~Commissary

Daniel Jackson strolled into the commissary looking for his teammates. Over the last five years it had become a ritual for the team to eat breakfast together before heading off to the briefing.

"Hey guys," Daniel greeted as he set down his tray of food and made himself comfortable. As usual Jack waved his spoon, while Teal'c nodded, and Sam smiled in response to Daniel's arrival.

This morning the group was joined by Janet Fraiser, which in Daniel's opinion was a rare but very welcome treat, and she responded to Daniel's greeting with her own warm trademark smile and a "Good morning Daniel."

The quintet chatted over breakfast, but stayed away from all topics relating to work since they had tired of hearing Jack groan. The idle small talk soon made its way to Janet's daughter, Cassandra. Daniel noted the look of pride, joy, and sheer happiness that over took the woman each time she spoke of her daughter. To put it simply Janet Fraiser glowed. However, the leisurely breakfast was interrupted with the blaring of alarms and booming "Unscheduled off-world activation." With a collective sigh the group abandoned their half eaten meals and made their way to the Control Room. With Janet pausing just long enough to dial the infirmary and order the staff to prepare for any inbound emergencies.

~Control Room

Sgt. Davis was idly chatting with one of the new female technicians when the Stargate started to spin. He quickly made his way to his console, and
double-checked all scheduled arrival times. He had just confirmed that the incoming wormhole was unexpected as the first chevron locked into place. He quickly grabbed the microphone announcing the wormhole to the base, and hit the alarms.

General Hammond arrived just as the seventh, and final chevron, engaged and the gate room was filled with the familiar ka-whoosh sound of the wormhole establishing. Before Hammond could even ask for a report, Davis answered is unasked question, "Receiving an IDC, sir. Its SG-1?!"

Hammond's brow wrinkled in momentary confusion and annoyance as Colonel Jack O'Neill made his presence known as he entered the Control Room. "Oh, man. I hate it when this happens."

"Open the iris. Have defense teams standby." Hammond ordered. One of the new technicians swore he heard "Only with SG-1" as the general made his way to the Gate Room followed closely by SG-1 and Dr. Fraiser.

A few moments later three figures dressed in fatigues with weapons drawn stepped through the Stargate.

~Gate Room

General Hammond made his way into the Gate Room to the three waiting figures on the ramp. There armed to the gills stood Dr. Fraiser, Dr. Jackson, and the late Lieutenant Caroline 'Cay' Astor of SG-4, except this Astor's flack jacket identified her as Captain Astor. Hammond studied the three figures as he waited for SG-1 and Dr. Fraiser to join him. "Lower your weapons, and identify yourselves!"

Both women looked to their Daniel Jackson, once he started to lower his P90 the women followed suite, although none of the three made an attempt to relinquish their weapons. Daniel stepped forward, eyeing the Gate Room and all of its occupants. "Hi, I suppose there is no easy way to say this so I' ll just say it. See at every point in time there are infinite possibilities, and a parallel reality exists for each possibility, so there are..."

"Aaagggghhhhhh, it must be a law of nature for you to babble when your explaining things," Jack interrupted.

"Uh... we're from an alternate universe, and we need your help."

"Of course, its not like anyone can just stop by to say hi." Jack muttered.

General Hammond watched the three new arrivals and his team interact. "We will debrief once our Dr. Fraiser has cleared you."

"Actually we would like to debrief first," AU Daniel responded.

"We have safety protocols in place that maybe different then your universe, and these protocols dictate that you must first be cleared..."

"Sir, we don't have time for your protocols," AU Janet interrupted, "at most we have about seventy hours before we start to feel the effects of temporal entropic cascade failure."

"Before I let you loose in my facility you will be cleared by medical. There is no room for negotiation," Hammond responded.

Just as the alternates were contemplating their next argument Janet offered a suggestion, "Perhaps if we could conduct the debriefing in the infirmary once preliminary x-rays are taken?"

~Infirmary

General Hammond and SG-1 gathered around the infirmary bed that contained their three new visitors. This universe's Dr. Fraiser had decided that preliminary dental and full body x-rays should be taken to rule out any possible dangers to the SGC. As it was, the group was just waiting for Janet to reappear with the results so that the impromptu debriefing could begin.

"Well sir, it looks as if we have nothing to worry about. There is no sign of symbiotes, bombs, or any other hidden devices in our guests," Janet said as she made her way to the group, "Nurse Taylor will take some blood samples from the three of you, while you debrief us."

As Taylor started working on AU Astor, AU Daniel posed a question to the group, "Have you heard of the Tollans or been in recent contact with them?"

"Yes, we saved a small group of them when their homeworld was overrun by
volcanic activity, we then sent them to the Nox homeworld. The Nox were able to send them to their new world, Tollana. We're allies," Sam responded.

"Yeah, they're the kind that is arrogant, always needs saving, and doesn't share technology allies," Jack quipped.

AU Daniel adjusted his glasses. "Three days ago we received a long range communication from Omoc congratulating Sam about... her recent good fortune, and requesting the presence of SG-1 for a social dinner. General Hammond sent SG-1 thinking maybe it would help with relations, but when they arrived they found that Omoc had died of a heart attack. Narim expressed his concern on Omoc's untimely death, and how Omoc had used his invitation to dinner as a cover up to relay a message to Earth. However, Narim didn't know what the message was. So, SG-1 started a covert investigation, and after two days they discovered that the Tollan Curia had made a deal with the Goa'uld named Tanith and his new master to build phase shifting bombs. The last update received from SG-1 indicated that they were going to try to convince the Curia to stall Tanith so that we could find away to destroy the mothership."

AU Astor then quickly added, "Actually, Dr. Carter had come up with a plan to destroy the mothership. She wanted SG-1 to smuggle one of the weapons back to the SGC, and then with a Tok'ra vessel we could launch it against the Goa'uld mothership. She was working on a launching mechanism when the..." AU Astor paused, gathering her courage for the news she had to reveal. "Somehow SG-1 failed or was neutralized, a phase shift bomb was sent through the Stargate. It destroyed the SGC, and the naquaada in the gate created a secondary explosion that destroyed the entire mountain... there's nothing left."

Silence. No one knew what to say. Finally AU Daniel spoke, "We received another communication from Narim, their Stargate was destroyed, and that they were trying to evacuate any survivors. He also added, that Tanith had said that his master had sent ships to Earth. NASA confirmed that two motherships had entered our solar system just before we left."

