SPOILERS: Summer Season Finale The Lost City Season 7
SUMMARY: This is in response to the Summer Finale Challenge. This is ONLY PART ONE! Part 2 is started, but it was getting to long to post at one time. Once part 2 is done it will be right up, it shouldn't take to long to finish! But no summary just let me know what you think! This is my first attempt at Stargate Fanfiction.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Stargate SG-1 or any of it's characters (even though I would love to own Daniel =0). Everything about the show belongs to MGM!
She was in utter shock. Her body moving mechanically through the halls of the mountain. The words that General Hammond had just spoken kept running through her head...over and over and over again. But the one word that stuck out, that one word was like a shot to her heart. KIDNAPPED. Her Daniel was gone from her again. He was supposed to be back in a couple of days. He was supposed to return to her, safe and sound. But that word, kidnapped, that word was destroying her. She had not so long ago gotten him back. When he had returned they had finally been able to open up to each other and realize that there was something more than friendship there. They had fallen in love. Now he was gone again. She could handle him going off world only because she knew that Jack, Sam and Teal'c would watch him. They wouldn't let anything seriously bad happen to him, especially since his return. They had been watching him like a bear would her cub. Sure he had come back injured on some occasions, but never something that would take him from her again. She couldn't handle this, she just couldn't.

This was not the way it was supposed to happen. They were supposed to come here, find the temple, get what they needed and head home. Simple enough. Sure he knew that they might have some difficulty finding the temple, but he had faith that they would. But this was definitely not supposed to happen!
And Janet! Oh God Janet! He knew, even though she didn't voice it, that this was her biggest fear. The fear of something happening to him and not returning to her. *She must be a wreck* he thought to himself as he let his head fall forward and wiped the sweat off of his face with his bandana. To be honest he was a wreck himself. He was worried out of his mind that he and Dr. Lee wouldn't get out of this. Give him the goa'uld any day, he could handle that. The only reason being is that Jack, Sam and Teal'c would be there for that. But here it was just him and Dr. Lee, and to be honest Dr. Lee was no fighter. He was a civilian like himself, though Daniel was in quite a bit better shape than him. He glanced over at the man and saw pure fear etched across his face. Sure Daniel was worried, but he tried his best not to show it. He had been off world enough to know that when in trouble don't let the enemy see that your afraid. But then again he wasn't really sure exactly how often Dr. Lee had been off world. He knew of one time and that planet hadn't even been inhabited.
"Do you really think that they're going to kill one of us?" He asked Daniel as he kept staring at the door from which their captors had just left.
"I'm not really sure. I have a feeling that they know that they'll get more money or whatever it is that they want if both of us are alive." Daniel answered as he closed his eyes.
"Oh God...I really don't want to die. I mean really don't want to die." Lee said over and over again.
"Look you have to get yourself together. If you don't there's no way both of us will leave here alive." Daniel sighed as his fellow scientist seemed to calm down a bit. "Now we have think, think of a way to get out of here."
"You mean like escape?" Dr. Lee asked as he looked over at Daniel.
"Yes, escape. It's either that or we sit here and pray that the SGC is able to find us and get us out of here before it's too late." Daniel moved to his knees and looked around their small enclosure. "Or did you want to stay here and see what they decide to do to us." Daniel turned to face Dr. Lee.
"Um, no that's ok. So do you have a plan of some sorts?" Lee asked as he looked around.
"Nope no plan yet. But I'm positive that something will pop into my mind before long." Daniel sighed as he attempted to concentrate on the task at hand, of getting out of there. But needless to say his mind kept going back to Janet. He had grown to love her more and more each day. They had been dating for a while. But their relationship hadn't gone further than light touches and kisses. They had talked about going further, but that one right moment hadn't presented itself yet. She had told him that she wanted it to be slow and special. He shook his head lightly, if he kept thinking along those lines, he would never find a way to get back to her.

"Ok we know the general vicinity that they were last in." General Hammond pointed to a spot on the map on the projector. "There are no known roads in that area. We have found a guide for you to show you the way there. But once there he is to leave you and head back to the village. The less civilians from there that know what's going on the better." General Hammond looked around the room at the three teams that would be going on the search and rescue. SG-1 would head up the group with Colonel O'Neill in charge. The other teams would be SG-3 and SG-7. They were the best teams that the SGC had and the command would spare no expense in order to bring their two scientists back...alive. "Your to go out there and find any sign of where they may have been taken. Then you are to search them out and bring them home."
"Where are we going to be dropped off General?" Sam asked from next to Jack and Teal'c. They were all worried about Daniel. They were pretty confident that he could handle himself if he was caught in a fight, but this was their Daniel. They were all the closest of friends, more like family than anything else. They spent as much time together off base as the did on. They all knew each other inside and out. They trusted each other completely and would do anything for each other. The fact that Daniel had once again been taken from them was tearing them all up inside. It wasn't just that he was taken from them, but the fact that they weren't there to help him. And now he was trapped somewhere having these people do who knows what to him. She wasn't just upset about losing him, she was downright angry that someone would take two archeologist...two harmless archeologist.
"Did you get that Major Carter?" General Hammond asked looking at her intently.
"Oh, um yes sir thank you sir." Ok so she really didn't hear a word he said but she would ask Jack later.
"Ok everyone, remember I want both Dr. Lee and Dr. Jackson brought back here. Is that understood?"
"Yes Sir, understood." Was the chorus around the table. They were all ready to get out there and get their men back. They would leave in 2 hours time and not returning until they had Daniel and Dr. Lee in their custody.
"Your dismissed then, you are to meet topside in exactly two hours." With that everyone rose and left the room quickly to prepare to leave.
When everyone was gone Jack, Sam and Teal'c were left alone.
"Carter, you alright?" Jack asked as he picked up this things off of the table.
"I'm fine sir, a bit worried, but fine." Sam said as she picked up her things. "I'm all ready packed to go, I'm going to go and talk to Janet and see how she's doing. She didn't look to good the last time I saw her."
Sam turned to walk out the door when Jack reached out and put a hand on her arm, "Sam make sure she knows that we will bring him back here. That we won't let anything happen to him. Make sure she knows that."
"Will do sir." With that Sam walked off leaving her other team members to head off themselves to pack, even though she was sure that the moment that they had found out that Daniel was missing they had already prepared to go and find him.

