It All Started Out With A Headache

SUMMARY: Janet has a headache and needs to get home. Guess who's available?

God my headache is killing me, she thought while she was sitting in front of her desk in her half-lit room. She was messaging her temples when she heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," she said in a low whisper. It was Sam.

"Hey Jan... wow, what's wrong?" Wow, she really looks out of it, Sam thought.

"I have this huge headache and the slightest noise or hint of light hurts so much," she rested her head in her hands.

"Why don't you go home? Dr. McKenzie could take the night shift for you, I'm sure." She came toward Janet and patted her on the back.

"Okay, but I can't drive. I don't even have the will to grab my pen and write."

"I can't take you home because I have to work on the reactor. Colonel O'Neill and Teal'c are off world. That only leaves Daniel." Daniel, Janet thought, as much as I want to be with him, I don't want to be a burden for him. Just as Sam had mentioned Daniel's name, he came in to ask Sam a question.

"Hey Sam... Hey Jan... wow, what's wrong?" he asked concerned for Janet. He came closer towards her.

"Unfortunately Janet is not feeling to good and she shouldn't stay here any longer. I can't take her home so that only leaves you."

"I wouldn't mind taking her home," he kneeled down and touched her on her back, "Janet, I'm going to go get my things and I'll take you straight home, okay?" She couldn't say anything, so she just nodded her head.

"I'll be right back," and with that he left.

Even though Sam couldn't take Janet home, she helped her change into more comfortable clothes in the locker room.

"So Daniel's taking you," Sam said with a mischievous smile on her face.

"Yes he is," Janet just smiled.

"Oh come on Janet. You know you have the hots for him!"

"Sam, stop it," she said laughing.

"You know that if anything happens you have to tell me everything; every single detail!"

"I don't think much is going to happen."

"Oh I have a feeling that something might happen," and she just smiled.

Daniel met with Sam and Janet in the locker room and he took Janet's bag on one arm and put his other arm around Janet. Janet placed her hand behind Daniel's back and she felt him shiver.

As they were walking down the hall, Sam stayed and looked at them. They look so cute together, she thought.

On the surface, Daniel was guiding Janet to his car. He put her bag on the floor and opened the passenger side door for her. After she was seated and he put her seatbelt on for her, he went to the driver's side and turned the engine on.

While they were on the road, Daniel was driving with one hand on the wheel and his free had was around Janet. While she was sleeping, she had her hand on his chest. And yet for some reason Daniel felt that this was the way it should be. Him and Janet, together. But, she probably doesn't feel the same way, he admitted to himself.

They drove up into her driveway and the house looked empty.

I guess Cassandra's out with her friends, he thought.

He slowly and carefully removed his arm around Janet and left to open her front door. He came back and he noticed that she was still sleeping. He didn't want to wake her up, so he opened the side door, slipped one arm under her legs and the other behind her back and slowly but surely began to take her out of the car.

She still didn't wake, but she placed her arm around his neck and her head on his shoulder. He took her inside, went upstairs, found her room, and placed her on her bed.

He wanted her to be as comfortable as possible, so he took off her shoes and removed the clip from her hair. She looks so beautiful with her hair out, he thought to himself. He placed her bed covers on her and just when he was about to leave the room Janet mumbled something in her sleep.

"Mmmmm... Daniel... don't ... stop." Daniel couldn't believe it. Was she really dreaming about him? Does she really feel the same way that he feels for her? She kept on sleeping and didn't stir to wake. He didn't feel comfortable about leaving her alone, so he decided to stick around.

Janet stirred in bed and woke up. She felt much better than before, but still had some shooting pains. She looked at the alarm clock and saw that it was 6:55 pm. Wow, she thought, how time flies.

She moved out of bed and started to descend downstairs. She entered the living room and saw Daniel sleeping on her couch. She moved towards him and kneeled down in front of him. She bent her head to his ear and whispered softly, "Daniel, Daniel. Wake up." She placed her hand on his chest and felt his heart beat. Daniel woke up and yawned.

