AUTHOR'S NOTES: This is my very first fanfic ever and I'm from Finland, so sorry about all the mistakes... I felt like I should write something about two very dear things to me: Stargate SG-1 and Aaliyah

A Star In The Sky

The SG-1 team stepped trought the gate. The planet they arrived was beautiful. More than beautiful. It took everyones breath away. There were white and pink roses everywhere. There were ponds and waterfalls. The sky was bright. The birds sang beautifully. Doves fly above them in the sky.

"It's so beautiful.." Carter said and looked around. Daniel came after her and was suprised he hadn't sneezed yet.

"Yes, it is, major." O'Neill said. Teal'c was still in front of the stargate. He still kept guardning. "As much as I would like to be here, I really would, we should check the area. See if we can find some people or something." He continued and started walking furter away from the stargate. The rest of the team followed him.

"Jack, what's the rush? I mean, this appears to be a paradise.." Daniel asked as he rushed to Jack.

"In every paraside, there are snakes. Besides, it's the playoffs and I don't want to lose even one game.." Jack said and smirked.

"Oh. I should have known.."

"Guys, have a look at this!" Carter yelled by the pond. Daniel was the first one to get to the pond.

"Whou..!"

"What is that?"

"You mean *who* is that?"

"It appears to be woman in a pond."

"Thank you, Teal'c."

"Hello!"

"She cannot hear us."

"Maybe she is just a hologram.."

"It's me." A beautiful voice was heard behind them. They turned around and saw a beautiful being in front of them. It was a dark skinned woman wearing beautiful, long, white dress. Her hair was long and black, part of it on her left eye. She smiled and was somehow glowing. They had never saw anything like that. She looked just like.. an angel.

"Who are you?" Carter asked.

"I'm Aaliyah. Nice to meet you."

"Aaliyah.. It's swahili. It means highest, the most exalted one, the best." Daniel said and looked facinated at the young woman. The woman nodded.

"I'm Daniel. This is colonel O'Neill, major Carter and Teal'c. We're from a planet called earth."

The woman kept smiling.

"Of course! You're Aaliyah!" Jack said. Everyone looked at him. Aaliyah smiled and nodded.

"Yeah."

"Jack.."

"No, really. Haven't you ever heard of her?"

"Colonel's right. You are that singer, aren't you?"

"Yeah, I am."

"But how are you here?"

"As you may know, I was killed. I came to find that people missed me much. My family, friends. Fans. I had an opportunity to came to this place, that my loved ones could come here and find me here. I could say goodbye and finally join my friend. But I now know, Stargate is a secret and my family can't come here" Aaliyah explaned.

"You were an actress also?" Daniel asked.

"Yes."

"There are still many people who love you and celebrate your life and career." Carter said.

"I know that. I've saw it. And I'm very grateful for that" Aaliyah said and continued "I know they aren't coming, but I was told, that soon, I'd been with them. And everyone else. They told me I'd always be with them. Come, I'd like to show you something."

The SG-1 team followed Aaliyah to a forest.

"All these thing, they symbolize you somehow, don't they?"

"Well, sort of. The doves. My mom reliesed 22 doves at my funeral. Each symbolizing a year of my life on earth. The pond. My friend showed me that way in her music video. The roses. I loved roses. Fans brought them to my funeral. Those white horses. I loved them too. They took my body to the funeral. All this mysterious things. It's just me. Here." They saw a huge wall cowered with spray paint. There was a teenage girl, with top and huge trousers.

"That's me before. The people called the style street-but-sweet. There is me a little bit older. And here few months before my death." There was a picture of a woman who was full of potential and who was very comfortable with her skin.

"There's me as a kid. And my brother, Rashad."

They walked a little while and saw a plane crashed to the ground. It was on fire. The victims of the crash lay everywhere on the ground. Jack saw a tear both Aaliyah's and Sam's eyes.

"Here is where I died. My friends. They all died." Aaliyah said and continued. "But it is time for me to go now. Please. If you ever meet my family.. Or friends, or fans. Please tell them, that I'll always be grateful for their support and love. And that I'll always be with them. Always. And please, tell them.. When they think of me, they should laugh, not cry. Ok? Can you tell them that?"

"Of course. We'll remember it also. It was a huge pleasure to meet you, Aaliyah." Sam said and smiled at her.

"I always knew you were special.." Jack said and smiled at her too.

"Well, now I guess I got to buy your cd." Daniel said. Aaliyah laughted.

"It was a pleasure to meet you, Aaliyah" Teal's said and bowed his head in respect.Suddenly Aaliyah started to glow even more and a beautiful, angelic voice started to sing. It was Aaliyah. Her seven friends came from above and one of them said:"It's time for us to go, Babygirl." Aaliyah smiled and nodded. Her voice was heard, although she wasn't singing. It was the most beautiful voice, they had ever heard. It sang If at first you don't succeed, then dust yourself off and try again, you can dust it off and try again..And At your best you are love, you're a positive motivation force in my life.. And it sang Your love is a one in a million, it goes on and on and on, all day long..Love it babe, love it babe..And it sang Hey my baby, why you're so down, Hey my baby, tell me why you cry, Here take my hand again tell me why those tears run down your face, Can I talk to you, comfort you, let you know I care for you, If you call on me, I'll come in a hurry, I care for you... And it went on and on.She smiled and a beautiful wings grew from her back. She waved and kept smiling. Together with her seven friends, she rose to heaven.

Few weeks later, SG-1 was gathered to Jack's house. Daniel took his plastic bag and took few cd's and dvd's from it.

"I got Aaliyah's cd's. And some of her perfomances, and stuff. I think we should watch them."

"Sure, Danny. It's a good idea." Jack said and placed his hand on Daniel's back.They watched the videos and listened her music. They read what Aaliyah brother had wrote about her: Babygirl, I will see your smile in every sunrise and feel the warmth of your touch in its rays. I will remember how your tears cleansed my soul in every raindrop and your kiss like the wind on my face. When the birds sing I'll hear your angelic voice resonate through the sky. I'll look at the moon and stars and see the twinkle in your eye, I'll walk the earth knowing that you are everywhere. Looking down from heaven.

They came to find what a beautiful, great person she had been and how her life had influenced on people, who loved her.

Last they watched Aaliyah's last video Rock The Boat and saw her eyes twink at them. They knew she was with God, her loved ones, and she was with them. And they knew she had been and still was happy. That made them happy too. Now she was a star in the sky.
