their bad luck continue?
SPOILERS/SEASON: season 5

DISCLAIMER: I don't own stargate or any of its characters. Gekko,
MGM, and some more lucky people like that do. I'm in college and I
own nothing, so there's no point in coming after me.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hope you guys like the way this series is going. I
know I'm dragging it out. Isn't it wonderful? *vbeg* I've decided I
really need to take more eighteen hour plane trips (as this was the
impetus for this being written).
DEDICATION: to everyone that's encouraged me to write, especially
those at the beginning, namely Bryn, Linz, Alli, AJ, Pepsi, and
Angel. Thanks so much guys.
Janet sighed and ran a hand over the back of her neck. A quick glance
down at her watch confirmed what she already knew.
12:57. One minute later than the last time she'd checked. And two
minutes later than the time before that.
She shifted restlessly in her chair. It was almost one o'clock, and
she hadn't seen Daniel all day!
Janet focused her eyes back on the file in front of her with an
effort and realized she had no idea what the first three pages of the
report had said. She determinedly flipped the file closed and left
the office.
"Page me if you need me," she called to the nurse on duty as she
breezed out the door. If Daniel wasn't coming to her, she'd darn well
come to him.
***
Daniel shifted his stiff shoulders as he sat hunched over his newest
artifact. SG-14 had brought it back on their last mission, and Daniel
was fascinated by it. He'd been working on it for four hours straight
and he felt like he was just a hair away from figuring it out.
A rap at the door and "Daniel?" broke his concentration. On the other
side of the door, Janet took a step back as she heard Daniel break
out into a stream of some language she didn't recognize, and he
didn't sound happy. 'Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. I
mean Daniel would have come by already if he wasn't doing something
important, right?'
Daniel's hand fell limply to the desk, and his other ran a frustrated
stroke through his hair. He took a deep breath to calm himself, then
called out "come in" in what he hoped was a composed tone.
Janet peeked her head around the door with chagrin. "Hi there." She
stepped just inside the door when she saw that Daniel's frown changed
to a small smile when he saw her.
She noticed the object in front of him and began to back out of the
office. "I'm *so* sorry. I'm interrupting you."
"No!" Daniel grabbed her wrist and gently tugged her back into the
room. He sat down in the office chair in the corner of his room then
tugged once more. Janet was taken off guard and fell into his lap. "I
could use a break anyway." He grinned at her.
Janet returned his smile and settled herself more comfortably into
his lap. "So," she said with a cheeky grin, "You think this is going
to be a break, huh?"
Daniel's grin grew wicked. "Well, I suppose it could be quite..." he
paused, and Janet waited, holding her breath as Daniel's lips hovered
dangerously close to hers, "strenuous."
"Oh, I hope so," she sighed just before his lips covered hers.

"Hey, Bill! You *gotta* come take a look at this."

Sam knocked on the door of Janet's office and waited. When she got no
reply, she frowned, puzzled. 'Now where could she be?' They were
supposed to meet for a friendly, chatty lunch, she was late, and
Janet didn't seem to be in her office. 'She wouldn't have gone
without me, would she?'
They hadn't gotten drunk the night before after all. It was much more
interesting to talk about a certain archeologist's presence at
Janet's house. 'And avoid talking about a certain colonel.' Janet had
been more than willing to talk and was easily distracted from mention
of the said colonel. And Sam hadn't needed to ply her with alcohol to
get all the juicy details. So they'd had a long night of chatting and
dreaming and pondering. They'd decided to get together for lunch and
talk some more, commissary company permitting of course.
Sam only hoped Janet realized how luck she was. She sighed. 'If
only.'
She shook herself firmly and banished the thought to the far reaches
of her brain with a severe frown.
Finally, a nurse saw her standing in front of Janet's closed office
door. "Major Carter?"
Sam turned around, slightly startled. "Yes."
"Are you looking for Dr. Fraiser?"
Sam nodded her head. "Yes, I am."
"Oh, she left about fifteen minutes ago."
"She wasn't going to lunch was she?" Sam asked.
I'm not sure." She stopped to think. "She didn't say so. I can page
her if it's important." The nurse waited expectantly for her reply.
Sam waved a dismissing hand. "No. No need. I'll be in my lab if she
wants to find me."