"Hey Janet you in here?" Sam asked as she looked around the empty infirmary.
A passing nurse pointed to Janet's office door which was closed, signaling that the missing doctor was in there. Peering into the window Sam could see Janet leaned over some paperwork. Ever since Daniel had been marked as missing Janet had been pouring herself in to her work. On the outside she didn't look to bad, unless you knew her like Sam did. Sam saw Janet the way she really was. Janet was exhausted she could see it in her eyes, they weren't as bright and open as they usually were, they were dull and not showing the Janet that she knew. Sam knew that she was very good at hiding what she was feeling, she could easily fool anybody who didn't really know her. Sam was really worried about her. But she knew in order for Janet to relax and get back to normal they had to bring Daniel back to her.
Sam knocked softly on the door and waited for a response. When none came she opened the door slowly and called out Janet's name. When she still received no response she opened the door all of the way and quietly walked in.
"Hey Janet do you have a minute?" Sam asked as she closed the door behind her.
"What do you need?" Janet asked without looking up from her work.
Sam took a close look at what she was doing and noticed that the doctor wasn't writing on the pad in front of her. Her hand just rested on it. Her fingers tightly wrapped around the pen that she held, like it was her only lifeline.
"Janet?" Sam said softly as she moved a chair over to sit next to her friend gently placing her hand on her shoulder.
"Sam?" Janet shook her head slightly as if coming out of a trance. "What are you doing here?"
"I haven't talked to you since we found out about Daniel and I wanted to see how you were doing?" Sam said softly.
Janet turned back to her desk and started rearranging files not looking at Sam as she answered, "oh I'm fine. Pretty busy trying to catch up on my work and all."
Sam sat silent for a minute waiting for Janet to stop her movements and look at her. She did stop moving things around and put her hands in her lap, but refused to look at Sam.
"Janet you can talk to me." Sam said as she reached out to put her hand on her arm. Janet quickly moved away from the contact. "Janet please talk to me. We're leaving in about an hour and a half, but I need to know that your ok."
"Sam you have to promise me something." Janet said almost to quiet for Sam to hear. She moved her chair closer. Janet turned to face her, tears streaming down her face, "you have to bring him back Sam. I can't stand the thought of not having him near. You have to bring him back."
"Oh Janet." Sam engulfed her friend in a hug. "He goes off world all of the time. There's the same chance of something happening to him on another world as there is now except he's on Earth."
"It's not the same Sam, your not with him, Jack and Teal'c are not with him. He's out there with Dr. Lee. And who knows what those people are planning on doing with him and Dr. Lee."
"Janet look at me." Sam moved back as Janet raised her head. "Daniel is a very very strong man. He will do everything in his power to ensure his safety as well as Dr. Lee's. I would trust him with my life if it came down to it. And the one thing that I know would keep him going is that he loves you Janet. Over these past months he has been so happy, I haven't seen him this happy in all of the years that I've worked with him. He will make it through this. And we'll bring him back here."
Janet sat up straight and wiped her eyes with a tissue from her desk. "Your right he is strong, he'll make it. He'll be fine." She sighed deep and closed her eyes trying to compose herself. "Thank you Sam."
Both women stood up and embraced. "Just hang in there we'll bring him back to you."
****************************
"Ok, so this is what I figure." Daniel whispered as he sat back down next to Dr. Lee. "From what I can see there are no guards posted right outside here. So by night fall we might possibly be able to jimmy the handle on the door open and sneak away then."
"But what about around the camp, I'm sure there are men posted away from us." Dr. Lee stammered.
"I can't see anything to far beyond this box they have us in. My glasses got knocked off when the water hit us in the temple." Daniel motioned to the crack that he had been looking through, "did you want to take a stab at it and see what you can see out there."
Dr. Lee raised up on his knees and started to make his way to the crack that Daniel was looking through, but before he could move any further the door flew open. Dr. Lee quickly moved back to his seat next to Daniel and looked at the ground.
"Well now what do we have here. You aren't going to try anything stupid now are you?" Before either of them could react a one of the men entered the shack and drug Daniel out.
