I made no money off the production of this fan fiction and no infringement on copyrights or trademarks was intended. Previously unrecognized characters and places, and this story, are copyrighted to the author. Any similarity to real persons, living or dead, is coincidental and not intended by the author. AUTHOR'S NOTES: This story is at heart a Dan/Jan romance inspired by quite a few factors:

1) The much talked about picture on Teryl's home page- and what reaction Daniel might have to seeing "Janet" like that

2) My wonderful beta Marty who while coaching me through another crossover I'm working on, mentioned the idea of 'three interesting doctors- with screwed up love lives- meeting at a conference and discovering they have a lot in common- aliens, vampires and secret government conspiracies!' Hence, you'll meet Natalie Lambert from "Forever Knight" (Background Info:http://www.loftworks.com/fktoc.html) and Dana Scully from the "X-Files." You really don't have to have watched either show to understand- all you really need to know is Natalie's love interest is a vampire cop (who, imagine this, wants to be human) and well, Mulder and Scully are pretty self explanatory I think!

3) An intense desire to give Janet a life outside the SGC... but allow SG-1 to be a part of it- albeit in a strange way

4) Far too many viewings of "RoP" and "Lifeboat"

So, here's my little story. It's written and I'll be posting it in segments so as to not overload your mailboxes! Please let me know what you think- and keep in mind, it might be a bit OOC, but hopefully, something that could happen. But in the end, this is for fun and humor- no real angst or such here!

~*~*~*~*~

Janet Fraiser groaned as a sheepish looking nurse deposited another pile of paper on her desk- then bolted from the room without a backward glance. The piles of paper on her desk were only getting larger- along with her headache.

She really, really needed a break.

Rubbing her temples, she wondered if Sam would be up for getting dinner- considering it was a rare night that SG-1 was actually on world. It would do her a world of good to relax and indulge in some "girl talk" with her best friend.

However, said best friend was probably spending her on world time with her CO- and definitely not talking. She couldn't help but be glad her two friends had decided to act on the feelings between them, even if they had to keep the relationship private. SG-1, Cassandra and herself were the only ones who knew Sam and Jack had gotten together- although she suspected General Hammond was wise to the situation as well.

Still, the two had been able to keep their personal and working relationships separate- a feat that awed her to no end. She didn't know how they did it, and all Sam could tell her was that they loved each other enough to know how important it was to not screw it up by doing something stupid while acting as SG-1.

While she was glad for her friends happiness, part of her couldn't help but feel bitter that her own love life was so- well- non-existent for lack of a better word. Not that she had a lot of time to date, what with her Top Secret job, the injuries and illnesses that seemed to plague the SGC and raising a teenage daughter. But she often found herself longing for the contentment she now saw in both Sam and Jack. Even Teal'c seemed at peace- making regular visits to the Land of the Light to see his family.

The only other restless one of the bunch was Daniel, and that was to be expected- after 'descending' and loosing most of his memories. Not to mention having his mind used as a "lifeboat" by a bunch of desperate consciousnesses only weeks after getting the memories of his former life back.

Her mind drifted back to the look in his eyes as he desperately tried to call her name, his voice struggling to be heard through the din of people in his mind. She remembered her own desperate cry of his name- and her impassioned words about getting Daniel's body back- wondering now if she had expressed too much.

Sighing, she rested her head in her hands, her mind now populated by increasingly familiar thoughts of Daniel. If she were honest, she could admit her views of the man had been slowly changing since Cassie's horrible illness a few years ago. That instant in the hallway, when he'd held her hand and told her he was there if she needed anything, started it all.

She could still feel the warmth of his hand on hers, read the concern and support in those beautiful orbs as he offered his friendship- and possibly something more. Not that she'd allowed herself to consider that possibility until hours later, when a cured Cassie was sleeping. She often wondered what might have happened if she hadn't gone to confront Nerti that night- but instead visited Daniel's office.

After he'd ascended, she'd realized just how much she'd come to depend on his smile, his gentle touch, the way he could make her feel better simply by smiling. Her feelings had evolved from 'concerned doctor' to 'concerned woman.' It had been hard to realize he was gone- especially since she could not show it as openly as SG-1 could. Still, the nights she'd spent crying herself to sleep were indelibly imprinted on her mind.

Then he'd returned, and her feelings had taken a deeper turn. She knew she was dangerously close to falling in love with him when he'd stumbled through the Stargate with a triumphant SG-1 in tow. It had been a struggle to watch him try and remember his life with the SGC- and a relief when things had gotten back to normal.

Then he'd been possessed by those- people- and she'd realized that she'd done the unthinkable- fallen head over heels in love with Doctor Daniel Jackson. The knowledge had scared her- especially since Daniel seemed not to feel anything more than 'friendship' for her. She wondered if he had any memory of Cassie's illness and the support she'd taken from him since.

/Stop it, Janet! He's your friend, your colleague. He's probably never thought of you in any other way- even before his ascension. Get a grip girl!/

Hating her conscious, she tried to turn her attention to the newest pile of paper on her desk, noting a huge manila envelope sticking out from the bottom. Curious, she pulled it out to see it was from one of her fellow doctors- and few outside the SGC friends- who worked at one of the local hospitals.

Ripping open the envelope, a handwritten note and a colorful flyer fell onto the desk. The flyer screamed 'New Technology! New Developments! You Can Change the Medical World!" Amused, she found it was the flyer for an international medical conference being held that weekend in Colorado Springs.

She'd heard about it through a few outside friends, but hadn't paid much attention, realizing that it wasn't exactly easy to attend a conference and not be able to tell people what you actually dealt with on a daily basis. Curious as to why Susie had sent it, she picked up the handwritten note.

Jan- Know you're busy with all your 'government work' but maybe you want to take a break this weekend and attend. I hear there's going to be a few interesting guest speakers- and several topics- which I highlighted- that you might be interested in. I can't make it- Michelle has a soccer meet in Seattle- but figured if you wanted, you could use my tickets for the 'mingling events' and maybe meet someone. Hell, at least it would get you out of your mountain for a few days. Think about it- talk to you soon! Susie

Smiling, she pulled out what looked like an itinerary- wondering which seminars her friend had highlighted. She frowned as she read several titles. "Emotional Attachment to You Patients: Life Threatening or Life Saving?" "De-stressing From Your Job: 10 Easy Steps" and "New Advances or Alien Technology?"

The last one caught her attention- making her wonder just exactly what that seminar might entail. It also set off a warning light in her mind- especially since it was the only seminar with no labeled instructor. Probably something harmless- but then again, maybe she should check it out- just for safety's sake.

It wasn't like her social calendar was filled for the weekend anyhow. Cassie was leaving for Summer Camp on Friday and SG-1 was off world until Saturday night- not to mention that the only thing on Sam's mind after returning from a three-day mission would be jumping Jack. So female companionship was out- and she'd already convinced herself that Daniel was not an option.

Well, almost. But it wasn't like she could do anything now- after all- he was off world until Saturday as well. So what did she have to lose? She could go, attend a few sessions, make sure no top-secret military information was being disguised as "alien technology" and maybe meet someone that could take her mind off Daniel.

At least until she saw him again on Monday.

Feeling a bit better, she picked up the phone to call General Hammond.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Why was it that there was never a place to sit at a Starbucks during a conference of any type? Keeping a death grip on her coffee- she pushed through the two young women rise and leave a table directly in front of her. Her gaze narrowed as she noted another young man heading for it.

Moving quickly, she literally ran for the table, sighing in relief as she sank into one of the chairs a few seconds before the man reached it. Feeling triumphant, she gave the man a sympathetic smile, getting a wry one in return before he walked off. She sighed and settled back in her chair, sipping her coffee and observing everyone around her.

So far, she'd managed to make it through the "Emotional Attachment" seminar- where all she'd really learned was that she was in serious danger of letting her feelings for Daniel, not to mention SG-1- interfere with her care of them. Not a surprise, since she'd realized years ago that they were friends as well as patients. Still, she thought she had a pretty good handle on separating friend from patient- so she really wasn't too worried.

Not to mention a good part of the seminar had focused on how emotional attachment might actually help a patient recover. She'd wanted offer her own proof- remembering the night long vigils they'd held around every member of SG-1- not to mention Cassie- and her firm belief that her love for her friends and family was what kept her going, refusing to give up until she'd found a cure.

Overall, it had been interesting. She still had the "De-Stressing" seminar in an hour and then the "Alien" one before the conference ended for the day. And so far, she hadn't met anyone of interest. Oh, she'd started several conversations with those sitting around her, but none that convinced her these were people she just had to get to know.

Still, it was better than being on base, waiting around for another SG team to return, no doubt with injuries. She frowned, realizing tonight would be the first time in a long time that she wouldn't be there when SG-1 returned. While part of her was anxious as to what injuries they might bring back, most notably Daniel, she realized that she needed this break- if simply to prove to herself that she could do something outside of the SGC.

Besides, she'd left word with the General to call her if she was needed.

Sipping her coffee, she turned her attention back to people watching, turning as a short red-haired woman cleared her throat from behind her chair.

"Hi, I wondered if this seat was taken?"

Smiling at the woman, Janet motioned to one of the free seats, watching as the woman gracefully placed her coffee on the table and her briefcase at her feet. Once she'd settled in, she held out a hand in greeting.

"Hi, I'm Natalie Lambert."

"Janet Fraiser- I take it you're here for the conference?" She smiled as the woman sighed, then nodded.

