While looking meridian, I realized the writers had forgotten a very important scene. The idea was in my head since then, but the first days I just couldn't write - still crying to hard (well, when I think at the ep., I still do). I wrote the story directly in english, so no translation. One, that's SamCole/Sam23, told me this would be easier. Let's see.

"Daniel, you have to listen to your heart. You can't pass the great path until you realized why you really have to stay alive."
A flashback:
\\His parent's death, his grandfather's leaving, unlocking the Gate,
finding Shau'ri, loosing his wife, loosing her forever.
Kasuf, Skaara, Abydos, fighting the Goa'uld, freeing humans.
Sam, Jack, Teal'c, Hammond.
Rothman's death, Dr. Jordan's death, loosing Sarah to Osiris.//
That's all he saw when he tried to find the answer to Oma
Desala's question.
He had told her all this. She disagreed with him. What the hell
WAS the cause if it wasn't about helping other races, if not to be there for his loved ones?
How many times had he asked himself the same question?
"Can't you give me a hint or something?" Daniel asked the woman standing next to him.
"I already did: Listen to your heart."
"I did listen, but everything..." his voice trailed off. A woman
had just appeared in front of him, her eyes looking sad, exhausted,
and full of tears. There was caring in her eyes, and maybe love?
"Daniel, listen to me! Don't leave us - don't leave * me*! You
*can't* go away without a word!" The woman started removing
the bandages.
Daniel watched her in surprise.
"Why the hell did you do this? I know you felt you had to help
these people, but sacrifice your own life? Isn't your life as important as everyone else's?" She became angry. Her voice was trembling.
"You yourself told me: you can't offset the death of one human by saving hundreds of others. No one can ever offset
the death of a human being. Did you forget about this? Or don't you care about your own life? Don't you think it is worth something?"
Suddenly realizing how unfair she was, the woman stopped talking,
tears running down her cheeks. A single tear dropped onto Daniel's
lips, the lips of his injured body. Her finger touching his cheek lightly, running down his jaw.
The other part of Daniel, the one standing next to Oma Desala, stared at the woman in front of him, his gaze locked on her eyes.
She couldn't see him, but he could see her very clearly.
Suddenly he felt her tear on his lips. He licked at it and tasted the salty water. The next moment he felt a light touch, the warmth of the women's finger flashing through his whole body. Just because of this light touch.
"Sweetheart, I hope you can still hear me, because I want you to know one thing: "
Sure, he could hear and see her clearly, but how could she have known.
"I love you."
With these words she began to apply sterile bandages. She gently wrapped his whole head, only his eyes, nose and mouth were not covered with the white material "I don't know when I actually fell in love with
you," she said. "It just came to the point when I couldn't say anymore if we had a deep friendship, or if what I felt was love. Some time
later, I was sure I had totally fallen in love with you. It just
happened..." Her voice trailed off.
Daniel's eyes followed her when she finally turned around and left the room.
"It's... It's because of *her*, isn't it? I have to stay alive
because of *her*."
Oma Desala made no response.
Daniel suddenly realized what the woman had just told him:
"She loves me."
He remained silent for a moment.
"I love her."
His eyes going wide in surprise by the statement. Had he just said that? Had he really said he loved her? Yeah, he definitely had.
"Now you can come with me, the great path will be open for you."
Oma Desala smiled at him. Finally he got the message.
"But wait a minute. I can't leave now; I have to tell her... what's that?" He had a strange feeling in his chest.
"What the hell...
They're trying to heal me.
They must stop this!
They can never totally heal me, there'd still be too much damage. Don't they understand? My body has to die to free my soul. I have to pass the great path now. Tell them to stop it!"
"I can't, but you can."
"But how?" Having said that, he instinctively moved over to Jack. He touched the Colonel's shoulder.
Jack couldn't believe what he saw: Daniel - whole, without any
injures. They were standing in the gate room with a woman.
"Jack, they have to stop. Please, tell Jacob he must stop it!"
The next moment Daniel disappeared from Jack's view. In a trance, Jack moved over to where Jacob stood healing Daniel.
"Jacob, stop. This isn't what Daniel wants." He said to the group gathered around Daniel.
Jacob looked around, not sure what to do. "Tell me what I should
do!" Finally he gave in.
A second later the steady beat on the monitor became an incessant tone. Daniel's heart had stopped beating.
12 eyes filled with tears,
but before the tears could fall, Daniel's injured body started to glow.
His body disappeared into the white light. He rose above the 6 people gather around the bed where his badly burned body once lay. He hovered above them, 12 eyes going wide, not believing what they saw.
"Goodbye my love. I will always love you, angel." Yeah angel, that was the right expression, the woman thought, sadly.
The white being slowly passed her. She was touched by the light.
A light-touch, the woman thought. And then she saw him, only for a second. He was uninjured.
Daniel whispered his final words to her:
"I love you, Janet."
