Hammond was going to try and get things right. He left out immediately after taking Sam's key.

In Tims' office, Hammond was surprised that he did not put up a fight. Tims had no need for a theoretical astrophysicist and was unsure as to why she was transferred there. Tims did however take this time to express his concerns for the Majors' health. He then insisted for a physical before Sam was transferred. Hammond had no problem with this.

When Hammond got back to Sam's apartment, he noticed Sam asleep on the couch. He went to check on Cassie. She was asleep on the bed. He took this time to call his daughter. After explaining the situation, she agreed that more days of vacation could not hurt.

When Sam awoke, she bolted straight to the bathroom. When she emerged, she noticed Hammond standing there, "How long have you been like this?" He asked.

"Excuse me?" Sam asked.

"How long have you been sick?" Hammond clarified.

"Since Feretti came." Sam headed into the kitchen.

"Well, Major, I have some news. You are now reassigned to the SGC but before your transfer will be complete, you must undergo a physical and that is an order." Hammond said. "Now it is time for dinner."

By the end of the week, the six of them, including General Hammond's daughter and granddaughters were back at the SGC. There was a fury of mixed emotions. The SGC seemed to be in a solemn state yet they were joyous to the return of General Hammond and Sam.

Cassie's attitude seemed to change when they came home. Cassie was once again around her friends, which seemed to help. The big change was when Sam forced Cassie to talk about the deaths of their family. Sam was reluctant at first, but when she found out she was pregnant, she knew she had to force the issue.

Four months later, things came to an abrupt stop. Cassie had been skipping school, or when she was in school, she was in the office. Sam had set up a lab in her house, (well Jack's house) so that she could be home when Cassie returned. She had been pulled off of active fieldwork, however, every so often, it was needed for Sam to go through the gate. On that rare case, she was SG1. SG2 had taken over the flagshipness of SG1 stature.

Sam had gone to base one day to talk with General Hammond and to install a new computer system, which would reduce the power, needed to generate the gate. The project turned out to take longer than anticipated. Feretti volunteered to pick up Cassie and watch her. That was one less thing that Sam had to worry about. Sam was caught up at the computer when a hand on her shoulder interrupted her concentration

"Major O'Neill." Hammond said. "Take a break," he ordered.

"Sir..." Sam started to protest.

"Just get in my office now, Major. I swear you inherited more than just the O'Neill name." Sam smirked at Hammond's statement. Up in the office, Hammond arranged Sam's lunch."

"Thanks, General." Sam said.

"So what is going on with Cassie?" Hammond asked.

"I wish I knew. She has this 17 year old boyfriend." Sam sighed and ate some lunch.

"At 15?" Hammond questioned.

"I am ready to send that child to military school. What happened to that sweet girl we saves a few years ago?" Sam had a tear run down her cheek. "Damn hormones."

"Sam?" General Hammond looked at her. Since things changed, the two developed a more father/daughter relationship.

"I'm sorry. It is rough on her. I can understand that. She has been through more than any of us could imagine."" Sam said.

"So have you, but?" Hammond asked.

"But, she is pissing me off." Sam was blunt and to her it felt good to be blunt. "In fact, I am tired of letting this go." Sam seemed stronger and confident. She got up, "Thanks, Sir, for the lunch and the talk. I have less than an hours work on the computer."

After Sam had completed her work on the computer, she was ready to go home, "Night, Sergeant Siler. Thanks for the help." Sam made her way to the stairs, but it was there that she lost it. Sam passed out and fell down the stairs.

Siler could have sworn that he heard something, "Major?" He called after her and walked to the stairs. Seeing Sam on the floor, Siler took action. "Sergeant Davis, Call medical emergency!"

Davis got on the PA, "Medical Emergency in the control room! Medical Emergency in the control room."

Medical teams were there within seconds. Hammond was there as well. He watched as the medical teams did their job. Another problem arose when it was made known that the SGC was not equipped to handle this sort of medical emergency. Sam was transported to the academy hospital.

Feretti had brought Cassie over and she ran right into Hammond's arms. "How is she?" Cassie asked with sincere concern.

"We do not know yet." Hammond sat down with Cassie in his lap.

"I am sorry. I am sorry that I behaved the way I did. I swear that I am going to change. I am going to be who I was for Sam," There was a sob, "For you, and for the baby. Mom would be disappointed with me." Cassie continued crying.

"Yes she would." Hammond then added, "Everything will be ok."