"Not that I learned to much from that seminar on "emotional attachments"- I gave up on not getting emotionally attached years ago.

Janet smiled and nodded. "Me too, all I really ended up realizing was that I am way too attached to several of my patients- but that personal involvement has saved their lives many times over."

"So, you're a doctor then?"

Janet nodded as she gave the quick version of what she did- true to the facts but without going into details about just who here patients were- and the planets they came from. She was glad to see the other woman did not ask a lot of questions she couldn't answer.

"Sounds rewarding. I tend to deal with 'death' rather than life- so my story's a little more morbid."

Janet raised an eyebrow. "Let me guess- you're a coroner?"

The red head smiled. "Yep, no one dies in the vicinity of Toronto without a final visit from me."

Janet found herself fascinated as Natalie began to describe her job- sensing that there was more that remained unsaid. She got the impression that Natalie too had secrets she could not reveal- and that only intrigued her more.

The two were soon involved in debating the merits of "live" verses "dead" patients, when another voice intruded.

"Hi, I couldn't help but overhear your discussion and wondered if you'd consider letting me join in- and have a seat?"

Janet turned to see a petite woman with dark auburn hair smiling tentatively at them. Again, she wasn't sure what made her do it, but she waved a hand towards the only remaining seat at the table.

"Why not- I'm Janet, this is Natalie."

"Dana Scully."

Janet smiled as their newest member settled in at the table, waiting until she was comfortable before asking what exactly it was that Dana did.

"I'm actually a Special Agent with the FBI." Janet's eyebrows rose and she noted Natalie's did too as the woman smiled. "I know, you're wondering what I'm doing here- well, I'm also a certified medical doctor and am often called to treat the dead and alive- most of which we encounter frequently on our cases."

Janet found her curiosity peaked even as Natalie asked the next question.

"So what kind of cases do you work on?"

Dana's wry laughter made her raise an eyebrow again. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

Now her curiosity was truly intrigued, and she could see Natalie was just as interested.

"Try me, you'll find I have a pretty open mind." The words were dry but true. She figured if she could treat humans with snakes living inside them, she could handle whatever the FBI dealt with on a daily basis.

"Not unless you believe in aliens or vampires."

Janet choked on the coffee she'd just sipped.

"Aliens?" She hoped her voice didn't sound as surprised as she felt- her mind immediately going into high alert mode.

"Vampires?" The expression on Natalie's face as she uttered the word set off more alarm bells in Janet's mind.

"See, I told you." There was a resignation in the voice that proved to Janet then and there, that Dana Scully was completely serious. She didn't know whether to be excited or terrified.

"Um, actually, I don't think it's that strange at all. Have you really met vampires- or at least people who believe they are?" Natalie's words were soft, but held a wealth of meaning for Janet as she watched her new acquaintance. If she didn't know better, she could have sworn that Natalie was implying that she believed in vampires as well.

Although, if alien snakes could take over bodies in an attempt to control the galaxy, was it so impossible to believe vampires could exist?

Dana suddenly looked a little uncomfortable. "I don't think so, but my partner firmly believes one of the cases we worked on involved a clan of vampires- although if I remember the case right, the head 'vampire' looked a lot like that actor, Luke Wilson."

Janet watched the emotions flicker across Natalie's face- wondering what was going through the other woman's mind as she seemed to puzzle the information.

"Natalie, do you believe in vampires?"

It was a simple question, but Janet held her breath as she waited for an answer, sensing Dana was doing the same. After a long moment, Natalie sighed.

"You'll think I'm nuts, but yes, I kno- well, I believe they exist. If you don't want to associate with me, I'll understand."

Quite the opposite, Janet found herself even more curious. "Actually, I don't think you're crazy."

She noted Dana and Natalie were giving her curious looks, and she weighed her words carefully before replying.

"I've seen a lot of- well- strange things in my years with the military, and while I'm not sure if I believe in vampires, I do believe that there are people or things out there that aren't quite human."

She bit her lip, wondering if the two would think she was nuts, especially since she did not intend to go into the matter any deeper. To her surprise, both women wore contemplative looks.

"I have to admit, I agree with you- although the things I've learned in my years working on the X-Files have definitely sparked a healthy distrust of the government. Not offense intended, Janet."

She nodded at the woman's words, wondering just what this Dana Scully knew that made her distrust the government so much. Not that she was a huge fan of it at the moment- especially with people like Mayborne out there running the shady side of it.

"The X-Files?"

Janet watched as Dana grimaced at Natalie's question. "That's what the unexplained, sometimes supernatural cases we work on are called."

"Sounds intriguing- any really interesting ones you care to talk about? Or are they all classified?"

Janet waited as Dana seemed to consider the question. Finally, she smiled. "Actually, there are quite a few- and since you both seem to have open minds, it might be interesting to see what you make of them- if you can bring yourselves to believe."

Janet laughed, noting Natalie was smiling as well. "I'm all for that- although I do believe I have a seminar on "De-stressing" to attend at the moment."

To her delight, both Natalie and Dana immediately piped up that they were in the same seminar and the women decided to walk over together, talking about some of the more interesting cases Dana had worked on.

By the time they reached the classroom where the seminar was being held, Janet was seriously wondering what the government was not telling the SGC about extraterrestrial life- right here on Earth.

Looking forward to continuing the conversation later, she settled into a seat between her two new friends, feeling more excited than she had in weeks.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"Incoming traveler, General."

General George Hammond frowned as the Stargate began whirling- the chevrons lighting up on their own accord.

"SG-1 isn't expected back for at least 10 hours and the only other off world team is SG-8."

"I know sir, but there's no GDO- wait a second, I'm getting one- it's SG-1."

General Hammond sighed, running a hand over his head, wondering what kind of trouble his flagship team had gotten into this time. The mission was supposed to be a regular one- to an uninhabited planet. Obviously, things had not gone as planned.

"Get a medical team to the gateroom immediately."

There was no question of the order, everyone working at the SGC knew that if SG-1 was returning early, there were more than likely going to be injuries.

Several seconds later, all four members of SG-1 came barreling through the gate, tumbling down the ramp with unexpected clumsiness.

"Close the damned iris!"

General Hammond repeated O'Neill's screamed order, watching as the iris slammed shut. A second later the unmistakable 'thud' of something hitting it echoed through the gateroom. Moving faster than he'd believed possible, Hammond found himself entering the gateroom where the members of SG-1 were struggling to rise, accompanied by various medical personnel.

"Colonel O'Neill, what was that? Are you all okay?"

"That was probably a very irate Jaffa, and do we look like we're all right?" Jack O'Neill knew his voice was higher than normal, but when one had just been chased through the Stargate by a herd of angry Jaffa- from a planet that was supposed to be deserted- one could not exactly be expected to be completely calm and in control.

"We're fine, General, Sir." Samantha Carter's even voice reassured Hammond, who turned his attention to the other members of SG-1, all of whom looked a little shaken, but not seriously injured. A feeling of relief crept through his body- as it did for all safely returned teams- but with an added fondness for the four people in front of him.

"I take it there were unexpected visitors on PX6-LFX?"

"Ya think?"

The words were muttered under Jack's breath but Sam caught them. Shooting her CO a warning look, she jumped in with an explanation.

"Sir, we were finishing our data gathering when Teal'c spotted a team of Jaffa approaching. We're not sure where they came from- but we didn't stop to ask too many questions. We ran."

"Did you see who's Jaffa they were, Teal'c?"

The tall, black man shook his head. "Unfortunately, I did not. I was more concerned with getting DanielJackson to the gate."

At the words, the General looked over to where the base's resident archaeologist was struggling to his feet, being helped by Dr. Warner and a nurse. Seeing that he looked none the worse for wear, the General raised an eyebrow as a sheepish looking Daniel shrugged.

"I twisted my ankle on a rock. Wasn't looking where I was going-"

"Of course you weren't- you were being chased by the damned army of snakes." Jack muttered the words again, although in a fonder tone than he'd used earlier. Sam again shot him a warning look and he went silent.

Daniel shot his friend a long look before continuing, wincing as he placed a little pressure on his ankle. "I think I just sprained it. I'll be fine once Janet patches me up-"

"Actually, Dr. Jackson, I'll be the one doing the patching and post exams today." Dr. Warner smiled as he motioned for one of the nurses to bring forward a pair of crutches.

He hid his smile at the looks that crossed the faces of SG-1. While he knew they did not have anything against him, it was no secret that Dr. Fraiser was their preferred choice of physician. It didn't bother him in the least, considering he'd much rather let his colleague deal with the innumerable amount of injuries these four people seemed to sustain.

"Sir, I thought Janet- Dr. Fraiser- was working today? Is everything all right?" Sam knew her voice was concerned, but it was a rare day that her friend was not on duty when she knew SG-1 was returning. It was one of the little things that endeared her to them all, even Jack.

"Everything is fine, Major. Dr. Fraiser requested a few days off to attend a medical conference in town. She'll be back to work on Monday."

The General found himself fascinated by the reactions to his statement. Teal'c, as usual, only nodded, although there was a spark of something resembling curiosity in his eyes. That spark was quickly replaced with his usual stoic expression- a trick the General envied at times.

Jack and Sam both looked stunned, and he found himself having to hide his amusement. Obviously, the two had been so wrapped up in each other they hadn't paid much attention to their friend's melancholy mood lately.

He wouldn't hold it against them- for the moment- because he knew they were struggling to deal with their changing relationship. Although he suspected they'd be horrified if they realized he knew about them. Still, as long as it did not affect their work, he was not going to deny them what little happiness they could find- and so far, it had seemed to suit both of them quite well.