AU Janet finally spoke for the first time since the Gate Room in a quite and reflective voice, "Tanith must have realized the Curia was stalling... the Colonel said that the Tollans still had a few days left to finish constructing the remaining weapons Tanith wanted."

"How may we be of assistance?" Teal'c asked.

AU Janet looked up at the group, her eyes filled with unshed tears, "Help us stop it," she whispered, "Stop it from ever happening."

~Briefing Room

After the team from the alternate SGC had initially debriefed General
Hammond, SG-1, and Dr. Fraiser; Hammond had sent SG-1 and the AU team back through the gate to retrieve the quantum mirror. The AU team had spent the initial two hours in this universe trying to find the gate address of the planet they were on, so that they would be able to return to the mirror when needed. Dr. Fraiser used this time to run blood and DNA tests to confirm the identity of the AU team.

Now about three hours later, the nine individuals sat around conference table in the briefing room, trying to decide the next course of action.

"How do we know that the Tollans didn't betray your SGC?" Hammond asked.

"Julie had convinced High Chancellor Travell that Sam's plan would work. I don't think Travell would go back on her word. If Sam's plan had succeeded, then both Earth and Tollana would be safe. It doesn't make sense to risk that. Travell knew that the Goa'uld would most likely go back on their word once Tollana had served its purpose," AU Daniel replied.

"Julie?" Daniel asked.

"Captain Julie Vasquez," AU Daniel responded, noting Jack's confusion, he quickly continued, "Captain Vasquez is Sam's replacement. Its against SGC policy for team members of a SG field team to have a romantic relationship unless in a emergency situation. Though, I guess this situation with the Tollans would be considered an emergency, but even then Sam's not cleared for gate travel because she's..."

"Daniel..." AU Janet warned.

"Sorry."

Sam looked from AU Daniel to AU Janet and then back to AU Daniel as confusion played across her face. "I'm what? Why aren't I cleared for gate travel?"

AU Janet shook her head as she looked down at the table, "I don't think we should... well not here anyway... its personal, and things..."

Jack cut off AU Janet's rambling, "No way Doc! If it's relevant to this whole Tollan mess then its relevant to us."

"Indeed," Teal'c agreed, "Your Dr. Carter's absence from SG-1 may have played a part in the tragic events of your universe."

After the rest of SG-1 and Hammond made a few more remarks supporting total disclosure, AU Janet finally gave in, and answered Sam's questions. "Samantha Carter was a Major in the United States Air Force, but she resigned her commission a little over a year ago. Since then she has been working with the SGC as a civilian. She was assigned to SG-2, with Captain Astor, but about two months ago was declared no longer medically fit to travel through the Stargate. Dr. Carter, Sam, is married to Colonel Jack O' Neill, the commanding officer of SG-1, and she is... was three months pregnant. Omoc's message congratulated the Colonel and Sam, sent warm wishes from the Tollan Curia, and invited the Colonel to take part in a Tollan expectant father celebration."

Sam lost all color from her face and stared open-mouthed at Jack. Jack avoided her eyes at all cost, instead focusing all his attention onto his nails. It was Teal'c who finally broke the uncomfortable silence with his baritone voice, "Why did Daniel Jackson not accompany SG-1 to Tollana?"

AU Daniel looked relieved to focus the attention of the group away from Sam and Jack. True they weren't the same Sam and Jack, but his heart went out to them nonetheless. "Well, the kids... someone had to help with the kids..."

"Wait. Kids?" Daniel interrupted his alternate.

"Yeah, Cassie is still getting over 'mind fire' illness. Nick's a little over four months old and we still haven't gotten the new house settled..." AU Daniel stopped talking as he felt AU Janet's hand on his arm. He followed her gaze to their alternates. To say that Janet and Daniel were shocked was an understatement. The shock, confusion, and wonderment played across their features within a matter of moments. Finally, the pair averted their eyes from everyone in the room.

Hammond, sensing that his people needed time to digest the information revealed by the AU Team called a twenty minute recess, but not before asking AU Astor to join him in his office.

~Gate Room

SG-7 stepped through the event horizon. They had just spent the last week on a deserted planet looking at trinium deposits and local plant life.

"Welcome back SG-7," Hammond greeted from the Control Room, as the team relinquished their weapons. "Report to the infirmary for your exams."

A chorus of 'yes sir's were said, as the team made their way out of the room.

"Vasquez, Simms, Mitch? Jake's after the debriefing, first round's on Vasquez." Lt. Colonel Bowder stated as he made his way past his team.

"Wait?! Why's the first round on me?" Captain Vasquez asked as she caught up to her CO. The rest of the conversation was lost as the team negotiated their way to the infirmary.

~Utility Closet, Section C2, Sub-Level 23

Sam closed the closet door behind her and made her way through the different rows of supplies, until she reached her destination, a small table with a group of folding chairs off to the right. She quietly turned on the desk lamp, letting the soft glow of the lamp comfort her as she unfolded a chair and sat down.

This closet was the place that both she and Janet came to when they needed to think, talk, and just be alone. As soon as General Hammond had ended the debriefing Sam had rushed out of the Briefing Room. The rest of SG-1 and Janet, with the exception of Teal'c, had been rocked by the private details revealed by the AU team; she doubted that any of them would come looking for her, they had just as much to deal with as she did.

~VIP Quarters, Sub-Level 22

AU Daniel sat on the couch holding AU Janet closer to him. Tears had fallen long ago, tears for their world, their friends, but mostly tears for their children. Now the pair sat in silence taking comfort in each other's touch.

AU Janet shifted snuggling closer to him. "Maybe we shouldn't have told them."

AU Daniel looked down at the top of his wife's head, "We had to tell them, and we have to tell them more. So that they'll listen... so that they'll understand, and if they don't we'll go to another reality, and do the same thing until someone helps us."

AU Janet nodded as she tried to stop her tears. It had been three days since her world crashed down around her, three days since the bomb came through the gate, three days since her babies had died, and still she cried.

AU Daniel pulled her into a hug, and held her as his own tears threatened to spill over. "We'll do it for Cassie and Nick. We'll do it for Jack, Sam, and their unborn child. We'll do it for everyone we ever loved."

~Utility Closet, Section C2, Sub-Level 23

Sam's contemplation on her alternate's life was interrupted when the closet door opened, and Janet Fraiser stepped through carrying two cups of coffee. "He-ey, thought I'd find you here."

Sam unfolded another chair for Janet, as the brunette made her way to the table. "Just needed some time to think. What about you?"

