SUMMARY: When Plan A goes south and Plan B fails, how will Sam and Teal'c escape from the clutches of Apophis?
RATING: PG-13, to be on the safe side
SPOILERS: Anything before Abyss.
DISCLAIMER: If I owned Stargate, Jack and Sam would have received a very special letter from the President ages ago, and each episode would contain at least a little of Janet. Playing. With Daniel's. Hair.
So basically, they arent mine. Get it?
Samantha Carter glanced up as the door of her cell opened. In walked two Jaffa and, judging by the lack of a tattoo on the third man's forehead, a Goa'uld. Her suspicions were confirmed when she heard a distinctly gravely voice command "Leave us." The two Jaffa muttered quick "Yes, my lord"s and left. Fast.
Uh oh. If the Jaffa acted as if they feared this guy more than Apophis himself, he was seriously bad news. She was definitely in trouble.
Well, more trouble, anyway.
"Who are you?" she demanded, proud of how calm and fearless she sounded.
"I am Hal'con, Commander in Chief of Apophis' fleet. I have been sent here by Apophis to show you his power, and to put fear in your heart."
Sam took a deep breath. She was going to bait the tiger. If she upset him enough, maybe he would lose control, and she would lose consciousness before she could be forced to betray her people.
"Yeah, right. Y'know Hal'con, not to insult your intelligence or anything, but generally, when you're trying to scare someone, you don't let them know it." She grinned, amazed at how much she sounded like Jack O'Neill. "It kinda ruins the effect." She paused, fully expecting to be backhanded for her remark. Instead, Hal'con looked at her and chuckled with genuine amusement. To Sam's surprise, he didn't sound remotely evil.
"You are every bit as spirited as I have heard, Samantha Carter. Your father has told me a lot about you."
"My father wouldn't tell a Goa'uld the time of day," she spat. "Let alone anything about me." She was amazed- who did this guy think he was?
Hal'con's grin widened, and for an instant she caught a glimpse of something smug flash in his eyes. "You are correct," he responded. "Jacob Carter would not tell Hal'con, Commander of Apophis' fleet, anything. However, he has told much about you to his good friend, Hal'con of the Tok'ra."
Understanding dawned in Sam's eyes. "You're a Tok'ra spy, aren't you?"
"Exactly. Your father wanted me to tell you that they have a plan to get you out of here."
"I figured as much. The Asguard are involved too, right?"
He looked at her in amazement. "How did you know that?"
She shook her head. "It's a long story. So, what's the plan?"
*~*~*~
On the Asguard ship, Teal'c was preparing to enter the Cargo ship, while Jacob and Thor were positioning the bomb in an extra compartment, trying to make it look an inconspicuous as possible. Everyone was in a subdued mood. Nobody wanted Teal'c in the hands of Apophis, but they didn't want to abandon Sam either. Jack in particular felt bad. Teal'c was one of his best friends, but Sam was- well, Sam was Sam. His 2iC, the one always there for him, and, as he was beginning to admit to himself, the love of his life. He swore to himself that if- no, when, she came back, he wouldn't let a silly thing like regs stand in the way again.

On Earth, General Hammond was again talking to Apophis.
"So, General, have you decided? Will you surrender the Shol'va?"
Hammond sighed. "Against my better judgement, Teal'c has agreed. He will approach you in a cargo ship in less than an hour."

Hal'con was wrapping up his explanation of the plan. "I will leave your cell unlocked, but when the ship shakes, stay in your cell. If after a minute you have not been transported to an Asguard vessel, then the original plan has failed. As you leave the cell, look for the zat I have hidden in a compartment near the door. Turn left towards the secondary shuttle bay. Teal'c should have escaped by then, and will meet you there. Do you have any questions?" When Sam shook her head no, he said, "then I must go. Already I have spent too much time here."
As Hal'con stepped out of Sam's cell, he drew a communications device out of a pocket. "My Lord Apophis, I have just finished with the prisoner." He paused. "Yes my Lord. She has been suitably enlightened. Are we ready for stage two?" Another pause. "Yes, my Lord. When the Shol'va arrives, I will have him brought to you on the bridge.