Dr. Jackson- well, his reaction was the one he found most interesting. There was almost an expression of hurt on his face, not very well masked. As he processed the information, the hurt changed to confusion and something that almost looked like disappointment.

Interesting.

He'd long suspected that the archaeologist harbored a hidden fascination for the lovely doctor- and vice versa. It was part of what he suspected had the good doctor feeling down lately, and why he'd agreed to her request for time off. He figured a little time apart would resolve the situation one way or another. In his heart, however, he knew what he hoped would happen.

But that was a topic for another day. There were post mission physicals to be conducted as well as a debriefing- all hours earlier than he'd expected.

"Okay people, let's get you checked out. Debriefing in one hour. Dismissed." With that, he turned and strode from the room, finally allowing his smile to surface. He breathed a sigh of relief once more, knowing that SG-1 was home safe and sound.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Find your inner child. I really think I lost her about 20 years ago- when I ceased to be a child."

Janet laughed at Natalie's grumbled words as they made their way from the room. It had been a rather uninspired two hours- with the speaker prattling on about the need to de-stress and relax- and get away from the rigors of dealing with life and death.

No surprise there- it was just not as easy as the damn speaker made it out to be. She knew that from personal experience.

"I just want to know how we can find time for aromatherapy breathing for a half hour when most of us barely have time for lunch."

She agreed with Dana's grumblings as well, smiling as they all stepped outside into the crisp afternoon air. It was a relief after the stifling heat in the small room filled with too many people.

"I still say they didn't address the main stress causing issue- a partner or colleague who drives you to distraction."

Natalie's muttered words had Janet raising an eyebrow. "Well, well, well Ms. Lambert, do I detect a hint of possible romance in your tone?" The resigned look she got in reply nearly broke her heart.

"Only in my dreams, Janet."

There was such a familiar longing in the words that Janet felt herself getting teary. Something told her this woman knew exactly how she felt when she thought about Daniel.

"Well, it's good to know it's not just me who dreams of having something more than a working relationship with my partner."

Dana's soft confession made Janet sigh as well. What were the chances all three of them were in the same boat? No time like the present to find out, she supposed.

"Do I dare make it three and say I'm also going through the 'distraction' of having a definitely unhealthy attraction to a colleague I work closely with?"

She was met with sympathetic sighs and groans. Suddenly, to her amazement, she felt a little better. She wasn't alone.

"Okay, I'm thinking this merits a lot more talking- and definitely some alcohol. So what's on everyone's schedule for the rest of the day?"

Janet smiled at Natalie's words as she looked at her watch. "By my calculations, I have a seminar on possible "Alien Technology" in about 15 minutes. Any chance you two are headed there as well?" The nods she received in reply made her smile.

"What is it they say- great minds think alike?"

She laughed at Dana's wry words, stretching as she settled onto a bench surrounding a fountain in the courtyard.

"I say we all head out for dinner somewhere afterwards- since I suspect we'll need to discuss what we've 'learned'- as well as our love lives. Sound agreeable?"

Janet nodded at Natalie's suggestion, thinking there was nothing she'd enjoy more than having a nice dinner- along with a good amount of wine, while telling these two relative strangers about Daniel.

"Sounds like a plan. So anyone want to take bets on who's leading this 'alien technology' seminar?"

Janet winced at Dana's question, picturing all kinds of horrible scenarios. Many of which involved Mayborne or a Gou'ald. But she quickly pushed the thoughts aside, realizing that more than likely, it would be some over egotistical professor who thought he'd seen an alien.

Then again, with the Asgard's penchant for keeping an 'eye' on earth, it was very well possible he might have.

Pushing the thought aside, she and her two new friends continued discussing the possibilities until she realized they had five minutes to get to the actual seminar itself.

"Well, shall we brave the unknown- and see if modern technology is really alien in origin?" Getting nods, she rose and the three headed for their final 'class' of the day.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"I wonder why Janet didn't mention she was attending a medical conference this weekend."

Jack O'Neill sighed as he looked at his 2IC. "Does the Doc tell you every little detail of her life?" He held up a hand as Sam opened her mouth to reply. "Strike that, I really don't think I want to know what you two discuss when you're not talking medical or Cassie situations."

"I believe DoctorFraiser did say she was attending some form of meeting event this weekend."

Jack, Sam and Daniel turned to Teal'c in surprise.

"When, Teal'c? I don't remember," Sam said, looking worried. She remembered talking to Janet briefly about Cassie's going to camp, but that was all. She felt guilty as she realized she hadn't paid much attention to her friend, being so wrapped up in getting off base and into bed with Jack.

"Yeah, I don't recall talking to the Doc at all this week, except for a brief passing in the hall." Jack found himself suddenly feeling guilty. After all, he might not say it often, but Janet was a good friend. He really should have taken time to at least stop by her office to ask what was new.

"Actually, I think she mentioned it to Teal'c and myself when we dropped by her office to leave some paperwork earlier this week." Daniel suddenly found himself remembering how Janet had looked up as he'd knocked on her door, her eyes moving from Teal'c to him with a small smile. He remembered noticing how good she looked- and how much he liked watching her smile- especially at him.

"Well, it is a little unusual, you have to admit." Sam shrugged as a nurse drew some blood. "Janet isn't known for enjoying these medical conferences- especially since she can't really talk about what she does on a daily basis."

"Actually, I believe she was more interested in a discussion of modern technology that might be considered 'alien' in origin."

Again, Teal'c's words drew all attention to him again.

"Geesh, Teal'c, when did you become such good friends with the Doc?" Jack watched as the tall Jaffa simply inclined his head.

"I am simply repeating what DoctorFraiser told DanielJackson and myself during the visit to her office earlier this week. I assume DanielJackson remembers as well?"

Daniel sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger. "I think so, although I really wasn't paying much attention at the time."

Sam sighed as she noted the slightly evil smile that cross her CO's face.

"Danny boy, what exactly were you paying attention to then? Could it be the good doctor herself?"

He knew it was wrong to tease his friend- but Jack couldn't help himself. He and Sam constantly talked about trying to get Daniel and Janet to admit their feelings for each other- and heaven forgive him if he did a little to spur them along. God knows they'd never get around to it if left to their own devices.

Daniel blushed at Jack's words and Sam's raised eyebrow. He knew his friends suspected he harbored a more than medical interest in their doctor- and they would be right.

He wasn't sure when his feelings for Janet had evolved from trusted doctor to someone he wanted to get to know better as a person and a woman. Maybe it had been seeing her so distraught over Cassie a few years ago. Despite the memories he was still struggling to remember with the SGC since his return- the clear vision of standing next to Janet, holding her hand in that crowded hallway- had never left his mind.

He could still remember the despair in her eyes as she'd clung to his hand, almost, it seemed to him, as if she did not want to let go. He remembered offering to do 'anything' she needed- hoping she didn't see the flash in his eyes as her grip tightened on his. The images of what he might have done, might have said, filtered through his mind for days after- even when Cassie was slowly recovering. He often found himself wondering what might have happened if he'd followed her that day.

Those first few weeks after his return, he'd been so immersed in remembering his life, he hadn't paid much attention to anything else, Janet included. He knew he needed to talk to her, to simply sit down and 'catch up' as he had with the other members of his SGC family- but he hadn't had time.

Then he'd been possessed by those damned people. All he could remember through the fear of having so many people in his mind- was the clear voice of Janet, trying to get him to talk to her. Reassuring him that he would be fine- desperately calling his name the one moment he'd surfaced. The passion in her voice as she'd declared she would take his body back still haunted him to this day.

When he'd recovered, he'd realized his feelings for the petite doctor ran far deeper than he'd admitted- wondering how he could have been so blind. He'd made a mental note to sit down and talk to her, see if she might feel the same- but again, SGC business and the study of recently brought back artifacts had taken up that time.

Now, he found himself uncommonly depressed that he hadn't made the effort to talk to her more- maybe then he wouldn't be feeling this sense of loss as Dr. Warner performed the routines Janet usually did. He definitely did NOT enjoy them as much.

"You're awfully quiet there Daniel, something you want to share with the class?"

Jack ignored Sam's reproachful look, more concerned with the expression on Daniel's face. He knew when his friend was regretting something- and it was pretty obvious Daniel was. The younger man had become like a brother as well as a best friend to him over the past few years- and especially since his return, he had felt a greater need than normal to protect the archaeologist. All he knew was that none of them, Janet included, could take loosing him again.

"No, just wishing I'd paid a little more attention to Janet this week."

The others went quiet, unable to form replies. All knew he had a point and felt varying degrees of guilt. Jack finally decided he should be the one to break the silence.

"Okay, it's Saturday right?" Getting nods, his face perked up. "Conferences don't usually happen during the evenings, right?" Again, getting nods, he continued. "What's say we head over to Janet's place and take the good doctor out for the night?"

He could see the eagerness that appeared in Daniel's eyes and noted the answering light that sparked in Sam's. He sent his lover an amused gaze, knowing she'd picked up on their friend's sudden enthusiasm as well.

"I think that's a great idea, Jack. Janet needs to get out a little- away from work." Daniel knew he probably sounded too excited, but he couldn't bring himself to care. The thought of getting Janet somewhere they could talk was holding more and more appeal.

"I am in agreement with O'Neill. I believe it is time we paid another visit to O'Malley's."