"Same." Janet responded as she took the offered seat. "Is it just me, or does everyone in an alternate reality have a personal life but us?"

Sam chuckled. "Seems like it."

The pair sat in silence drinking their coffee, lost in thought. After a few minutes Janet broke the silence, "Do you really think she's married to Daniel?"

"What makes you think that you... the other you is married to Daniel?"

"When I took them for their MRIs both had matching wedding bands on their dog tags," Janet said as she played with her own dog tags. It had been standard SGC practice for the last three years for all gate travelers, even civilians, to wear dog tags in the field. "I didn't think much of it then, but that with the way they spoke and interacted in the briefing made it seem like they were in... together, and the way they looked at each other... I remember that look... it's the way people in love look at each other," Janet babbled.

"Is that a problem?" Sam asked.

"No," Janet sighed. "I mean... Daniel's attractive, smart, compassionate, and much more."

"But?"

"But he's Daniel... what I mean is I always thought he was off limits, ya know? First because he was married, then because he was grieving, and then... and then... I don't know. When Cassie was sick he was there for me... telling me that if I needed anything he'd be there, but..."

Sam sighed; she knew exactly how Janet felt. "There was something there... more than attraction. He's unattainable in this world, but you feel this connection or the possibility of something great and you can't act on it. Then one day you wake up and find that there's this other universe where the unattainable is actually attainable."

"Yeah."

"And you don't know how to feel about it." Janet nodded, as Sam continued, "I know exactly what you mean, but for some reason this time... the other Sam Carter, she took the risk I wouldn't. She gave up her commission, and now she's married and starting her own family."

"Families. They have kids."

"Yeah, I feel like I'm missing out..." Sam trailed off as she once again became immersed in her alternate's life, whom was married to Jack's alternate and having his baby. His baby, she was going to be a mother... well not her, her alternate was going to be a mother. Suddenly Sam felt a spark of jealously flare up inside her. Their alternates had managed to fight the Goa'uld and find love, fulfillment, and happiness in each other.

Before the pair could continue their contemplation and discussion Janet's watched beeped. "And twenty minutes are up. Time to get back to the briefing."

"Oh joy, I wonder what they're gonna tell us next... we're all insanely rich and famous."

Janet chuckled at Sam's attempt to lighten the mood, "Oooh, maybe they're making a movie about the Stargate, and Meg Ryan is playing you."

"And who would we have play the good doctor? Perhaps... Gillian Anderson."

~General Hammond's Office

The alternate Captain Astor snapped to attention as General Hammond entered his office with Teal'c. "At ease. Thank you for waiting, I like to welcome the teams home when ever possible."

AU Astor settled back into her chair, "Our General Hammond does the same thing. It's always nice to know there's a friendly face waiting to welcome us home when we're out there, sir."

"I'd like you to start at the beginning once again. How did SG-1 become suspicious of the Tollan?"

AU Astor went over the events from her universe once again, occasionally stopping to clarify or answer in more detail whenever prompted by Hammond or Teal'c.

~Corridor, Section D4, Sub-Level 18

Daniel walked through the corridors; he needed someone to talk to. He had been looking for Sam; she would always take the time to listen to his problems, and sometimes even offered him some advice. He'd looked in her lab, a few other labs, and the commissary. The only places left were places frequented by Janet, such as her office and the infirmary; both places that Daniel was avoiding at the moment. So here he was making his way to one of the training rooms, looking for another listener, Jack.

Daniel found Jack staring at his punching bag not making any attempt to actually box. "Hi, busy?"

"Yes." Jack replied, as he made a show of throwing punches.

"So, how you feelin' about all of this?"

"Daniel, don't. Just don't." Jack was not in the mood to discuss his feelings, all he wanted to do was beat the crap out of the bag, drink some beer, and maybe beat the crap out of the bag again.

"I feel weird about the whole thing."

"Really?! What is that makes you feel weird? Could it be that your alternate is married? Or has kids? Or you wear those goofy glasses?" Jack deadpanned between punches.

"The whole thing I suppose. I mean I'm married to Janet... you did get the impression that their married? Wait, goofy glasses? I thought they were nice?"

Jack grabbed the towel of the bench and wiped the sweat from his face, "They 're so... trendy... so you never thought of asking the Doc out huh?"

"Well I uh...mmm... well..." Daniel stuttered, "It's just that... yes."

"Yes-no, or yes-yes?"

Daniel started toying with his glasses doing his best to avoid Jack's inquisitive look, "Yes-yes, it was just never a good time to ask her. So,
what about you? Three realities..."

"Um..." Jack sighed, "I'm not sure. I mean in the other two, one or both of them died... well actually that's the same in this one... I mean the third one... but it's the first one with kids or a kid... never mind. I just never thought 'd be a dad again," Jack admitted as he pulled off his gloves.

The two stood in silence, Daniel shifting his weight from one foot to the other and Jack toying with his now removed boxing gloves.

~Locker Room

"God Jules, I'm so glad to be home," Michelle Hu exclaimed as she put her low dryer back in her locker.

Julie Vasquez laughed at her teammate's statement. The team had just spent a week traipsing around on a planet looking for trinium deposits. Which wouldn't be too bad, but this particular planet was in the middle of its rainy season, and as a result the team was covered in mud and soaked most of the week.

"Guess what I heard in the infirmary?"

"What?"

"We have visitors from an alternate universe on base."

Julie looked up from tying her shoes, her eyes gleaming with excitement. This new turn of events completed excited the astrophysicist in her. "Really? Whose alternates showed up Mitch?"

"I didn't get a chance to find out. Ben came in and told me the debriefing was moved to tomorrow morning, and by the time he left Nurse Taylor had left as well."

"Maybe I should stop by Major Carter's lab, and see if she needs a hand. I read all the reports on the quantum mirror from the last time..."

"No way Jules, there is no way you're gonna stay here and work. You are coming out with your team getting drunk and we'll find you a nice stud that you can have your way with.

Julie winced inwardly; she wasn't exactly the 'nice stud' type.

~Briefing Room

SG-1 plus Dr. Fraiser were sitting around the conference table waiting for General Hammond to start the briefing.

Hammond entered and motioned for everyone to be seated, "Captain Astor has finished debriefing me, and I have decided that if it is in our power we will help these people." Hammond paused briefly to see if any of the others had objections. "From what Captain Astor has told me, their SGC has the same allies as we do. The floor is open to any possible solutions."