"Yes, ma'am. I'll tell her when she returns." The nurse turned back
to her chart, and Sam left the infirmary with a speculative smile on
her face. She had an idea where Janet was and she wasn't about to be
the one to disturb her.

Daniel was trailing kisses down Janet's neck as he tugged her shirt
from her skirt. His tee shirt was draped over a precarious stack of
files, where Janet had tossed it earlier. She was currently driving
Daniel to distraction with the patterns she was tracing on his bare
chest. Not that he was complaining mind you.
He groaned when she skimmed the waistband of his fatigue pants. "God,
Janet."
She giggled, then whispered in his ear. "So I'm a deity now?" He
looked up at her with surprised to be met by and innocent-faced
Janet.
'Or not so innocent,' he thought as she repeated the action. "Oh,
definitely."
Janet laughed again until Daniel cut off the sound with his lips.
*****
Teal'c paused in the hallway and cocked his head to the side, his
eyebrow raised. There seemed to be feminine laughter emerging from
DanielJackson's office.
He continued to listen and heard the sound again, although the second
laugh was cut off midstream. It was followed by what sounded
distinctively like a moan.
Teal'c continued his journey down the corridor to the briefing room,
deciding he would bring the subject up at a "more appropriate time"
as the Tau'ri liked to put it.
An airman in the hall could have sworn he saw a hint of a smile on
Teal'c's face as the jaffa passed him.
*****
"General Hammond."
George looked up to see a lieutenant standing at attention just
inside his door. "What is it, lieutenant?"
"Sir, there's something you should see."
George sighed. "I have a briefing in..." he glanced at his watch,
"six minutes."
"This won't take long, sir."
He sighed as he followed the lieutenant. What was the trouble now?
*****
Janet couldn't believe this was happening. Her blouse hung open,
untucked, and she was in a chair straddling one Doctor Daniel Jackson
as he placed open-mouthed kisses along her collarbone. The hands on
her thighs were slowly inching her skirt upward. 'I must have been
really good in a past life.' Her head fell back and a small moan
escaped her lips.
Daniel worked his way down until he reached the valley of her breasts
where her dog tags lay. She felt him smile as he nugged them aside
with his nose and he continued his journey. She lazily pulled her
head back up and kissed his forehead as she held him to her.
*****
"Go, Dr. D!" The technician felt a frantic tapping on his shoulder
from a fellow tech.
"What?" he asked, exasperated at being distracted from the screen. He
turned and froze. "Um, General Hammond, sir."
"Step away from the screen please, son."
"Yes, sir!" He snapped a smart salute and backed away allowing the
general to see the action on the screen that had been hidden from his
view.
General Hammond's eyes grew wide at the sight. "Good God."
"General Hammond?"
The stunned general turned from the screen to the airman standing in
the doorway. "What is it?"
"Your late for your briefing with SG-1, sir."
"Appears I'm not the only one."
*****
"Where the hell is Daniel?" Jack's exasperation was clear as he paced
the length of the briefing room.
"I'm not sure, sir." Sam replied.
"I believe DanielJackson is otherwise occupied." Teal'c answered.
Jack turned abruptly to face the jaffa and was amazed to see a
slight, smug smile on his face.
"Come again?" Jack asked, confusion evident on his face.
Teal'c's expression revealed nothing, aside from the smile that had
vanished, leaving Jack wondering if he had imagined it in the first
place.
"I believe DanielJackson is in his office."
"Oh...kay." Jack's impatience returned. "Well, shouldn't he be here?"
"I do not believe he is aware of the hour."
Sam smiled at this, beginning to realize that her earlier suspicions
were probably correct.
"Well..." Anything further Jack might have said was cut off by
Hammond's entrance.
"Jack, I want you to retrieve Dr. Jackson from his office please."
Hammond ordered as he took his seat at the head of the briefing
table.
"Yes, sir." Jack started for the door.
"Oh, and Jack."
"Yes, sir?"
"Bring Dr. Fraiser too."
"Sir?"
"I want her to sit in on this briefing."
"Yes, sir."
Jack thought he heard a hushed "oh my God!" come from Carter as he
left but shook his head and headed for the infirmary to collect ole
Doc Fraiser before he went after the errant archeologist.