Jack cracked a smile at Teal'c's words. "Admit it, Teal'c, you just want to try your hand at darts again."

The Jaffa gave him a long look, before nodding. "I admit I am fascinated by the Tau'ri's desire to throw a sharp, pointed object at a circular board- for enjoyment."

Sam couldn't hold back her own laughter as she saw the amusement in Jack and Daniel's eyes. "I think we have a plan then. After we debrief, how about we all head home and meet up at Janet's house at say, oh 20:00:00 hours?"

"Should we not call DoctorFraiser first, to alert her of our presence?"

Jack gave Teal'c a small grin. "Nope. I think the Doc could use a few good surprises in her life." Winking at his friends, he strode from the room, determined to get this debriefing over with and the night started. He was already anticipating a few slow dances with Sam.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"Well that was enlightening."

Janet rubbed her temples as the final seminar of the day broke up. Overall, it had been a joke. Well, at least to her.

The so called "professor" leading the discussion claimed to have proof that some of the biggest modern medical advances had ties to 'alien life'- which of course, all stemmed from the notorious Roswell crash.

Of course, the evidence he'd provided made no correlating sense with anything she'd learned from Thor or the other races they'd encountered in her years with the SGC. In fact, she wouldn't have been surprised if he'd manufactured the entire seminar.

What worried her was how many people, medical professionals, seemed to give him some kind of credence. Not that she was worried they'd suddenly start telling the world that the medical technology that 'saved them' came from alien races- but it was disconcerting.

"I can't believe anyone in that room put a speck of credit in anything that man had to say."

Dana's words held a hint of bitterness as well as amusement, and Janet again found herself wondering if the FBI Agent did indeed know something about aliens and their 'visits' to earth.

"I know. It really makes you wonder about the mentality of today's medical professionals."

Janet grinned at the words, deciding to play Devil's Advocate just for the fun of it. "Very true, although what does it say for the three of us- who, admittedly, believe in vampires, aliens and other things that go 'bump in the night?'"

Amused laughter greeted her response as the women strode once again into the fading light of early evening.

"Okay, well I for one am starving, and more than eager to find a few glasses of good wine. Janet, you're from here, know any place good?"

Thinking for a moment, she smiled. "Actually, there's a great Irish Pub not too far away- you interested?"

"I'm in- but I wouldn't mind changing out of business attire for the night. I'm feeling the need for something a little sexier."

Janet laughed at Natalie's words, realizing she felt the same. After all, it was rare she got to wear more than her military uniform- and she had a sexy new peach dress that Cassie had talked her into buying for fun a few weeks ago.

"Sounds good, where are you two staying?"

Both were at the local Marriott and it was decided that all would go back to change, then meet in the hotel lobby an hour and a half later. It was decided the best bet was for Janet to park at the hotel and then they'd all take a cab to O'Malley's. That left the night open for plenty of alcohol consumption.

Twenty minutes later, Janet was showering- anticipating a night out with two of the most fascinating women she'd met in a long time. And she couldn't wait to hear their stories about 'work relationships'- figuring they had to be a little better than hers.

As she curled her hair a half hour later, she found herself wondering if SG-1 had returned and had to fight the urge to call and check. But this was her night- and the SGC could survive a night on its own. Besides, she hadn't heard from General Hammond, which meant things were under control.

Still, she found herself regretting the fact that she wouldn't get to look into Daniel's eyes as she checked him over- or run her hands over his muscular chest, checking for bruises of course.

/Down girl, you've gotta stop this!/

Pushing thoughts of Daniel to the back of her mind, she pulled out the dress and slipped it over her body, delighting in the way the silk slid along her curves, outlining them in a most flattering way. The peach color was perfect with her skin tone- bringing out the gold flecks in her eyes.

Makeup and jewelry added the final touches and she found herself minutes later staring at a completely different Janet Fraiser. The woman staring back at her looked sexy and fun- a far cry from the staid doctorly look she sported daily at the SGC. She wondered what Daniel would think if he could see her like this.

Sighing, she grabbed her purse and headed for the door, trying to stop her foolish heart from imagining what couldn't be. Tonight was for her and her alone- and Daniel Jackson had better damn well stay out of it!

~*~*~*~*~*~

An hour later the three women were well into their second bottle of wine- and feeling a definite buzz. Their discussion had ranged all across the spectrum- from favorite TV shows- all three enjoyed "Smallville" but avoided most of the reality shows with Dana having a weakness for "CSI" an Natalie admitting to a fascination with "Angel;" to the most annoying patients they'd ever had- an interesting topic with most of her's being 'alive' (she wasn't going to even mention 'alien') while most of Dana's and Natalie's were 'dead.'

Janet was enjoying the feeling and decided she was sufficiently loosened up enough to get the ball rolling on tougher topics.

"Okay, I'm sufficiently buzzed enough to tackle the issue we've avoided until now- our love lives- or in my case- lack there of."

"I'm in the same boat, Janet. I haven't had a date in a long time- and it doesn't help that the man I want to be with has a fear of commitment."

Janet smiled at Natalie. "So, this man, do you work with him?"

"He's actually a detective, so yes, we work together a lot. The hardest part of it all, however, is that I know he wants to be with me as well- but there are certain- circumstances that make it difficult."

Her eyebrow rose as a strange thought flitted across her mind. Pushing it down to fancy, she encouraged her friend to continue with a smile as Dana asked her own question.

"What kind of circumstances, if you can tell us?"

Natalie's sigh drew a look of sympathy from both women. "It's tough to explain, except to say he's had a rough life- and he's got a definitely expected fear of commitment. Still, I know we could make it work if he'd only trust himself around me."

Janet grew even more curious at the words, noting Dana had a strange look in her eyes as well.

"Trust isn't an easy thing to give- or get. I've learned that the hard way."

The attention now shifted to Dana.

"Sounds like you're in the same boat- I'm guessing it's this partner of yours?" Janet knew she'd hit the mark when her friend sighed.

"Mulder's had a rough life too- his sister was abducted when he was a teenager and he's spent most of his life searching for her- unsuccessfully."

Janet felt her heart go out to Dana- and the man who she could tell from her friend's expression must obviously not be willing to give up the search.

"That's terrible- and there have been no clues?" She knew Dana was holding something back by the slight pause before her answer.

"There have been a few leads, but nothing that's led to finding her. Still, he's found a kind of peace over the past year- but he's still wary of letting people get too close."

Janet closed her eyes, realizing Dana's description fit Daniel as well.

"I take it you're one of the people he won't let get close?"

Natalie's soft words made Janet focus again on her friends, hearing Dana sigh.

"There's a lot of reasons we can't explore a romantic relationship- not to mention the least of which involve Bureau regulations. But it's tough, having to work side by side with him each day, wanting to hold him- to be able to kiss him in public and not worry about being caught."

Now it sounded a lot like Sam and Jack's relationship of years. Once again, it only proved to Janet that the damned military regulations about fraternization should be re-examined and possibly rewritten.

"So he feels the same for you?"

Janet had to ask, figuring she knew the answer, but wanted to hear Dana admit it out loud.

"I know he does, although we've never spoken of it. It's just there- between us- all the time. I'd die myself if anything happened to him and I know he'd give his life for me. But we can't act on those feelings until we find the truth about what the government is hiding from us- and are both truly free of our pasts."

Janet sighed, motioning for another bottle of wine as Dana trailed off. Getting looks from the other two, she shrugged.

"We're only through you two and you haven't heard my story yet. I need more alcohol."

"So, Janet, what's your damage?"

She laughed at Natalie's words, feeling the buzz making her lightheaded. But she needed to talk to someone and these two women seemed like they'd understand more than most.

"Pretty much the same, I'm in love with a brilliant yet stubborn man who lost his wife in a horrible accident a few years ago- and is really unsure about loving anyone again."

"That's sad- were they married long?"

"Only for about a year- she was- taken-" she paused, deciding to leave it there despite the two curious looks she was getting. "Daniel spent three years searching for her- only to find her then lose her in an accident. Since then, he's been afraid to love again- although I've only recently begun to suspect he might be willing to think about a relationship- with me."

"Then what's to be upset about? It sounds like a good thing to me?"

She laughed wryly at Dana's words. "That's just the problem. I thought we were on the verge of overcoming that barrier and actually asking each other out- but then-" She paused again, unsure of how to mention Daniel's 'ascension.'

"Then what? What happened?"

She sighed and shrugged, opting for a modified version of the truth. "He got really sick- and had to go away for a few months. It was a long recovery process, during which he lost a lot of his memory- and only recently has gotten most of it back."

"But let me guess, he's not remembering the tentative steps you two had taken towards becoming more than friends?"

Natalie's soft words made her eyes tear up and she reached for her glass of wine, downing it in one swallow.

"He hasn't given any outward sign, and I've been too chicken to ask-"

"But there's still something between you?"

Dana's words made her smile as she refilled her glass. "The chemistry is electric- I can barely make it through his post mission physicals without attacking him."

"That's gotta be tough- and you said "post mission," what does he do?"

Ah, there was the tricky part. Taking a careful breath, she edited her response. "He's an archaeologist and linguist and spends a lot of time analyzing ancient artifacts and ruins from various dig sites."

It wasn't the whole truth, but it would have to do for the moment. Thankfully, both women seemed to accept it without question.

"Well, sounds sexy to me- like a real life Indiana Jones. I wish I could tell you how to make him remember, but I have to admit, I'm just as clueless as you."

"God, we're a depressing bunch tonight, aren't we?"