All eyes turned to Sam. She was after all the resident genius when it came to non-medical and non-cultural problems. Sam mentally went through a checklist of conditions in the alternate universe: same allies, no gate, no SGC, overrun by Goa'uld. "I'm not sure what we could do for them sir."

The group lapsed back into silence, finally Janet that broke the silence, "I was thinking about what the other Janet said when Teal'c asked how we could help. She asked us to help them stop it from ever happening. So it's safe to assume they want us to find a way to change their past."

"Like the note from the future, 'Under no circumstances go to..." Jack interceded.

"P4C-970," Sam offered.

"Right... P4C..."

"970, O'Neill." Teal'c stated.

"Ok, so we send a note back in time, how do we do that? Carter?"

"Well, we know that by dialing coordinates that are precisely on the opposite side of the sun at the exact moment of a solar flare it causes the wormhole to turn back towards Earth on itself causing a time distortion," explained Sam.

"Wait a second," Daniel interrupted, "I thought you said it was impossible to predict the exact moment of a solar flare?"

"But not for the Tollan." AU Daniel offered as he and the rest of the AU Team barged into the Briefing Room.

~VIP Quarters, Sub-Level 22

The AU team gathered around the small table in one of the VIP Quarters. AU Astor had just finished telling AU Daniel and AU Janet about her private debriefing with General Hammond and Teal'c. "I think they'll help us." She said answering the unasked question that weighed heavily on the trio. "He's meeting with SG-1 right now, presumably to let them know his decision."

"Well, if they agree to help us then the next step is to come up with a plan on how to save our reality," AU Daniel stated.

"Right," AU Janet sighed. AU Daniel gave her hand a reassuring squeeze as she continued, "But, we can't just save it, we have to stop it from ever happening... like the note!"

"What note?" AU Astor interrupted.

AU Daniel smiled as he started following his wife's train of thought, "About eight months ago we received a note through the Stargate. Who ever sent it used SG-1's iris code, but all of SG-1 was on base at the time. The note was in Jack's handwriting and had some of his blood on it, but he never remembered writing or sending the note."

"What did the note say?" AU Astor asked.

"It said 'Under no circumstances go to P4C-970. Hammond ordered 970 to be locked out of the dialing computer. Sam thought that maybe the note was from the future," AU Janet continued, "Now we just have to know how to send a note into the past."

AU Daniel grinned, "We already do. There was this accident a little over two years ago that sent SG-1 back in time. Sam said something about solar flares causing the wormhole to turn back onto its self, if it's dialed into a gate on the exact opposite side of the sun. Somehow the resulting wormhole allows objects or people to travel backwards and forward in time depending on where the solar flare was located."

"That's all well and good Daniel," AU Janet interrupted, "But we have no way of predicting solar flares."

"We might not, but the Tollan do. Julie was very excited when the Tollan decided to share some of the information they gathered from one of their orbital observation stations. It's all she and Sam could talk about when the Tollan first offered to share the information," AU Daniel offered.

AU Astor glanced at AU Daniel, and then spoke, "So since the allies of this reality are similar to the allies on our reality, you think that maybe these Tollan would have the same solar technology?"

AU Daniel nodded, and then the pair turned their attention to AU Janet to seek her opinion. Who just shrugged, and said, "Well, its not like any of us has a better plan. We should head down to the briefing room to see what the General has decided."

~Briefing Room

The AU Team stood in the stairwell to the Briefing Room, pleased that they had come to the same conclusion as SG-1.

"Wait a second," Daniel interrupted Sam's explanation of how the Stargate could be used as a time travel device, "I thought you said it was impossible to predict the exact moment of a solar flare?"

"But not for the Tollan." AU Daniel offered as he and the rest of the AU Team made their way into the Briefing Room.

"Permission to join the briefing, sir?" AU Astor asked as she and AU Janet snapped to attention.

Hammond gestured for the team to take a seat as AU Daniel began to recount how the Tollan of his universe had established off world and orbital communications/science stations used to monitor natural and spatial phenomena. "Cay told us that your SGC has the same allies, and that a lot of the defining events are the same in both universes. So, I think it might be safe to assume that the Tollan of this universe have the same observation stations," AU Daniel concluded.

"All right, Major Carter you will contact the Tollan," Hammond commanded. He then shifted his gaze to the AU Team, "The three of you will work with your counterparts in providing information relevant to the SGC, while Major Carter and the Tollan work on a solution. Captain Astor since your counterpart is... no longer with us, you will work with Colonel O'Neill. Dismissed."

The AU Team looked to SG-1 for further instructions. Jack was just about to make a suggestion when AU Daniel's stomach rumbled. "Hungry?"

AU Daniel blushed, "Sorry, all we had was breakfast."

"Well, why don't you guys grab dinner and we'll go from there."

~Commissary
The AU Team was seated around a table finishing off the last of their dinner. "You know the roast beef is actually better here then in our universe. Maybe we should ask the cook for the recipe so we can give it to our cook?" AU Astor quipped.

"While we're at it Cay, we should send them the recipe for this pie, it's so good." AU Daniel managed to say around a mouthful of pumpkin pie. Ever since the whole Urgo episode the four original members of SG-1 have been obsessed with desserts, especially pie.

The team chatted with ease for the first time in days. The despair and darkness of the last few days had been lifted with the proposal of a course of action. It was as if three friends were simply enjoying a meal together, the military formality had disappeared having been replaced by good-natured ribbing.

"So what do you think of this reality?" AU Daniel asked.

"Weird." Both AU Janet and AU Astor chorused together.

AU Astor stifled her laughter as she spoke, "Well for one thing I'm dead. Completely, ruins my whole super hero self image that I had going." They were still chatting idly when a loud crash echoed through the commissary. When the team looked up they caught the backside of a retreating figure.

~Locker Room
Dr. Michelle Hu made her way to the locker room. She was looking for her teammate Julie Vasquez, who had stormed out of the commissary abruptly. "Jules, are you in here?" Michelle asked as she made her way through the rows of lockers. She finally spotted her friend and teammate sitting on the bench in front of her locker. "Hey, there you are. You okay?"

"I'm fine Mitch," Julie snapped as she changed into her BDU's, "I just want to be left alone."

"What are you doing? We're supposed to be meeting the guys for post mission drinks in half an hour."

"I can't Mitch. I have to find out what's going on... that was Cay back there in the commissary..."

"I know I saw," Michelle replied as Julie put her shoes back on. "Jules? Julie, look at me?"

Julie turned around slowly wiping her tears away with the hem of her t-shirt. "She was my friend... it's a little shocking."