*****
Jack headed to Daniel's office alone. He hadn't found the Doc there
and her nurses didn't seem to know where she'd went. He hadn't stuck
around long enough to get the paging offer Sam had earlier. He
figured he'd collect Daniel and then worry about the Doc.
He knocked on Daniel's door. "Daniel?"
He didn't get a reply and was about to knock again when he heard a
groan come from inside the office.
'Great!' Jack thought. 'Daniel's gone and hurt himself again.'
He turned the knob and stepped into the room. He was not prepared for
what he found.
He had expected to find Daniel huddled on the ground, nursing an
injury from some clumsy accident.
Instead, he was greeted to the sight of Janet Fraiser's bra clad
back. She was straddled over Daniel's lap, a pair of hands that could
only be Daniel's were grasping her hips, and that mouth-to-mouth
action definitely wasn't a medical procedure.
Jack stumbled back and bumped a filing cabinet. The loud bang
startled the couple and they both looked up.
"Jack! Don't you knock?!" Daniel yelped as Janet hurriedly tugged her
skirt down and pulled on her blouse. Both doctors turned interesting
shades of tomato and magenta as Janet, then Daniel, stood up from the
chair. Janet held together the sides of her blouse.
"Daniel, I did!" Jack choked out.
Daniel pulled his shirt over his head. "Oh."
There was a strained silence as the two men eyed each other, neither
knowing what to say. Janet turned her back, buttoning up her shirt
and tidying her appearance.
"So why are you here?" Daniel finally asked.
Jack grinned as he started to become more comfortable with the
situation. "Do you know what time it is?"
"No. Why should I?"
Daniel looked at his watch and Jack waited. "Oh, the briefing!"
Jack nodded. "Oh, Hammond wants you to come too, Doc."
Janet's head shot up. "Me? Why? He didn't request my presence
before."
Jack shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe he needs a medical opinion
on...something."
Daniel and Janet finished fixing their appearances as much as
possible, and Daniel told Jack they'd be right there.
Jack just nodded and hung around in the doorway until Daniel shot him
a pointed look. "Oh!" Jack turned and left, shutting the door behind
him.
Janet smoothed a shaky hand down her skirt and looked at the floor.
"Hey." Daniel placed a finger under he chin and forced her to meet
his eyes. "You okay?"
Janet smiled when she saw the humor twinkling in his eyes, along with
a bit of concern for her. "Embarrassed, but fine."
Daniel grinned back at her and dropped a gentle kiss on her lips. He
squeezed her hand reassuringly, then guided her out of the office
with a hand on her back. "We have a briefing to get to apparently."
*****
The briefing was a pretty standard one. SG-1 was leaving tomorrow for
a planet tomorrow that had no discernable signs of habitation, but
did contain some interesting looking ruins and plant life.
The general asked Janet a few pointless questions she'd already
answered in a report she'd submitted. She guessed to justify her
presence, but she was starting to wonder why exactly she was really
at the briefing.
Jack had been throwing sly grins at Daniel throughout the whole
briefing, and she made a mental note to add a few pointless and
painful tests that included large needles to his next post mission
infirmary visit.
Sam kept shooting her questioning and speculative looks her way, and
Janet knew she was in for another round of fierce questioning later.
And she could have sworn Teal'c was smiling! 'Did everyone suspect?'
Finally, the general called the briefing to a close and Janet a
beeline from the door only to be stopped by Hammond's voice.
"Dr. Jackson. Dr. Fraiser. A word."
Janet slowly turned around and walked back to the table. 'He couldn't
know, could he?'
She and Daniel shared a nervous glance. She looked up and her heart
sank. 'Oh God! He knew.' She wasn't sure how he knew, but she felt
certain he knew. Her hands grew sweaty.
"Yes, sir?" she heard herself say.
General Hammond steepled his fingers and rested his chin lightly on
top of them. "I'm going to say this once, and never mention it again because I'm going to assume it won't be a problem after this."
Janet didn't dare look at Daniel although their hands brushed, under
the table out of the general's sight.
Dr. Jackson. Dr. Fraiser," he paused and let the tension build as he
carefully hid a smile.
"Please be aware that there is a security camera located in Dr.
Jackson's office."