Dana's sudden comment made Janet, and Natalie, laugh.

"So we all have pathetic love lives- and difficult work lives. What's say we put them behind us tonight and simply be crazy."

Janet's ears perked up at the words as she exchanged a glance with Natalie.

"What exactly did you have in mind?"

Dana's smile drew an answering one from both women.

"Well- first things first- anyone up for doing a shot or two?"

Janet smiled as she motioned their waiter over- willing to try anything if it would get her mind off her troubles with Daniel.

"No one's driving so I'm up for anything."

An enthusiastic nod from Natalie sealed the deal and all three women raised their glasses in a toast as their bemused waiter waited for their order.

~*~*~*~*~*~

It was a question he hadn't thought about in years, if ever- and to his surprise that thought made him wonder just how much he'd changed in his time with the SGC.

Daniel Jackson, brilliant archaeologist, linguist and scholar, the man who opened the Stargate and served as a diplomat to countless other planets- was utterly and completely stumped over what to wear.

Standing in front of his closet, he found himself rejecting nearly everything he looked at, thinking it made him look too old, or for that matter, too scholarly. And the last thing he wanted to be tonight was either. He was going to make a move on Janet and he figured looking good would help distract her enough before she could bolt at what he wanted to say.

He was so engrossed in his wardrobe dilemma, that he completely missed the pounding on his front door.

~*~*~*~

"What in the world is taking him so long?"

Jack O'Neill muttered the words in between banging on his best friend's front door. Finally, realizing he would get no answer, he pulled out his spare key and opened the door- fighting the immediate urge to panic at not seeing his friend anywhere in the near vicinity.

"Jack, it's okay, he's probably just in his room or something."

Sam ran a soothing hand over her lover's back, trying to push down her own fears. She knew all too well what was going through her CO's mind- the thought that Daniel had left them again. It was a fear she struggled with daily- as did everyone who knew and loved Daniel.

Jack remained silent, moving towards Daniel's bedroom, feeling better at noting the light that shone from it. Stepping into the room, he came to a dead stop, feeling Sam's body crash into his back with a muttered 'umph!'

"Danny?"

Daniel whirled around to see a stunned, yet amused looking Jack and Sam staring at him from his bedroom doorway. His cheeks immediately heated as he realized what his room must look like, various outfits scattered across the bed and on the floor.

"Um, when did I step into the Twilight Zone?"

Jack couldn't help his huge grin as he walked towards his friend. From the looks of things, Daniel was having problems figuring out what to wear- which by the gospel according to Jack O'Neill meant one thing was on his mind- a woman.

"Jack, Sam, sorry, I'm still trying to figure out what to wear-"

"Daniel, you know Janet will think you look good no matter what you put on." Sam made the suggestion quietly, seeing the blush rise in her surrogate brother's cheeks. Something inside her loosened as she realized that finally, after all this time, Daniel might be ready to admit what she, and the rest of the SGC, knew he felt for their doctor.

"Sam's right- but you know, I must admit, we can do a little something to make sure her eyes don't leave yours all night."

Jack smiled slyly at his friend and walked directly to the closet.

"Jack, don't you think I should be the one doing this?" Sam was amused at her lover's air of superiority, not to mention what the sight of Colonel Jack O'Neill digging through a closet of clothes- Daniel's to say the least- would do for his image.

"Trust me, Sam. I've seen Janet's eyes light up when the Space Monkey wears a certain color- exactly, here it is!" With that, Jack pulled out a button down blue shirt that he remembered Sam getting for Daniel several years ago, tossing it onto the bed.

"Okay, if you picked the top, I get to pick the bottom." Determination in her stride, Sam strode to the closet, shoving Jack out of the way.

Daniel watched his friends in silence- too bemused to do anything more. He simply stood back and watched the rather surreal sight of Colonel Jack O'Neill and Major Samantha Carter arguing over whether jeans or slacks would show off his 'attributes' to their best advantage.

Talk about entering the Twilight Zone.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Janet was feeling extremely good as they polished off their fourth bottle of wine, chasing it with kamikaze shots. Shuddering at the mixed taste of dry wine and the sweet shot, she opened her eyes to see the slightly glazed expressions on her friends' faces.

"Okay, now that I am well on the way to being trashed, I think we need to step this party up a notch- anyone spot any cute men at the bar?"

Giggling, yes, Janet Fraiser was giggling, she turned her gaze to the bar, happy to note several decent looking men were eyeing them with smiles.

"Oh, I think there's a few that we could entice- shall we play down and dirty?"

Dana's slightly slurred words brought a gleam to her eye and she leaned over to whisper to her friends.

"What's say we get them all worked up, then leave them high and dry?" Her question was met with answering evil smiles.

"Janet, you are an evil woman- but I love it!"

"It's the perfect way to relieve stress!"

"So, how do we go about bringing men to their knees? I admit, I'm a little out of practice here."

"I think we all are- which means we'll just have to improvise!" Janet smiled as she leaned over and began to discuss the options available.

~*~*~*~*~

"You are sure this is a good idea, O'Neill?"

Jack gave an exasperated groan as he pulled the car up in front of Janet's house. "Of course I am. Janet needs a night out with her friends- not to mention the man she's interested in."

Daniel shot Jack an evil glance as Sam tried to hide a smile.

"I have noticed you look extremely well tonight, DanielJackson. A good sign if you are to start courting DoctorFraiser."

"Who said anything about 'courting?'" He knew his voice sounded slightly panicked, but now that they were here, he was having second thoughts. Major second thoughts- spurred on by the fact that his so-called 'family' was totally aware of what he hoped might happen tonight.

"Suck it up, Danny. You've both been taking far too long about this. It's time to damn the torpedoes and go full speed ahead."

Jack gave his best friend a reassuring smile- feeling just a little sympathetic. He knew what Daniel was going through- and he didn't envy the younger man. He'd gone through it himself for years, until he'd realized that it was past time he trample down his fears and take what he wanted. He'd never been happier- and from what she'd told him- either had Sam.

"I don't even know if she'd want to go out with me."

Sam smiled at Daniel's muttered words. "I do know- she does. Trust me, Daniel."

Daniel gave Sam a hard look. "If you're wrong, I'm going to be forced to do something drastic."

Sam tried not to laugh at her friend's attempt to be hard-nosed. Daniel couldn't pull it off however, his eyes had too much of that 'puppy dog' look. She didn't know how Janet had resisted them for so long.

"Should we not go?"

Daniel sighed as Teal'c stepped out of the car, soon joining him to follow his friends up the steps of Janet's front porch. He didn't know what he was doing- but Jack was right- it had to be done. He would go insane if he spent one more day wondering about the 'what ifs' of starting a relationship with Janet Fraiser. Taking a deep breath, he waited as Jack rang the doorbell.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Janet tried to play the role of seductress as she danced with a handsome man to the winsome ballad playing over the loudspeakers. So far, the plan had gone well, and all three of them were on the dance floor with smitten men.

The alcohol in her blood was making her more flirty than usual and she was enjoying the power she knew she had over this stranger. It was intoxicating- and liberating.

Now if only she could stop seeing Daniel's face whenever she looked into his eyes.

Forcing her attention to focus on her partner, she pressed a little closer, smiling as she felt his heart beating fast against her cheek. It really was cruel what she intended to do- but for once in her life, she wanted to be the wicked temptress, not the reliable doctor.

Rubbing against him- she made sure he was hot and bothered, just as the music ended. Pulling back, she brushed her lips across his cheek and winked.

"Thanks for the dance- you weren't half bad."

With that, she turned and made her way back to her table, noting that Natalie and Dana were also advancing on their seats from opposite sides of the room. When they met at the table- they exchanged high fives.

"That felt good- I just hope the 'boys' can recover."

"It was evil, but liberating in a way."

"Who's up for another round of shots?"

Getting enthusiastic nods all around, they motioned to their smiling waiter- determined to enjoy this night to the fullest. Having successfully downed another shot- Janet turned to her friends with a wicked grin.

"So, what's next?"

~*~*~*~*~*~

Jack was getting a little frustrated when, once again tonight, his pounding on a door received no response.

"I swear, if she's standing in there staring at her closet, I'm going to hurt someone!"

Sam smiled at his muttered words, pushing him aside and reaching for the spare key she kept on her key ring.

"Well, if the mountain won't come to Mohammed-" With that, she opened the door, surprised to find the living room lit only by a small lamp. For all intents and purposes, it looked like there was no one home.

Daniel felt his emotions deflate- realizing that it looked like Janet wasn't home.

/And why should she be? It's a Saturday night, she's probably out, not waiting at home for you to rescue her from a night in front of the TV/

"Janet?"

Sam moved into the living room, unable to sense a presence anywhere around.

"It appears that DoctorFraiser is not here."

"Way to state the obvious, Teal'c." Sam knew she sounded like Jack, but didn't really care at the moment. She too had noticed Daniel's crestfallen expression and her heart went out to him. If she were honest with herself, she also felt a slight bit of hurt that Janet was obviously out somewhere, and hadn't invited her.

/Not that you've been around much recently, spending all your time with Jack/

"Well, maybe we should just go on to O'Malley's. No use in you getting dressed up for nothing, Danny."

Jack hoped his words might ease the despair he could see in his friend's eyes, but not having much hope as he noted the dejected slump of his friend's shoulders.

"That's all right. It was a stupid idea anyhow, maybe I should just go home-"

"No!" Sam's heartfelt cry brought all attention around to her. "Just because Janet's not here doesn't mean we can't go out and eat. It's been too long since we've done the dinner thing- and I for one am not going to let tonight go to waste!"