Michelle pulled Julie into a hug, "Jules, I'm not military... I... you guys were a lot more then friends, right?"

Julie stepped out of the hug, wide eyed and shocked, "How'd you know."

"It's okay I didn't tell anyone, and no one told me," Michelle said trying desperately to squash the panic she saw on her friend's eyes. "I just figured it out... you took it hard when she died."

~Control Room

Sgt. Davis was busy organizing some last minute paperwork as he prepared to go off duty, when the Stargate started to spin. He quickly checked all scheduled arrival times for all off world teams, and hit the alarms as he announced the unscheduled incoming wormhole.

General Hammond arrived just in time to watch the seventh chevron engage. "No IDC received, sir," Davis informed Hammond.

"Close the iris." Hammond ordered, "Defense teams standby."

The iris started loosing integrity as SG-1 made its way into the Control Room. Within a few moments, Omoc and Narim stepped through the iris. "General Hammond, we ask leave to enter your compound?" Narim asked.

"Defense teams stand down. Welcome to the SGC Narim and Omoc."

~Briefing Room

SG-1 and Hammond escorted their Tollan guests into the Briefing Room.

"Thank you both for coming so soon," Hammond stated as the group took their seats.

"Your message was quite insistent that we both arrive as soon as possible," Omoc stated, "What was so important that we could not discuss these matters on Tollana?"

"Earlier this morning," Daniel began, "We received visitors from an
alternate universe." He quickly explained the circumstances of the arrival the alternates, and the information that they had provided leading to the tragic destruction of the alternate SGC and Tollana.

"That is impossible. We would never construct a weapon of mass destruction," Narim argued. "The ion cannons are infallible. There are no Goa'uld motherships capable of defending against it."

"Oh here we go again," Jack groaned, "You guys thought the same thing when Zippy and his kids attacked..."

"Colonel!" Hammond interrupted. "We are just asking for you to look at the information they brought with them. The blueprints they brought for the launching mechanism aren't complete, and we would like your help in preventing this tragedy in their reality."

"How do we know that this isn't another attempt to gain technology from us," Omoc questioned.

"Omoc," Hammond answered, "We will share all information they brought with them. The Tollan can review it all and speak with the alternates if you wish."

"We just want to help them." Sam pleaded.

"We would like to speak with the alternates, and then we shall decided our next course of action." Omoc stated.

~Sam's Lab, Sub-Level 19

Sam gathered all the information that the AU team had given her. The AU Team had brought all the information regarding the weapon and the launching device her alternate was working on from the Pentagon nightly backups. It wasn't the most current information her alternate had been working on, but at least she wouldn't have to start from scratch. Sam had grabbed all the files when she was interrupted by a knock at the door. "Come in."

"Ma'am," Captain Julie Vasquez said as she entered Sam's office, "I heard that we have some visitors from the Quantum Mirror."

"That's right. Captain, I'm on my way to a briefing." Sam stated, hoping that would end the conversation, she silently cursed the SGC rumor mill.

Julie fell in step with Sam as she made her way back to the Briefing Room, "Major, I'd like to help."

"Captain, I know you mean well, but..."

"Major, I have to help," Julie interrupted, "Cay was my friend, and I know I 'm not a super genius, but I have been studying all the information we have on the quantum mirrors and... its just something that I just have to do."

Sam considered Julie's request for a moment. After all, Julie's alternate had helped her alternate in the other reality, and she was worthy enough for SG-1 in the other reality. "Alright, come on you can sit in on the briefing we're giving to the Tollans."

~Jack's Office, Sub-Level 18

Jack caught the rubber ball as it bounced back from the wall. He and AU Astor had been going over intelligence on the different allies in her
reality ever since Omoc and Narim had left to meet with the Curia. He had been surprised with her knowledge about the different friendly worlds that were visited in her reality. Apparently, SG-2 was another first contact team in her reality as a result they worked closely with SG-1. Currently, AU Astor was stretching her legs, as they waited for a few of the airmen to deliver their dinners.

"Sir." AU Astor greeted as she followed the airmen with their dinner into Jack's office.

As the pair settled down to their dinner, Jack asked, "So what's the other me like?"

"Well sir, your about the same... I'm not actually sure what you want me to say sir." AU Astor stuttered.

"You don't have to be nervous Astor I just wanted to know what I'm like," Jack shrugged.

"Okay. Well first off you call me Cay. In fact everyone on SG-1 and 2 is on a first name bases when off base, well except for Teal'c who either uses your full name, rank, or salutation."

"So SG-1 and 2 hang out a lot?"

AU Astor continued to talk about SG-1 and 2's social get togethers as the pair finished their meal.

~Janet's Office, Sub-Level 21

Dr. Janet Fraiser sat at her desk typing in notes on her laptop. AU Janet sat across from her making notes in a notebook. The pair had been comparing the different medicinal discoveries made through the SGC. AU Janet had allowed her alternate self to steer the conversation, the last thing she wanted to do was add to the tension that hung between them. "So, MH2-395 was uninhabitable in this reality?" Janet nodded, as AU Janet continued, "That's too bad, in my reality it has this planet which seems to have great pain relieving qualities."

"Hmm... yeah." Janet said absently.

"You ok?"

"Fine."

"If you say so," AU Janet muttered.

Janet's head snapped up and she glared at her alternate. AU Janet rolled her eyes as she smirked at Janet. Janet wondered if her patients found it annoying when she did the same thing. "I was... distracted," she offered.

"I see."

"When?"

"When what?" AU Janet asked, though she already had a fair idea of what her alternate wanted to know.

"When did the whole thing start?" 'With Daniel' was a given. Janet prayed that her alternate wouldn't continue to play dumb.

"Do you really want to have this conversation?"

"No," Janet sighed. The pair fell into a tense silence as Janet continued to make notes on her laptop.

~Sam's Lab, Sub-Level 19

"I've gone over these schematics three times," Sam groaned in frustration. "It's not in here, I guess we now know why they didn't seriously consider delivering the bomb via a launching mechanism."

"Hello campers." Jack said as he strolled in with AU Astor trailing behind him.

"We talked to the Tollans, they had Daniel open the mirror back to their reality. But since the Stargate has been destroyed there is no way to send a message back in time directly to the SGC. So the Tollan are trying to find another quantum mirror that opens up to the same reality." Sam stated.

"And while the Tollan are working on that, Major Carter and I have been trying to figure out how to deliver the weapon to the Goa'uld Mothership," Julie added.