Suddenly the moment was interrupted when the doctor came out, "Major Samantha O'Neill's family?" He called out.

Both Cassie and General Hammond stood up, "Here," Hammond said. The doctor turned to where General Hammond indicated.

"And you are?" The Doctor questioned.

"General George Hammond, Major O'Neill's commanding officer. This is Cassandra. She is Major O'Neill's niece and only relative that is currently available.

"That is fine. I am rather concerned for Major O'Neill. There is no doubt that the pregnancy went into distress. She was very near a miscarriage. Has she been under an exorbitant about of stress lately?" The doctor asked.

"Yes," Cassie admitted, "I have been difficult and making things too hard on her since my mom, her husband Uncle Jack, and the rest of our family was killed." Cassie then turned in Hammond's arms and cried again.

"I see, well I am going to keep her here a few days to monitor her, then I will let her go home under the guidelines of complete bed rest for the duration of the pregnancy. I also want to have a full time nurse stay with her in the house, seeing there is no one else capable to care for her. I want to see her weight go up. She is underweight for a pregnancy of one child, but seeing as she is carrying twins, she is grossly underweight." The doctor said.

"Twins?" Hammond was flabbergasted and needed to ask.

"Yeah, Didn't you know?" The doctor replied.

"Umm, no." Hammond replied.

"Can we see her?" Cassie asked.

"In about ten minutes. Right now Major O'Neill is being set up in a room." With that last reply the Doctor exited the waiting room and went back into the emergency room.

"I am scared." Cassie stated.

"Why?" Hammond turned back to Cassie.

"How am I going to tell Sam about the baby, now?" Cassie said.

"I am sure she already knows, besides, twins mean twice the love." Hammond smiled.

"That is not what I mean." Cassie snapped.

"Then what do you mean?" Hammond lost his smile and showed a face of concern.

"I'm Pregnant." Cassie finally admitted.

"Cassie, are you sure?" Hammond asked.

"Yeah, I am. A friend got me some tests and they all came out positive. I have not seen a doctor yet, though." Cassie paused for a moment, "I never meant for this to happen." Cassie cried.

"Tell me what happened." Hammond ordered more than asked.

"I snuck out one night with my now ex-boyfriend." Cassie began.

"The 17 year old boy?" Hammond asked.

"No, he is a different boyfriend, this is a different guy altogether. The father is 20." Cassie said.

"Go on." Hammond said as he tensed up at the thought.

"Anyway, I snuck out, and he wanted to have sex, but I said that I was not ready and I did not want to. I guess you can say he seduced me. He convinced me that this was what I wanted. Right after, I broke up with him. He is the only one I had sex with. I want to keep the baby." Cassie said.

"Oh, Cassie." Hammond said.

"I never told Sam because she caught me sneaking back in and we had a fight. That was 3 months ago." Cassie seemed to straighten up after talking about it.

"Cassie, You have to tell Sam. And tomorrow, I am taking you to see a doctor. Good thing graduation is in two weeks. You will not have to miss any of your schooling." Hammond had to think.

"I messed up and disappointed everyone." Cassie said.

"Yes, you did, however, we still love you. Now lets go see Sam." Hammond
said.

The next three months had its toll on everyone. Sam was upset that she could not be at Cassie's graduation, however she seemed ok with the fact that she could settle for the video. Sam also surprised everyone by the way she took the news about Cassie's pregnancy. Sam started to perk up and help Cassie make plans with the baby's room. In return, this made Sam get a bit stronger herself.

During this time, General Hammond, along with Kayla and Tessa moved into the house. Tragedy struck the SGC once again when Hammond's house was broken into and torched as a part of a long string of arson crimes lately. Hammond's daughter was home at the time and it resulted in her death. With this, Sam knew that the house was not big enough, but she refused to sell Jack's house. She loved the place too much. From her bed, she arranged for an addition to be built onto the house for Hammond and the girls to move into.

Kayla and Tessa would spend time with Sam watching movies or reading books. They now bonded with the common element (The death of their mothers). Cassie spent her time cleaning the house, reading up on caring for babies and insuring that everyone remained healthy. She also took advance placement tests to earn college credits for a majority of her studies. She scored so high on so many tests that she basically skipped straight to her junior year in college.

Sam became more and more picky. She did not allow anyone to decorate the nurseries for the twins. She was determined that after the babies were born, she would do it herself. In her mind, these babies were the only babies she would ever have. She did relent and allow Hammond to buy two bassinets when he begged her to let him do something.