Feeling better at Sam's words, Jack turned to smile at Teal'c and Daniel. "Carter's right- let's get this show on the road campers- we can still have fun!"

Daniel knew his friends were trying to cheer him up, but it wasn't working. He seriously thought about calling a cab to take him home, but one look at Jack's face told him it was out of the question. Sighing, he resigned himself to a night of feeling bitter- while watching Sam and Jack act like the couple in love they were.

Sometimes, fate really wasn't on his side.

~*~*~*~*~

"I can't believe we're going to do this."

Janet wavered a little as she stood, the alcohol immediately rushing to her brain. Dana's idea had sounded like fun at the time- but now that she was actually standing, she wondered if she could remain upright.

No doubt about it, Janet Fraiser was good and drunk.

"What have we got to lose? It's not like we know anyone here, right?"

Natalie's words made sense and feeling better, she linked her arms with the two women as all three headed for the DJ near the front of the room. She thanked God no one from the SGC was here tonight- because she knew she'd never live this down. Not that she really cared at the moment- the alcohol and the feelings of being an attractive, wanted female were powerful enough to curb all her inhibitions.

This was going to be fun.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"Come on Danny, cheer up. There's always tomorrow."

Jack knew he sounded too cheerful, but he was determined to make his friend feel better. Not to mention the somewhat selfish fact that the only change he got to be romantic with Sam in public were these random nights out. Even then it could go no farther than a dance- but it was worth it to see the dreamy smile on her face and know that all the other men in the room envied his woman.

Not that 'his woman' would be just that much longer if she knew he referred to her that way in his mind.

Sam sighed as she opened the door to O'Malley's noting the place was packed. At least a good crowd might keep Daniel occupied. Anything to take his mind off Janet. Not that she wasn't rather curious herself to what her best friend was doing at the moment.

"Man, are they having a party or something?"

Jack didn't think he'd ever seen O'Malley's this crowded- although many of the people were significantly overdressed for the occasion.

"Actually, a medical convention is in town- this was sort of the place they chose to hang out tonight."

Sam whirled around at the voice of the woman standing behind a podium. A light bulb suddenly went on in her mind and she wondered if fate could be that kind.

"A medical convention?" She smiled as Jack caught her words and his eyebrow rose. Daniel and Teal'c however had missed the exchange, both talking quietly to each other about who knew what.

"Yes, that's why they moved Karaoke into the bar area- it's quite popular. I guess even doctors need a way to relax now and then."

The hostess smiled as she motioned to the people, then looked down at her chart. "So, there will be four of you tonight? It's going to be about a 10 minute wait."

"That's fine, we'll just head for the bar and wait there." Giving his name to the hostess, he lightly put a hand on Sam's back and led their small group through the crowd towards the bar. All the while he kept his eyes peeled for the figure he hoped to see.

Settling into the bar, Jack looked around in vain, still not spotting Janet. Motioning to the bartender, he ordered a round of drinks for his 'kids'- smiling as he watched Teal'c take in his surroundings.

"Why are obviously inadequate voiced humans singing on stage? I was of the opinion that only those who could sing did so in public- unless they were otherwise intoxicated?"

Daniel, despite his melancholy, couldn't help but join in his friends' laughter.

"Teal'c, looks like you're going to get an education in Karaoke tonight." Jack grinned, highly anticipating his friend's reaction to this somewhat strange American tradition.

Daniel sighed, tuning out his friend's explanation of karaoke as he searched the bar blindly. So many people, quite a few good-looking women, but not the one he really wanted to be with tonight. Taking a sip of his drink, he found his attention drawn to a flash of red hair on the makeshift stage.

His heart leapt at seeing the flowing locks, only to fall as a beautiful, yet unfamiliar, face took the microphone. Turning his eyes back to his drink, he missed the other two women who had jumped up on stage as well.

"Ladies and gentlemen- we've got a treat for you tonight!"

Sam found her gaze drawn to the stage by the hoots and catcalls that suddenly erupted from the crowd. As her eyes swept over the three figures standing in the spotlight, she almost missed what was right in front of her.

Her jaw dropped and a stifled gasp came from the back of her throat.

Jack, turning at the sound, was startled to see his 2IC's expression. Following her shell shocked gaze to the stage, he observed three women, noting that they were all very attractive, but not as beautiful as his Sam- although Janet did look pretty damn sexy up there-

It was his turn to utter a curse as what, or more accurately, who was up there registered- and his jaw dropped right along with Sam. Only his curse was loud enough to draw the attention of his other two teammates- and what he and Sam were staring at. When he could finally force his brain to think again- Jack turned hesitantly to observe their reactions.

Teal'c, not to his surprise, was wearing his usual stoic expression, although he did think the Jaffa's eyes were slightly wider than normal. But it wasn't Teal'c's reaction he was looking for. His gaze tentatively, almost fearfully, went to his fourth teammate.

Daniel looked as if he'd been frozen- his drink paused halfway to his mouth, his eyes wider than he'd ever seen them behind the gold-rimmed frames. Nudging Sam in the side, he jerked his head towards Daniel, noting the quick flash in her eyes as she too turned to observe their friend.

Daniel, for his part, wondered if he'd stepped out of the real world and into one of his nightly fantasies.

Jack's curse had drawn his attention, and the look on both his best friend's and surrogate sister's faces had his own attention directed to the stage. What he'd seen up there had taken his breath away- literally and figuratively.

Janet.

Well, a Janet he'd never, ever seen before in his life.

He swallowed hard as he took note of how the short peach dress clung to every one of her curves, ending well above her knees, showing an almost indecent amount of leg. Her hair fell in lose waves around her face, giving her a sexy look that he'd never seen before. The image stirred an intense desire to tangle his hands in her hair and thoroughly muss it up- all while kissing her senseless.

His drink all but forgotten, his jaw dropped as the words the redhead on the left was speaking registered.

"Hi everyone, I'm Dana, and this is Janet and Natalie. We're going to do a little number that's guaranteed to knock your socks off- and definitely stir you up- if you know what I mean."

Jack wondered if he'd ever be able to speak again. He shot a wide-eyed look at Sam, whose jaw still hadn't closed. A look at Daniel revealed the same expression. Swallowing hard, he turned his attention back to the stage as a familiar drumbeat began.

"Oh my God. She's not-" Sam wasn't sure she could breathe as the words to the song Janet and her friends were about to sing registered.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"Do you know the words?" Janet hissed to Natalie and Dana who both teetered unsteadily on stage as the opening strains began.

"Hell no, but they're on screen, and I bet they come back once we start! I loved this song back in the 80's!" Dana muttered the words as she grabbed the microphone and took a deep breath.

"Okay, who wants to start?" Feeling the lights and the music combine with the alcohol in her system, Janet prayed they weren't going to make total fools of themselves. Although the adrenaline was pumping through her veins in ways she hadn't felt in years. With a deep breath, she took her position between the two women as Natalie stepped up to belt out the first verse.

Went to a party last Saturday night
I didn't get laid I got in a fight uh-huh
It ain't no big thing

To her surprise- it was easier than she'd thought to get into a routine- her hips gyrating to the beat as Dana picked up the next verse.

Late for my job and the traffic was bad
Had to borrow 10 bucks from my old man uh-huh
It ain't no big thing

Dana sounded pretty good as well- and Janet found her self-confidence returning- augmented by the mass amounts of alcohol in her blood no doubt- as she stepped forward and the other two stepped back. It was now her turn to shine- and she knew exactly who was inspiring her to put such sex appeal into the words.

But I know what I like
I know I like dancing with you
And I know what you like
I know you like dancing with me oh yeah

Picturing Daniel's ruggedly handsome face in front of her, it was easy to find the harmony, and the hip swivel as the three launched into the chorus- guaranteed to bring down the house.

Kiss me once
Kiss me twice
Come on pretty baby kiss me deadly

Daniel knew he had to be having an out of body experience as he watched the woman of his dreams belting out the Lita Ford classic- with more sex appeal than any ancient Egyptian God, or Gou'ald he'd ever seen. Janet literally screamed sex appeal- and there was no doubt in his mind that something- or someone- was inspiring that heated look in her eyes as she sang about dancing, and kissing, someone deadly.

He had a feeling her kisses would be lethal- at least where he was concerned. He didn't know if his heart could stand the shock he just knew would be generated by capturing her lips with his.

Swallowing harder, he took a huge gulp of his drink, oblivious to everything around him except the woman dancing and gyrating on stage.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Sam figured she had entered a different reality. Because there was no way in hell that was her best friend, Dr. Janet Fraiser, savior of the SGC, dressed so seductively belting out an 80's rock anthem.

"Um, you're sure we're in the correct reality, Sam?"

Jack's voice was more of a shout, barely heard though it was over the din of the roaring crowd. Sam swallowed, realizing her lover's mind was headed down the same path. Unfortunately, the more she thought about it, the more she realized they were definitely in their own reality altogether.

"Positive- although I don't think it's going to be quite the same anymore, is it?"

Her CO's strangled laugh was all it took to tell her he felt the same.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Teal'c found himself amused by the looks on his fellow teammate's faces. O'Neill and Carter looked as if they were unable to believe their eyes, while DanielJackson simply looked stunned.

He would admit, seeing their doctor dressed so scantily was a surprise, but a nice one at that. She was a good-looking woman, although not as beautiful as his wife. Still, he could appreciate a fine looking woman with the best of his human teammates.