"Can't we just shoot it at the ship?" Jack asked.

"No sir," Sam replied, "The bomb uses phase shifting to pass through the shields. The problem is we have to disengage the phase shifting once it passes through shields so that it doesn't pass through the ship."

"So what's the problem?" AU Astor asked.

"We don't know anything about the phase shifting technology, and the Tollans refuse to help us, because they think we're to primitive." Julie replied.

"Dr. Carter was going to use a Tok'ra vessel to ring the bomb onto the mothership. Can't we do that?" AU Astor asked.

"It seems like the only option," Sam sighed. "I'm going to go debrief General Hammond now, and hopefully send a message to the Tok'ra."

"I'll go with you." Jack stated.

AU Astor and Julie sat in silence neither knowing what to say, and then Julie finally broke the silence. "Cay... this reality's Cay is dead. She was a za'tarc."

AU Astor had no idea what to say 'I'm sorry' just seemed insufficient, but anything more would be to presumptuous, so in the end she simply sat down on a stool and asked, "Will you tell me about her?"

~Daniel's Office, Sub-Level 18

Dr. Daniel Jackson and his alternate walked into Daniel's office. The pair had started to compare realities, when they were interrupted by the Tollan, and since then Daniel had been unable to ask his alternate anything
personal. As a result, they had gotten quite a bit of work done, because both Narim and Omoc tended to only interact with them when they needed AU Daniel. Apparently each reality had a unique signature of some kind and they were comparing AU Daniel's signature to the different realities, in order to find the correct one.

Daniel was just about to ask a question when an airmen carrying two trays of food walked into the office through the open door. "Dr. Fraiser ordered them sir," the airmen said as he set down the trays.

AU Daniel started chuckling, as he took in the look of confusion on his alternate's face. "It was probably my Janet that convinced her to order the food. I'm notorious for forgetting about food when I'm working. She knows that if she doesn't send food for me that I'll probably never eat."

Daniel sighed, "How long has she been your Janet?"

"Well we became friends after we found Cassandra on Hanka. She bonded with Sam and I, and we ended up spending a lot of time with Janet getting her settled in," AU Daniel mused.

"That's how it happened here," Daniel commented. He and Janet were close friends, and it was a direct result of Cassandra. In fact, it was this friendship that made it unable for him to ask Janet out, the last thing he wanted to risk was her friendship.

"After we killed Apophis the first time, I decided to take a risk, and ask her out."

"That's when you asked her out? What about Sha're?" Daniel asked.

"Sha're was dead. When Apophis came to Abydos he killed her and took Skaara with him. I went with Jack to find Skaara... it was the last thing Sha're had asked me to do. Skaara was taken as host for the Goa'uld Klorel."

"In this reality, Sha're didn't die then. She along with Skaara was taken. She was made into a host for the Goa'uld Amaunet," Daniel stated.

"Sgt. Weis, one of guards of the gate when it was inactive, was made into Amaunet's host. She died about two years ago." AU Daniel commented as the pair fell into silence.

~Gate Room

General Hammond, Colonel O'Neill, and Major Carter watched as Stargate engaged and established a wormhole to Tollana.

"We will return when it is your morning, with the information needed to send the alternates back," Omoc stated.

"We've contacted the Tok'ra, and they are sending a ship to Tollana," said Hammond, "It should be there within a few hours."

"Our scientists are working to make the weapon as we speak. Hopefully, it will be done before the Goa'uld mothership arrives," replied Omoc before he turned and vanished through the event horizon with Narim.

~Janet's Office, Infirmary

Janet poked at her dinner, "I want to know." She looked up to see her alternate's confused look, "I want to know about you and Daniel."

"We started going out after SG-1 destroyed two Goa'uld motherships that Apophis sent. We took it slow... dated for about two years. Then after we got Skaara back, Daniel proposed, and we got married in July 2000. He was so nervous when he proposed," AU Janet smiled as she got lost in a memory. "We were suppose to go away for the weekend, but there was this emergency on base, so I couldn't get away. I got back home Sunday night, dead tired, and the whole house was just bathed in candlelight. He drew me a bubble bath, waited on me hand and foot, and just held me when I fell asleep. The next morning he made me breakfast in bed, chocolate chip pancakes topped with an engagement ring."

AU Janet chuckled, "To this day we won't let me forget how I fell asleep in the middle of this romantic evening he had planned."

Janet smiled; she felt a flare of jealousy as her alternate recounted tales of her proposal and then wedding to her. "Nick?"

"The moment we started going out Cassie started to ask for a little brother or sister... one of her school friends had a little sister, and we both have dangerous jobs... his especially. Nick's four months old now... he's the cutest thing I've ever seen. Take's my breath away."

~Corridor, Sub-Level 28

Jack and Sam made their way back to her lab in silence. Once Sam had debriefed the general, Omoc and Narim had shown up to debrief and head back to Tollana. Now as Jack and Sam waited for the elevator, Jack took a moment to look at Sam.

"Carter?"

"Sir."

"How are you handling everything?"

"Fine sir," Sam replied as the pair stepped into the empty elevator.

"Sam? Are you sure?"

"It's a little weird."

"That's the understatement of the century."

"Sir... Jack, I know that there are feelings..."

"Feelings?"

"Yeah... but I'm not her and you're not him."

"I know, and I'm not asking for that... I just want to know that we're okay."

"We'll be ok, sir."

~VIP Quarters, Sub-Level 22

AU Astor let out a small stream of curses as she bumped into the chair in her quarters. Belittling herself for not turning on the bedside lamp when she heard the knocking at her door or for not leaving the bathroom light on. She let out another stream of curses when she bumped into another piece of furniture. The furniture in these quarters was arranged differently than the VIP quarters in her reality.

"I'm coming." AU Astor barked at the door as she finally reached it. Bracing herself for the sudden onslaught of light, as she simultaneously pulled open the door and flipped the switch for the overhead fluorescents.

Captain Julie Vasquez took in the appearance of her dead lover's alternate - the matted hair, slightly red swollen eyes that were clear indicator she had been crying, the wrinkled black tee, and USAF shorts. All in all AU Astor looked like she had seen better days. "I woke you? I should go... I'm sorry."

"NO," AU Astor practically screamed as she grabbed Vasquez's hand, "I couldn't sleep... I was resting. Come in."

Julie stood in the doorway debating on her next course of action, finally she entered the room, closing and locking the door behind her. "I need to know something...and I'm not sure how to ask."