At the end of those three months, a routine was set. Suddenly a major event occurred that once again changes the lives of everyone at the SGC.

"Incoming traveler, Incoming Traveler!" Sergeant Davis announced.

Hammond rushed down to the control room, "Iris code?" He asked.

"Coming through now, Sir. It is the Tok'ra"

"Open the Iris." Hammond said. Then he left the control room and headed to great whoever it was in the gate room.

Suddenly Anise stepped though the gate. She was followed (in this order) by Jacob, Daniel and Janet, Teal'c, and finally Jack. Hammond forgot his military protocol and began hugging everyone. "Welcome home SG-1. Report to the infirmary. I have a lot to debrief you on, as I am sure you have to debrief with me."

Everyone filed out of the gate room. Jack decided to report elsewhere. He went straight to Sam's lab. The looks of the startled him. He went to her quarters and they looked the same as the lab. Jack asked questions but no one would tell him anything. He searched for Hammond again. He ended his search on the briefing room where Janet, Jacob, and Hammond waited. "Colonel, weren't you suppose to report to the infirmary?"

"Well I had something more important to do." Jack said, "Where is Sam, General? Could you not get her back from Iceland? Her lab and quarters both look as if no one has been there for months!" Jack started ranting.

"Jack, sit down." Hammond ordered and Jack complied. "I might as well start debriefing you." Just then Daniel came in and took his seat next to Janet. Teal'c followed. "We will be debriefing over your mission at Jack's house later." Everyone one looked strangely at Hammond for a second. "It all started when I ran into Major O'Neill when my trip ended up in Iceland. She explained how a couple of weeks earlier, Feretti came and brought Cassie to her and the circumstances which lead to that event. Before Major Carter was transferred, she had to undergo a physical by request of her CO there. It was at that time we found out she was pregnant. After that, we all returned back to Colorado Springs together. Cassie started rebelling and acting up, skipping school, going around with 17 and 20-year-old boys. With my approval, we moved Major O'Neill's lab to the house and she worked at home to be with Cassie. When Sam came onto base one day, she collapsed. The doctor ordered her into bed rest for the duration of the pregnancy. She only has about a month left to go. You should see her, she is getting quite excited about getting back to work. Anyway, I am getting sidetracked here. Since then, Cassie has straightened up her act. Thought I am afraid that she has paid the price for her behavior." Hammond turned to Janet, "She said that you would be disappointed in the way she was behaving. Anyway, the 20-year-old boy convinced her that she wanted to do something that she did not want to do. Cassie is now 6 months pregnant." Janet has taken a tight hold on Daniel's hand. "Janet, she is really doing well. In the last 3 months, she got her act together, and made up the time that she skipped from school so that she is now a high school graduate. She has been taken placement exams to earn enough college credits to be a junior in college."

"But she is just a baby herself. She is just 15. Almost 16." Janet said in horror.

"Thing is, she took her mistake and made it better. She can survive and make it something great. She already convinced the father to give up all parental rights to the child. She told him that she would charge him with rape if he did not." Hammond said.

"Sir, I want to go home now." Jack said and everyone agreed.

At the house, Sam took her ten minutes out of bed to go downstairs. Usually she would take a shower, but she wanted to go into the kitchen. "Major O'Neill?" The nurse questioned.

"I am thirsty for some chocolate milk. Don't get up. I will get it." Sam then went to the cabinet where the glasses were kept. She became upset, "Where are the glasses!" Sam yelled.

The nurse came rushing into the kitchen, "I moved them. I rearranged the kitchen to make it more efficient." The nurse said.

"MOVE THEM BACK. THE OTHER WAY WAS THE WAY JACK HAD THEM. HE LIKED THEM THAT WAY! MOVE THEM BACK!" Sam sank to the ground crying.

Jack made it home in time to see Sam's outburst. He motioned for the nurse to leave. Finally it was General Hammond that had pulled the nurse out of the kitchen. Jack bent down to Sam and put his hands on her face wiping away her tears, "Sam, look at me." Jack got no response. It was as if she was back in that catatonic state he found her in once before. Then Jack moved in, placing a hand on her belly. Keeping a protective hand. He decided to finally take Daniel's advice on the way it works in fairy tales. Jack moved in close and kissed Sam. Sam 'awoke' and noticed that in fact the kiss was not a dream. They spent the next few moments holding each other. Jack finally got up and then picked up Sam, "Let's get you back to bed."