The time had come for Teal'c to leave. One by one, his friends wished him good luck and a speedy return. He thanked them gravely and climbed into the ship, activating the primary systems. The shuttle bay doors opened, and he directed the ship to fly towards Apophis' mothership.
When he approached the ship, a small grid in the shields opened long enough or his ship to pass through. Briefly he entertained the thought that the Asguard might be able to transport them both out through the opening, but it closed before they got a chance. He was, as his human friends liked to say, on his own.
*~*~*~
Five minutes after Teal'c's ship entered the shuttle bay, Jack said, "Allright, he should be far enough away by now. Detonate the bomb." The viewscreen flashed as a small portion of Apophis' ship exploded. The shields flickered, but held.
Thor verified what everyone saw when he told them, "The shields are weakened, but only slightly. We cannot transport them out."
Jack stared unblinkingly at the viewscreen. "Damnit."
*~*~*~
A minute or so after the ship shook violently, Sam came to the realization that help was not coming. She would have to get out on her own. She opened the door to her cell that was, as Hal'con had promised, unlocked. After grabbing the zat, she turned left and proceeded down the hallway, the weapon pointed out in front of her. Once she encountered a lone Jaffa; she zatted him before he could sound the alarm and, with some effort, dragged him into a nearby storage closet before continuing on her way. Fortunately, she encountered no other resistance, and found her way to the secondary shuttle bay with little trouble.
The shuttle bay was small, and the dust that coated the floor led her to believe it was seldom used. A solitary set of footprints led to the only ship in the bay, and she let out a sigh of relief. Teal'c must have beaten her here. The ramp leading up into the cargo ship was open, and she climbed up into the vessel.
After pushing a button to close the ramp behind her, she turned around and saw not Teal'c, but Hal'con.
"Hal'con? What are you doing here? Have the Tok'ra decided to extract-." She didn't get a chance to finish her question before Hal'con's huge fist collided with the side of her head, and she lost consciousness.

"O'Neill, the Goa'uld ship is transmitting a message." Thor stated.
Jack looked away from the viewscreen. "To Earth?" he asked.
"No," Thor responded. He is broadcasting on a general frequency. I believe he is trying to speak to us." The image on the viewscreen changed, becoming an image of Apophis.
"I now have proof that the Asguard have interfered with a planet under the Protected Planets Treaty, against the laws set by that agreement. Since the mighty Asguard see fit to set aside these time- honored agreements, I will now do the same, and no other Goa'uld will rise up to stop me. Your precious Tau'ri will soon be eliminated."
For almost an entire minute there was silence on the bridge of the Asguard vessel. Unconsciously, Janet reached out for Daniel's hand. He gripped it tightly.
"But that's crazy!" Jack shouted. You haven't violated the treaty, have you?"
Thor gazed at him. "No. Indeed, the Asguard High Council analyzed this situation in detail to ensure no violation would occur before they permitted me to help."
"So then why does Apophis think there was?" asked Jacob tightly. He was imagining what Apophis might be doing to Sam.
Theus cleared his throat, startling those who had almost forgotten he was in the room. "I may have the answer to that. You see, for years before I left, it was suspected that my brother Torin was insane. My father always did his best to quash the rumors, making sure the public saw him frequently as being completely well, doing things every young monarch liked to do."
Janet interrupted. "If he was thought to be insane, why didn't your father try to get him help?"
"Many people, my mother included, fought to get him help, but my father refused. Our people feel that their safety lies on the strength of the Royal House. My father believed that if it became known that one of the Royal Family was insane, it would lead many to question the mental health of the entire Family, and cause some violent reactionaries to try and overthrow him. So Torin was left to fend for himself."
"That's it!" Jacob exclaimed. "The personality of the host can sometimes imprint itself on the symbiote," here, several people glanced at Jack, who had learned this the hard way. "If Torin truly was insane, the meld probably served to push Apophis' megalomania over the edge. He's completely lost it."
Jack groaned. "This is just great. Not only are Sam and Teal'c in the hands of a complete sociopath, but now that same wacko is threatening to destroy Earth. Great, just great."
"It is highly unlikely that Apophis will be able to carry out his threat." Thor said. "The Asguard always observe hyperspace travel around Earth. If any Goa'uld mothership were to approach Earth, we would know it well in advance. Observe." Again the image on the viewscreen changed, becoming a detailed map of Earth's solar system. It was clearly devoid of any Goa'uld activity.
Suddenly the image blinked, and six new images appeared on the viewscreen. They were all Goa'uld motherships, and they had the Earth surrounded.
"Holy Hannah," Jacob whispered.