"Just ask?" AU Astor smirked. She had noticed the differences in this world, and she didn't want to presume things here had been the same with Julie as they were in her reality.

"In this reality, Cay and I were close." Julie started. "Really close... we were seeing each other."

AU Astor nodded, "I understand. It's that way where I'm from too. I just didn't want to assume, because from what I've seen this is the 'no-risk reality' when it comes to personal lives."

"You're together? How long?" Julie asked. For some reason she was happy that somewhere in the grand scheme of things Cay was alive and with her.

"A little over a year."

"Must be hard to keep it a secret." Julie mused aloud.

"Actually, we were found out. You got hurt on a mission, and it was touch and go for a while, Sam... Dr. Carter came and talked to me," AU Astor smirked, "They're cool about it... it led to a whole 'no ranks allowed' rule."

~VIP Quarters, Sub-Level 22

Hours later the small glow of the bathroom's light cast shadows over the couple cuddled together in bed. AU Janet was curled into AU Daniel's side, her head on his chest listening to his heartbeat and steady breathing, while he drew intricate designs on her back. His touch was soft and in between a soothing massage and caress.

"You didn't answer your question," AU Janet said.

"Hmm... what question?" AU Daniel asked as he tightened his embrace on his wife.

"The one you asked at dinner... what do you think about this reality?"

"Oh, its umm... interesting," AU Daniel replied. He waited briefly to see if AU Janet had anything to add, but then continued on his explanation when he was greeted with silence. "I mean I just can't imagine a reality where I know you, and I'm not with you. The first alternate reality I experienced, I wasn't part of the program I never knew you, and the same thing with the second one. But in this one, I'm here and you're here, but we're not
together."

He pulled her chin up so that he was staring into her chocolate eyes, "Its just mind blowing... I can't imagine my life without you or the kids. I feel sorry for him."

AU Daniel chuckled, "I feel sorry for him. Here we are," he gestured around to the room, "in an alternate reality trying to save our reality... to save everyone we lost, and I feel sorry for my alternate, because he's never experienced the complete happiness that you, Cassie, and Nick give me."

"I love you." AU Janet whispered, as she wiped away her tears. She had never doubted AU Daniel's love for her, but to hear his words spoken with such emotion about their life together warmed her to the vary depths of her soul.

"I love you too." AU Daniel whispered to her lips as he leaned into kiss her.

~Commissary

SG-1 plus Dr. Janet Fraiser sat mostly in silence eating breakfast. The AU Team broke the silence as they debriefed each other on the latest updates in the plan to save their reality from destruction. The five SGC members of this reality would have found a way to avoid breakfast with the AU Team, but the team wanted to get an early start and felt that by combining the debriefing with breakfast would save time.

"Ok," AU Janet reviewed as she poked at the last of her breakfast, "The Tollan found another quantum mirror that leads to our reality, and this mirror is located on a world with a Stargate in our reality."

"Right," Sam agreed, "Then when we all go through we will move it to a planet whose solar system is being observed via the Tollan science station, and hope that the solar flare predictions in this reality match with the predictions in your reality."

Janet continued, "Okay, and then the three of us go back in time, and we debrief our past selves. Hence, saving our Earth." Sam and Julie nodded in agreement. "Okay, then why do I have a bad feeling? What am I missing?"

"Better question, what happens to us after we save the day?" AU Astor asked.

"You throw a party and have a couple of beers... come on Cay don't look a gift horse in the mouth." Jack answered.

"O'Neill, I believe Captain Astor is referring to their existence once they have changed the course of events that led them to travel into their past," Teal'c explained.

Jack looked at the Jaffa in confusion, "What?"

"Uh yeah... once we change the past then what?" AU Astor asked again.

Sam shrugged, "Well there are many theories. One states that by going back in your past and altering it you are splitting your timeline, effectively creating an alternate reality. The timeline, which you came from, still exists because it led to you altering/creating the current timeline but is no longer accessible to anyone."

"So in English that means we'll still exist after we change the past?" AU Astor asked.

"Yes, but another theory states that once you change the past the events leading to you altering the past will no longer happen. So you'll disappear, because you never actually end up going back in the past. But, I don't think that will happen, because we still have the note that was sent from the future telling us to lock P4C-970 out of the computers."

"Wait, you think that won't happen or hope that won't happen? What about when we went back in time to 1969 we obviously didn't disappear and we didn't experience any tremors?" AU Daniel asked in a voice laced with panic.

"That was a case of a self-fulfilling prophecy. If we had altered our individual past then we would have created a new timeline, but we didn't do that."

"The problem," Julie interrupted, "Is that there is a possibility of
entropic cascade failure, because there will be two of each of you in the same reality."

"That was not the case in 1969," Teal'c observed.

"SG-1 was only there a few days, but it could be that both versions of you belonged in the same reality. It could have been a number of things, and then there is the possibility of entropic cascade failure not even being a problem."

"My head hurts." Jack groaned.

"Me too." AU Astor agreed.

~Briefing Room

General Hammond, Omoc, and Narim sat around the conference table waiting for all members of SG-1, Dr. Fraiser, and the AU team to join them. It had been hours since the eight of them had ate breakfast together. Afterwards, Julie and Sam had retired to Sam's lab to work on a possible launching mechanism for the phase-shifting bomb. While the Janets retired to the infirmary to discuss different medical knowledge; AU Astor, Jack, and Teal'c mostly just kept each other amused by showing each other hand-to-hand combat moves; and the Daniels continued discussing Oma Desala's race of ascended beings. Apparently, no one in the AU Team's universe had ever encountered such aliens, because they had no reason to travel to Kheb.

Ten minutes later everyone that was expected to attend was at the table, except for the Daniels. Hammond was just about to send an airman to fetch the wayward archeologists when the pair rushed in. "Sorry we're late," Daniel replied breathlessly as they took their seats.

"Our scientists have located a planet which would work for sending a message back in time. Once we have traveled to the planet, we will dial Tollana at approximately 1400 Earth time." Omoc stated.

"Has the Tok'ra vessel arrived?" Sam asked.

"Yes," Narim answered, "The vessel arrived shortly before we came and is equipped with a cloaking device. It will remain hidden in orbit for the next few days."

"After the alternate Dr. Jackson, Dr. Fraiser, and Captain Astor are returned to their reality, our scientist will devote all attention to completion of the phase-shifting weapon," Omoc stated.

"Okay people you have until 1330 to be ready to ship out."