"Hey... you look better," he said sitting down and patting on the seat next to him for her to sit.

"I am beginning to feel better..." pause, "Thank you Daniel for everything."

"No problem. What are friends for," There was a long and quiet pause. Then there was thunder and lightning.

"Daniel can you do me a favor?"

"Sure what is it?" he said sitting up straight.

"Can you massage my back; it's killing me."

"Sure," and with that Janet undid her bra and began to pull her shirt up to her shoulders. In order to make things more comfortable, they both sat on the floor, Janet sitting in between his legs. He then began to massage her tense muscles. Janet couldn't believe how good this felt; it felt like she was in heaven. She was drifting off into her own world and didn't notice that she was making noises. Daniel noticed how much she liked it and pulled her closer to him. He looked at her bare back and her skin felt so soft like silk. Oh man, did he have the urge to touch her in other places. He didn't know he could feel like this for anyone after Sha're passed away. He had built a wall around his heart just like Jack did after he lost Charlie and Sarah. He was taken out of thought when he had struck the right spot on her back and she placed her hand on his leg. Janet also was taken out of her thoughts and felt that she couldn't do this any longer. She stood up and lowered her shirt. Daniel sat still on the floor confused and asked her what was the matter.

"Nothing Daniel, I think you should go," she moved towards the door.

"Why, did I do anything that made you uncomfortable?" he said standing up not wanting to leave her without a reason.

"No," she said holding back the urge to cry.

"Janet I'm not leaving until you tell me what's wrong," he walked up to her and placed his hand on her shoulder. She pulled away from him.

"Daniel.." tears were coming down her cheeks, "I'm afraid."

"Afraid of what Janet? I'm here to protect you, what are you afraid of?"

"I'm afraid of loosing you, Daniel. I'm afraid that if I get too close and you go through the gate, I might loose you." Daniel looked at her and saw how much she loved him. He came closer towards her to the point where she felt his breath on her. He held out his hand under her chin and pulled it up. They were looking deeply into their eyes.

"Janet, no matter what happens to me, my love for you will never wither away. You are the reason I get up to see every day, not the Stargate. When we have check ups, I pretend to hate them when I'm really glad that I have a chance to see you. When you were sick yesterday, I saw it as opportunity to get closer to you and you know what?" he leaned in to give her a passionate kiss, "it worked," and with that he gave her another kiss. After several moments, they broke apart and Daniel began to wipe her tears away.

Janet was about to open her mouth to say something, but Daniel quieted her by placing his finger on her lips.

"Were you dreaming about me earlier?" he asked with a smile on his face. She looked at him.

"Daniel... I've been dreaming about you ever since I first met you."

"Really?" And she nodded her head and gave him another "frenchy" kiss. She started to back away not wanting to break contact. They moved into her room and Daniel was attempting to take off her shirt, but was taking too long, so she took it off for him and he laughed into their kiss.

Eventually all of their clothing items were removed. Once on the bed, he looked into her eyes, then entered her body. For that moment they were one. Their bodies flowed with each other in a graceful movement. Janet moaned and held on to the bedspread for support. He laid his head on her neck and once in a while they looked up at each other and their love for one another intensified. That one night was theirs and theirs only.

Her head rested on his chest. His arms were hugging her, while her arm was around his waist.

"Daniel," she said softly.

"Yes Janet"

"My headache's gone." He laughed and so did she.

"I love you," and he held her tighter than before. She lifted her head, looked into those beautiful blue eyes, and said, "And I love you." She rested her head back on his chest and he kissed her forehead ever so lightly.

* After Cassie came back from her friend's house, she saw Daniel walking into the kitchen without a shirt. She placed her hand in front of her eyes and said hello to him. After trying to absorb the fact that her mom and Daniel were together, she was happy for them (or was she? Read the sequel coming soon!).

* After Janet and Daniel got together, Sam and Jack also got together (I just had to put them somewhere!)