When Sam was finally settled in and down for a nap, Jack went back out into the living room. He glanced around and took note of everyone. Jacob was talking with General Hammond, while playing with Kayla and Tessa. Janet and Cassie were cuddling on the couch. Janet had her hand on Cassie's stomach feeling the baby kick. Daniel and Teal'c decided to cook everyone some real food.

The next two weeks was noting but commotion in the O'Neill household. The addition had been completed, so Hammond and the girls moved into their new rooms. Cassie had moved back home with Janet, and Daniel, who had moved in as well. Jack took his time and decorated two nurseries. One was the theme of space and the other was an under the sea theme. Sam was excited to see the two rooms completed.

Sam was now resting in bed when she started screaming for Jack. She has a strange nightmare where she saw Jack killed then he lived to be killed again a different way, and yet lived again and so on. Jack rushed to her side and woke her up. "Sam, come on Love, it is just a bad dream." Sam awoke and hugged Jack. Things took another angle when Jack noticed that the bed was all wet, "Sam, how do you feel?" He asked.

"Well my back hurt." Sam replied.

"Sam, we need to go." Jack said picking her out of bed.

"Go?" Sam asked.

"To have our babies. Your water broke when you were sleeping, Love." Sam then looked at the bed and noticed the wet spot.

About 10 hours later, Sam was fully dilated and ready to give birth. As the first child came out, panic set in with the two parents as the child was quickly handed off. The infant would not breathe. Then worrying became more intense as the second child emerged. The second baby was shown to the parents and then taken for the usual weight, height, etc. The first baby still had yet to take its first breath. Jack watched from Sam's side as they tried to revive the child. Finally little choice remained and they had to put an end to the CPR. Sam and Jack held each other as they cried for their son. When the nurses brought the other baby, they knew they had to be strong for their daughter.

Jack would not leave Sam, so he sent a nurse out to tell the others. Jacob came into the room to be with Sam. He thought that she would need him. He was right. He did get to hold his granddaughter while Sam and Jack were given the boy to hold and say their farewells to. Jacob, though as horrible as it sounds, took pictures of them with the boy, so there would be always be some reminder of the little boy who could not live his life.

A few days later, the SGC turned out for yet another funeral. They all came out to bid their good-byes to the little boy they never knew, Matthew Robert O'Neill.

Two days later, Cassie was admitted for premature labor. (Being just shy of the 7 month mark) The labor progressed quickly so there was not choice but to follow through with delivery. It amazed everyone just how perfectly healthy the 4-pound girl was.

The year that followed seemed to be a great year. Janet and Daniel married, the arsonist was captured and sentenced to death for the death of Hammond's daughter. Sam had gone back to work after Alaina (Lainey) turned six months ld. Jack never went off world without Sam again. Jacob found himself more and more on Earth than with the Tok'ra. He and Selmak became the official Tok'ra Ambassadors. Jacob was then reinstated as General and now co-runs the SGC with General Hammond. General Hammond now spends time at home along with Sam and Jack when it comes to raising Kayla, Tessa, and Lainey.

On this day, everyone was gathering, at the Jackson household to celebrate Marnia's first Birthday. Cassie named the child after the mother that gave her life. Cassie had also completed duel bachelor degrees in Chemistry and Psychology.

Sam and Jack walked around to the back yard where the party was being held.

"I think they are really going all out." Jack whispered to Sam as he balanced his daughter on his shoulders.

"What do you expect? Janet, deep down is enjoying her granddaughter more than she lets on. I see it in her eyes. Besides I seem to remember a party last week that a certain father had to have just perfect." Sam smiled.

"Jack! Sam! Great, you are here." Daniel then reached for Lainey, "Come to Uncle Daniel." Lainey laughed and quickly went into Daniel's arms.

"How quick she is to leave me." Jack pretended to be hurt. Sam smiled and pulled him to her.

As soon as Sam could get shifted in the right position, she commented, "But I will always be here."

Jack kissed Sam and then led her to a lounger chair where they both sat. Cassie the got up to say a few words. "Thanks for coming. I want to thank everyone, especially Sam because I know that Marnia and I would not have made it without everyone. Well enough sappiness, Let's eat." Cassie then gave her daughter (who was being held by Janet) a kiss.

Janet then turned to the group, "One more thing, since everybody is here, Daniel and I wanted to announce that...well that is to say we..."

"For cryin' out loud," Jack blurted out, "Just spit it out."

"We're Pregnant!" Both Daniel and Janet said.