~VIP Quarters, Sub-Level 22

AU Janet and AU Daniel sat on the couch waiting for AU Astor to join them before they headed to the infirmary for pre-mission checks. Janet wanted to make sure that the team was well enough to make all the gate jumps required of them.

"I think we should leave Cay here," said AU Janet as she finished organizing the medical data her alternate had given her.

"Uh? What? Why?" AU Daniel asked, clearly shocked that his wife wanted to leave someone behind.

"Daniel there is a good chance that we are going to die, and even if we don' t die of entropic cascade failure there will be two of us in our own reality and time for the rest of our lives. You and I have each other, but Cay... only one of her can be with Julie. One of them will be alone."

"And you think that since the Cay of this reality is dead that she should stay here? Janet, just because they're both here doesn't mean that they'll be happy together."

"I know that... but she has a chance Daniel," AU Janet pleaded.

"You can't make the decision for her... but if you want to mention it to her, I'll support you and try to help you convince her to stay."

Any response AU Janet was going to make was cut off by a loud knock on the door. "Are you guys decent, cause I don't want miss my last meal," AU Astor yelled through the door.

"Can't have that." AU Daniel retorted as he held the door open. "I just have to put my shoes on."

"Well if you and the Mrs. would rather engage in more pleasurable activities then I'll be happy to grab lunch on my own," AU Astor smirked. She was rewarded with deep blush from both AU Janet and AU Daniel.

~Anonymous Planet In An Alternate Reality

The Stargate sprang to life and a FRED appeared from the shimmering event horizon. A dozen people; SG-1, Dr. Fraiser, the AU Team, and four Tollans quickly followed it.

"Yes! We have trees, tons and tons of trees," Jack deadpanned. "The consistency is nice," Jack answered to Teal'c's raised eyebrow.

SG-1 started to unload the quantum mirror from the FRED, as the Tollans started to unpack their equipment as well. Soon the Tollans had confirmed their prediction on the time of the solar flare.

"We have a few minutes before the solar flare," Narim informed the group.

AU Janet took this time to talk to AU Astor privately, "Cay, I think you should go back."

"What?"

"There is a good chance that we are going to die, and you have a chance to survive. I want you to stay." AU Janet explained.

"NO!" AU Astor shouted, and then quickly lowered her voice when she attracted stares, "No. I won't stay behind."

"Think about it."

"Janet, if this doesn't work the way we planned you and Daniel are gonna need someone to watch your back," AU Astor reasoned.

"We can watch our own backs. Daniel has been on SG-1 for five years, and I'm a trained soldier. Cay, one of us should survive... live." AU Janet pleaded.

"Dr. Fraiser, I am aware of your training and qualifications, but my orders were protect you and Dr. Jackson. I will not stay behind." AU Astor bit out.

"Captain, I'm the commanding officer in charge and I can order you to stay."

"Fine. I quit."

"Cay... I don't want you to throw your life away."

AU Astor's anger wavered as she saw the emotion in her friend's eyes. "I know Janet, but I lost a lot too. Granted not as much as you and Daniel, but you can't ask me not to risk everything, especially when I can save everything and everyone I care about. Something could wrong and we may need to try again."

Jack's yell interrupted the pair, "Its time."

The AU Team stood off to the right of the DHD with all the gear that they had brought with them, as Narim dialed sixth of the seven chevrons. When Omoc gave the signal Narim engaged the seventh chevron. With a departing nod to the crowd the AU Team moved to step through the event horizon. AU Astor took the lead, with AU Janet in the middle, and Daniel bringing up the rear. AU Astor had just reached the stairs leading to the gate when she was enveloped in blue energy.

Before SG-1 or the Tollans even knew what was happening AU Janet pulled her Zat Gun out and zatted AU Astor. She quickly dropped a note next to her fallen teammate, and ran through the event horizon. AU Daniel froze for a minute not knowing what to do, but as he watched his wife disappear through the horizon his instincts kicked in and he quickly followed her through. The gate disengaged moments later.

~Anonymous AU Planet Two Weeks Earlier

The Stargate sprang to life and AU Janet stumbled through the event horizon, and moments later AU Daniel did the same thing.

"Janet?" AU Daniel asked breathlessly.

"I had to Daniel, I wasn't going let her throw her life away."

"Well I guess there's no point arguing about it. Its not like I can change what you did."

"No you can't... we should dial the SGC. The Tollan weren't exactly sure how far we would be sent back. They estimated between a month to a few days," AU Janet stated as she made her way to the DHD. She silently dialed in the address, praying for the seventh chevron to engage. When it did, she and AU Daniel finally allowed themselves to breathe. Once the GDO Code was sent and the couple had received an acknowledgement signal the pair stepped through the event horizon.

~Anonymous AU Planet In The Present

Astor groaned as she made her way back to conscious world.

"Easy, just lie still," Janet ordered as she checked all of Astor's vitals.

Astor clutched her head and asked, "What happened?"

"My alternate zatted you," Janet replied.

Janet handed Astor some aspirin and the water canteen. "She left you a note."

Astor finished reading the note and mashed it up into a ball as she let out a frustrated scream. "You have to send me back. When's the next flare?"

"That is not possible," Narim stated, "We don't know exactly how far back in time they went. You could end up weeks, days, or hours before they even arrived back on the planet."

~Janet's Office, Sub-Level 19

Janet slowly made her way to her office. It had been a long week. After Astor had come to from the Zat blast, she had demanded to be sent back, but the Tollans had immediately told her that it wasn't possible. After much coercing SG-1 had managed to calm Astor down. Once everyone had returned to the SGC, the Tollan left, then there were the unbelievable long post mission exam, and even longer debriefing.

The next day the Tollans had reported that a Goa'uld Mothership showed up, and that the barely ready bomb had been successfully deployed. SG-1 had gone to Tollan to smooth out any details. While she finished a report for General Hammond on what new planets her alternate had told her about, which was topped off with a medical emergency, SG-3 had come under heavy Jaffa fire on their last mission.

Janet was just glad to be on two days downtime she couldn't wait to go home and just soak in the tub. She had just finished putting her jacket on when Daniel stopped by. "He-ey Daniel."

"Hey Janet, taking off?" Daniel asked as he started cleaning his glasses.

"Yep, what about you Daniel? Should I warn the local female population 'Look out Ladies! Daniel Jackson is on the prowl.'"

Daniel tried desperately not to blush, but finally gave in and offered Janet s sheepish smile, "Actually, I was hoping you wanted to grab a cup of coffee?"

"I'd like that."

The End... I think.