It was also interesting to note DanielJackson's reaction. He had been aware of his friend's infatuation with the doctor for longer than most would suspect. What he had not told his friend, however, was that he was more than aware that the doctor felt the same for Daniel.

It made for a very interesting dynamic between his two human friends.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Jack wasn't sure if he believed Sam, but something in his gut told him that yes, they were right in the reality they were supposed to be- as was Janet.

Man, the doctor had some hidden depths he'd never even thought of- although he had to wonder who the two women with her were- and what other secrets the three of them might be hiding.

Then again, revealing any more might give Daniel a heart attack. Shooting his best friend another look, he found the same stunned expression on the familiar features- although the glass in his hand was now empty.

Holding up a hand, he motioned for the bartender.

"I think we're all going to need another round- and double the alcohol content."

~*~*~*~*~*~

Janet was feeling the alcohol and adrenaline full force now- and a quick look at her friends showed they were feeling the same. It was rather liberating to feel so free- unworried about who might see you. Giving the crowd a sexy smile- she slid up to Natalie as her friend belted out the second verse- feeling Dana closing in behind her.

Had a few beers getting high
Sitting watching the time go by uh-huh
It ain't no big thing

Swiveling her hips in time to Natalie's words, she executed a perfect turn, feeling Natalie follow as the attention shifted to Dana for the next set of verses.

Nothing to eat and no T.V.
Looking in the mirror don't get it for me uh-huh
It ain't no big thing

Smiling, she whirled to the center, feeling her friends close in on either side of her. Taking a deep breath, she poured all her emotions into the words.

But I know what I like
I know I like dancing with you
And I know what you like
I know you like dancing with me oh yeah

As the familiar chord to the chorus sounded, the three women smiled at each other before turning back to the crowd and belting out the chorus.

Now they brought down the house.

Kiss me once.
Kiss me twice. Come on pretty baby, kiss me deadly.

~*~*~*~*~*~

There was nothing on this earth, hell, in this galaxy that Daniel wanted more at that moment than to take Janet up on what she was so obviously offering the crowd.

Watching her grind against the other two women on stage was doing things to him he knew would haunt his dreams for years to come. After years of feeling guilty about moving on from Sha're- his entire body now hummed with a long forgotten, probably never felt before arousal.

Even his beloved wife had not been able to do to him what Janet had managed in a less than a minute.

Consequences be damned! He didn't care if she never spoke to him again- he needed to kiss her- and he needed to do it now!

Downing the drink that Teal'c had placed in his almost unresponsive hand- he felt the alcohol course through his system as he stood. Ignoring the shocked looks of his teammates, he began to push through the crowd, making his way to the stage- thankful his low tolerance for alcohol was allowing him the courage to do this.

He made it to the stage just as the trio launched into the final chorus.

~*~*~*~*~

Kiss me once
Kiss me twice
Come on pretty baby, kiss me deadly

Janet slid to her knees along with Natalie and Dana as the song finished and the bar erupted with hoots, catcalls and wolf whistles. She was flying high on adrenaline and alcohol when her gaze locked with a familiar pair of blue eyes, now staring directly at her from the front of the stage.

A very familiar, now desire laden pair of blue eyes.

She blinked, wondering if it was a dream or if her eyes had simply conjured up his image from wanting it so much. The gaze was broken as her friends lifted her to her feet, and she managed a bow along with them as her eyes desperately searched again for Daniel.

She found him right where she'd left him, unmoving, staring straight at her. Swallowing hard, she moved towards him, still half convinced he was a dream. The world began spinning crazily as she felt strong hands grab her waist and found herself being lifted off the stage and pulled down against a very warm, very hard, very male body.

A very familiar male body.

Desire hit her swift and hard- more than likely a result of her adrenaline from singing and the alcohol she'd consumed- but spurred on by the electric chemistry she felt crackling between them. Her breathing stopped as he muttered something low in her ear.

"Don't die on me now."

Then she stopped thinking all together as his lips captured hers.

~*~*~*~*~

Jack wondered if his poor heart could take another shock as he watched Daniel rise and head for the stage. Obviously, the alcohol and his emotions had gotten the better of him, and he wondered if he should go after his friend, before things got even more complicated.

"Let him go, Jack."

Sam sighed as she clearly read his expression, just as concerned as he was about what Daniel might do. However, she was going to put her faith in the chemistry she saw every time her two friends were in a room together.

Besides, if all else failed, Teal'c could probably intervene.

"Tell me I'm dreaming. I am dreaming right?"

"It would seem you are not, O'Neill. I would appear DanielJackson has finally decided to act on the feelings he harbors for DoctorFraiser."

Both Sam and Jack whirled around in shock at Teal'c's response. The tall Jaffa merely raised an eyebrow, before his gaze moved away from them.

"It would appear I am right."

Jack and Sam whirled around again, jaws on the floor as they watched Daniel reach for Janet, lifting her down from the stage, their eyes locked.

"He's not going to-"

"He wouldn't-"

A few seconds later, it was Teal'c who broke the stunned silence.

"It would appear he is."

~*~*~*~*~*~

Janet had been kissed quite a few times in her life- but no man had ever made her feel the way Daniel was making her feel at this moment.

His lips were hot against hers, plundering in an open-mouthed kiss that left no room for hesitancy. It was a delightful surprise to learn this man had hidden depths that passion seemed to unlock, and she was more than willing to explore it.

Her tongue reached to tangle with his as she lost herself in the feeling of his arms around her waist, one hand in her hair as he made it his mission to learn every last millimeter of her mouth. She had the vague thought that her elaborate hairdo was being spoiled, but it quickly flew out of her mind as Daniel's teeth tugged at her lower lip.

A low moan emerged from her throat as she ran her fingers through the strands of hair at his nape, holding him to her, never wanting this magical feeling to end.

Daniel, for his part, was amazed that a kiss could stir such feeling inside of him! Sure he'd kissed Sha're and been kissed by quite a few human- and alien- women, but none had done to his body what this first kiss with Janet was doing.

Her lips were soft and pliant against his, allowing his tongue access to the depths of her mouth, eagerly meeting his demands, twining her arms around his neck and reaching out to explore the texture of his own mouth.

Her breasts were flattened against his chest as he held her tightly with one arm, the other buried in her hair, using it to twist and turn her head to meet his kiss.

Desire swamped him as he heard her moan against his lips and he felt an answering groan- along with a desperate need for air- rise inside him.

Reluctantly, he ended the kiss, taking in huge gulps of air as he pulled back to look in her dazed eyes.

Janet cursed the need to breathe as she gasped in lungfuls of air, her eyes never faltering from Daniel's.

For what could have been moments, or hours, they stood staring at each other, oblivious to the catcalls and concerned looks they were getting from friends and strangers alike. Daniel finally realized he needed to say something, and hoped the words that sprang to mind were right.

"Well, I would certainly classify your kisses as 'deadly'- although the last thing on my mind at the moment is death."

Janet gaped at him for a moment- then smiled seductively.

"Good, because I need you alive for what I want to do to you later tonight."

She loved the way his eyes widened almost comically for a moment, before they narrowed and flashed again with a heat and desire that took her breath away.

"Well, well, well, care to make some introductions, Janet?"

Janet closed her eyes, amazed she'd forgotten her two friends. Then again, it was still hard to think straight with Daniel's kiss foremost in her mind.

"Um, Nat, Dana, this is Daniel. Daniel, this is Natalie and Dana."

"We've heard a lot about you- it's a pleasure to finally meet you, Daniel."

Janet winced at the tone of Natalie's words, blushing as she saw Daniel cock an eyebrow in response. But before he could reply, Dana stepped up and offered a sly smile and her hand.

"Yes, Jan's told us quite a lot about you- and let me say, she did not do you justice."

Janet blushed even harder as Daniel's eyebrows shot sky high again before turning a contemplative look on her.

"The pleasure is all mine- although I can't say as Janet has mentioned either of you to me."

He found it fascinating to watch the emotions cross Janet's face- realizing she looked even sexier when she blushed. Strange how he did not usually consider a blush sexy, but on this woman it was.

"That's probably because we didn't know each other until we were forced to endure lectures on personal relationships with patients- impossible ways to de-stress- an obvious alien conspiracy government cover-up-"

"And don't forget just peachy interpersonal work relationships."

Janet blushed at her friends' words and Daniel's raised eyebrow. "It's been an interesting day."

Daniel wasn't sure what to say, knowing that Janet- and her friends- were more than likely drunk- not that he was much more sober. Still, she felt too good in his arms to let go- and he was determined to get to the bottom of her friend's revealing statements.

"I guess it was- I wish I'd been there to experience it with you."

"Well then, we'll have to remedy that. Care to join us for a drink?"

Janet held her breath, hoping he'd say yes to Natalie's slightly slurred question. When his eyes suddenly moved to the bar, something she hadn't thought of before crossed her mind. The smile disappeared- as did the blush- as she realized that where Daniel went- SG-1 was likely to follow.

"Oh God."

Daniel couldn't help but smile as he read the horror that suddenly appeared in Janet's eyes. Obviously, she'd just realized exactly whom he was here with.

"Jan? You okay?"

She ignored the concern in Natalie's voice, her gaze almost desperate as it focused on Daniel. "Please, please tell me you came alone?" The look in his eyes was all the answer she needed and she closed her own, wondering if it were possible for the floor to open up and swallow her.

"He's here with someone else? After kissing you like that? The swine!"

Dana's outraged, slightly slurred voice finally penetrated her conscious and she tried to find the words to distill her friend's anger before things got violent.

"Dana, it's okay." Turning back to Daniel she tried to speak around the haze that was now coating her brain. "Where are they?"

Daniel laughed and gestured to the bar. "Last I saw, both Sam and Jack's jaws were on the floor. Teal'c, well, you know Teal'c, but I swear his eyes were a little wider than normal."

Janet closed her eyes, suddenly feeling dizzy. "They're never going to let me live this down, are they?"

"Probably not- although you're not the only one they're going to be teasing."

At his words, she suddenly realized that Daniel had probably shocked SG-1 as well by giving her that passionate kiss in front of a huge audience. Feeling only marginally better, she shot her two friends a sheepish look.

"So, you guys once said you wanted to meet my friends and co-workers-"

"Damn!"

Natalie's curse summed it all up pretty well, and suddenly Janet found herself laughing hysterically, leaning against Daniel for support. She found it oddly comforting to realize he hadn't removed his arms from her waist.

"I think we'd better face the music before Jack has a heart attack- and you have to revive him."

Daniel's wry words finally ended her laugher as she sighed and motioned to her friends as Daniel began to steer her across the bar- his arm still firmly around her waist.

She blushed as she caught sight of her stunned friends, although a little bit of the vixen, and the alcohol in her, found herself pleased that she'd so totally managed to shock these people who thought they knew her so well. This might actually be more fun than she'd thought.

But she was going to need another drink.

"I'm already on it- and this time, we're doing shots."

Smiling as her friend obviously read her mind, Janet ignored Daniel's raised eyebrows and prepared to face the music- feeling a little more secure with his arm around her waist.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"If this is what you're like when you 'relax' with perfect strangers, I'm sorry I know you so well."

Jack was feeling mighty good himself, having consumed several more drinks after Janet had made introductions and gotten over her initial embarrassment. Sam was also well past the point of sobriety as she snuggled against his side, still busy quizzing Janet and her friends about their day.

"Trust me, Jack, even I don't know the me that's decided to make an appearance tonight."

Janet smiled from her position at Daniel's side. He hadn't let go of her all night, and kept using every opportunity to steal kisses. She knew they needed to talk- but at the moment, she was flying high enough to not care about anything more than being right where she was.

"I know I like her, a lot."

The words were whispered against her ear and she shivered as Daniel lightly nipped at her earlobe. She didn't know if it was the alcohol that was making him so touchy feely and she really didn't care- as long as he didn't stop.

Daniel was finding it more and more difficult to think with Janet pressed so close to his side, her scent enveloping everything around him. The way she responded to his kisses and light touches turned him on like nothing ever had and he wasn't sure what he would do if he didn't get another taste of her lips- very, very soon.

Obviously, they needed to talk- but at the moment, he didn't want to think about anything but being next to her, enjoying a desire that was so obviously returned. He only wondered that he'd been so blind to it in the first place.

Janet sighed as she relaxed against him, enjoying being next to him. Which was why she was surprised to feel him pull back a moment later. Looking into his eyes, her breath caught at the look she found.

"Want to see if dancing with me is really what you like?"

Her heart thumped at the sexy tone to his words and without thinking, she nodded, licking her lips in anticipation.

Daniel had to hold back a groan at the look on her face, wondering if this was such a good idea. He was already finding it difficult to move from the affect she had on his body.

Managing to rise from his chair, he pulled her up with him, oblivious to the amused smiles of their friends as he led her to the dance floor. Finding an open space, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her tightly against him.

Closing his eyes, he allowed himself to breathe in the unique scent that was Janet's, feeling relaxed yet at the same time more aroused than he'd ever been in his life. Tightening his arms around her, he lost himself in the wonder that was Janet Fraiser.

Janet buried her head against his neck, amazed she now seemed to have the right to do this- to be so close to him she could touch his skin, kiss him senseless, to express all the desires she'd kept hidden for so long.

"You know, if I'd have known Lita Ford could get you to act like this, I'd have shown you my CD collection a lot sooner."

His words made her start as she pulled back to gaze into his eyes. "Daniel Jackson has a Lita Ford CD?" He looked even more adorable, she decided, when he was trying to be sheepish.

"What can I say, I have a hidden thing for 80's hairbands."

Her laughter washed over him in waves and he found himself glad to admit something he'd never told anyone, not even Jack.

"So, you wanted to show me your CD collection before tonight?"

It must have been the alcohol that prompted her to ask the question before thinking. Once it was out, she realized how it sounded and even in her drunken state, she knew she was verging on dangerous ground.

Daniel smiled, realizing they were both drunk, but still, it seemed, capable of getting to the heart of the matter.

"For a while now, I just didn't know if you'd be interested." He raised an eyebrow at her chortle of laughter.

"Daniel, for a man as smart as you, I think you'd have figured that out a long time ago." Janet smiled at his confused expression, glad to realize he really meant the words. He was just as unsure of things as she was- but he obviously felt the same. Still, she needed to hear it in words- and hoped she'd remember it tomorrow.

"So, it's been a while for you too?" At her nod, he found the alcohol allowing him to ask his next question. "So why didn't you say anything sooner?"

Janet sighed, biting her lip. "I didn't know what to say- besides, I figured you had other things on your mind."

His sigh was answer enough as he realized that he had indeed been preoccupied since his return. Part of him felt even worse realizing how he could have put themselves both out of their misery if he'd acted sooner.

"Daniel, don't look like that. I wasn't forthcoming either. But that's past, and I hope we can move forward from here." She knew it was a risk, but she had to know if this was just tonight or more long term.

Daniel smiled into her eyes, leaning down to make sure she heard his every word.

"You're the only woman I see in my future- wherever that might lead us."

Her heart flew at the words as he sealed them with another breathtaking kiss. When she finally pulled back for air, she felt as if she were flying.

"I'm going to hold you to that."

Daniel smiled before leaning down to kiss her again. He had every intention of making sure this woman was a permanent part of his future- and he now had plenty of time to do it.

~*~*~*~*~

Three hours later- Janet found their entire group spread out inside a courtesy limo. Apparently, O'Malley's was wary of another 'fight' breaking out among the inebriated members of SG-1 and offered their company limo to drive everyone home. Considering no one, with the exception of Teal'c, was in any condition to drive, it hadn't taken Jack long to agree.

The driver had dropped Natalie and Dana off at their hotel- amid drunken promises to get together for brunch the next day. Jack and Sam had been the next to go, making no secret of the fact that they would be staying at Jack's that night.

Teal'c had been dropped of at Daniel's, promising to feed the fish- bowing lightly to them before walking up the stairs and disappearing into the building. Daniel had insisted on staying to see Janet home.

Which left the two of them alone in the limo, snuggling and stealing kisses until the driver pulled up in front of her house. Her heart began to thump as Daniel pulled her from the limo- his arms going around her waist to steady her swaying form.

The alcohol had hit her system full force and combined with the delirious passion of being in his arms, Janet knew she didn't want this night to end. Finally reaching her front steps, she sighed as Daniel pulled her into his arms and captured her lips in a demanding kiss.

Losing herself in the sensation, she found herself unwilling to let him go. When she finally pulled back for air- she found his eyes blazing into hers with a desire that frightened and awed her.

"Janet- if it's too soon-"

Daniel knew he didn't want to leave and suspected Janet felt the same. But despite his mad desire for her- he wasn't going to force something on her she wasn't ready for.

She stopped him by placing two fingers over his mouth. "Stay."

That was all he needed to hear. With a groan, he waved good-bye to the limo driver and swept Janet up into his arms, pushing open the front door and carrying her into the house, his lips locked with hers.

All in all, Janet couldn't think of a better way to end a day.

~*~*~*~*~*~

"So, how was he?"

Janet giggled, yes, again, she giggled, as she sipped her coffee and looked at the slightly haggard faces of her two friends.

"Let's just say any expectations I had were completely blown out of the water."

"That good, huh?" Dana's voice sounded envious and Janet couldn't help but give a satisfied smile. There was no question about it- she was one satisfied woman this afternoon.

"So, how did you leave it?"

Natalie's question made her smile. "We're going out to dinner tonight- he says he's determined to do this right- by taking me out on a real, bona fide date."

"Gee, how romantic. Screw first, date later!"

Janet cracked up at Dana's wry comment, glad her friends were not giving her a hard time about the previous nights events. They'd kept their promise and were now sharing a final coffee in the airport while Natalie and Dana awaited their flights.

"I'm really going to miss you both- does that sound strange?"

Both women shook their heads in reply.

"Not at all. I'm expecting to hear from you regularly. Who knows, maybe I'll be inspired enough by you to get Nick to ravish me."

Janet smiled at Natalie's determined voice.

"Well, you got Daniel, and if Nat can get Nick to ravish her I certainly can find a way to get Mulder to take a chance with me."

"I think we've just made a pact here, am I right?"

Raising their coffee cups, the three women toasted each other.

"So, we're keeping in touch?"

"And getting together regularly?'

Janet smiled. "You better believe it. Besides, its only fair I get to meet your men, now that you've met mine."

"Deal."

"Promise."

Janet knew in that moment that she'd made two invaluable friends- not to mention she realized she'd probably never find two women who actually might believe her if one day, she found herself able to tell them about the Gou'ald- and the SGC's mission to protect Earth.

Vampires, aliens, two new friends to talk about them with- and of course Daniel to come home to.

It really didn't get any better than this.
